Yes and no. Define "fashion" and define "diva". I prefer to think of myself as an "Ex-Fashionista"... I used to be stylish, but these days I can't afford to splash out whenever I see something I like.

The person below me thinks fashion is irrelevant.

From - "The Devil Wears Prada"

Miranda Priestly: This... 'stuff'? Oh... ok. I see, you think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. You're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar De La Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves St Laurent, wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of 8 different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room. From a pile of stuff.
So is fashion irrelevant? kinda yes, and kinda no. We're all slaves to it after all how many of us wear jeans and tshirts? that's not Haute couture but it is fashion.

Anne...SO SO right you are. I woke up in a most wonderful mood this morning. Looking forward to a fantastic day. I had a great dream last night...I thought of a prince, and a crumpet and a whole lot of water...wonder what that all means.

    Darkeyes....

Ranch Dressing is something that we over here put on salads..at least that is how it started out. Now we use it for just about everything....for a dip for veggies, a dip as an alternative or in addition to blue cheese dressing for hot and spicey chicken fingers or wings, on baked potatoes. Given its popularity....it is now used on just about ANYTHING................

Here is a link to see how it is made.

True... If that means dislike. I don't "hate" her, but she is SO over-rated. I mean sure, she did charity work... but when you're royalty, thats the least you can do IMO. And she seemed like a bit of a "media-whore". well, I've said enough on this subject...

False, Fran. "bollox" or "bollocks", in its most literal sense, is a colloquial word which refers to male testicals. Testicals, in their physiological context, are one of the most important things that exist. Without them, there would be no such thing as sperm, nor reproduction. And therefore, without these things, the human population (and indeed the vast majority of the animal population) would cease to multiply. That is, if it were to have ever existed in the first place. In certain cultures, testicles are prized as a symbol of potency, and sometimes even considered a gourmet delicacy. In our own culture, testicles have also been associated with positive drives such as confidence (eg. "to have balls") and also as a general expression of appreciation (eg. "the dog's bollocks" or "the mutt's nuts". Whilst testicles may not be aesthetically pleasing to some eyes, their importance is undeniable. And thus, any verbal discourse related to "bollocks" must surely be a good thing.

The person below me agrees with Fran!

Ach, double post! Am I open and honest? Most of the time, although I like my trust to be earned, and some things are best not divulged to every Tom, Dick or Harry that comes along.
