Ever been in a situation where you can't think of what to say, Or nobody is talking no matter what you do to get the conversation going?

Is it better too walk away or continue stay and keep trying?

Any thoughts folks? :)

Really depends on the situation man. Obviously you're going to handle it differently if it's a stranger you just bumped into on the street than if it's your partner, for instance.

I have an anxiety around awkward silences. So, when something like that happens I am likely to blurt out something like "ohhhh, how awkward". Actually I have reacted like that on at least 2 occasions -- the last got a pretty big laugh.

I've been on a few dates with awkward silence and those are the worst. Thats why I like to surround myself with talkative people, I'm just not very good at getting the ball rolling.

A true friend is someone you can be with and say absolutely nothing, and yet feel comfortable with the silence.

As far as first dates, and strangers, usually best to just say what is on your mind (with discretion, of course).
