    Experiment

A few weeks ago, I ran a personal in Craigslist in the Strictly Platonic MFW section. In it, I identified myself as a bi man who wanted to connect with a woman for friendship & perhaps more. Not one woman responded. I think that this somewhat validates my theory that to the vast majority of women, bi men are pariahs-no?

Perhaps most women just see anyone who puts a personal of any kind in Craigslist as a pariah?
Religion and Politics are like penises. It's okay to have and be proud of them, but it's not okay to whip them out in public and try to shove them down other people's throats!

I think you've nailed it. I don't know a single woman who would ever look for any sort of relationship on Craigslist.

I believe they go there to buy and sell stuff - not for friends.

    Am I close ladies?

Craiglist platonic category sometimes is used to seek out non sexual friendships where I live but it seems mostly about scoring drugs..420 etc...lol

    Re: Experiment

Straight male friends of mine have met women on craigslist and they were actual women not spam, or prostitutes. They met them both in the W4M section, the women replied to ads they posted in the M4W section, and they met women from ads in the NSA section. My friends said these women from Craigslist were obese, ugly, desperate for sex, and how they'd describe as busted so they just made up excuses and left. My friend's roommate met up with one woman like this he met from Craigslist. I asked him so what did you do? Was she a hooker? He told me he just nailed that coochie and did the hump and dump thang. Some of my other straight male friends actually dated or had short term relationships with women they met on CL who happened not to be obese, ugly, or desperate but were looking for men to date or be fuck buddies with. I'm not going to do your experiment since I'm married and we are monogamous. My wife knows about my bisexuality and is fine with my sexuality. We did not meet on the internet as it was not as mainstream or even around like it is now, and I told her I'm bisexual after we started dating.

    Re: Experiment

Can you post what u wrote on your ad? Difficult to analyse why it was unsuccessful if we're not seeing what they saw.

No I don't Dafy. But I feel it was an appropriately written personal for the venue. Thank you for asking a sane question. I was trying to make a point/start a discussion about female perceptions about bi males. Instead, it seems that the people who posted prior to you just wanted to make judgemental snipes about having a post on CL to begin with. No wonder this site seems to have about 25% of the participation it had a few months ago! Wow, fucking wow!

    Re: Experiment

Umm, so to elaborate on my original answer, No, most LADIES I meet online have very little problem with the fact that I am bi - but almost every single gay person I meet online has concerns about it. Of course, only the ladies who are interested respond, so I have no idea how many other people could have passed up my ad because I said I was bi.

    Re: Experiment

A lot of women don't go on craigslist for sex for many reasons. But the ones who usually do are worried that maybe the person is a scam or don't believe their possibly their type.
I've posted on craigslist quite a few times for me and my man but its really hard to get a woman. Men are easier to get on craigslist, as long as someone isn't deleting the posts though...

I think it's very interesting and valid to do experiments in this vein (so long as people's feelings are not messed with) e.g. we're studying human behaviour- they're hopes/dreams/desires/needs. We're certainly not just watching bacteria grow (although we all know a fair few amoebas in our lives, right? )

But oftentimes, conclusions can be rushed and assumptions made to provide a "see i was right" assurance to our own feelings of frustration that motivated us to experiment in the first place.
No conclusions can be drawn from one ad... especially when it is only conjecture as to the demographic or quanity of the people who read the ad.
What if only 1 woman read your ad...and actually she was up for it..but lost her internet connection that night?
how can you hope to moderate your variables in this sense..let alone draw the conclusion that this "somewhat validates my theory that to the vast majority of women, bi men are pariahs-no?"

There is scope queer id, to do a fuller experiement like this with perhaps more of an authenticated outcome....i reckon you should give it some thought...and perhaps do it again then disseminate it here for further analysis, eviseration, and/or ridicule.. at least this time you'll have some hard, fleshy data to slap about your critques faces, rather than just a weak hypothesis.

I attempted an experiement within the confines of this site itself just last year which proved interesting. But back then, I was heavily into a rich analysis of the interlacing of sexuality and gender roles. This year I haven't had a proper keyboard or a regular laptop so I just started watching a lot of porn instead and adding to threads the occasional flippent (yet astute) comment.
Too much exposure to sex and instant gratification can change a man. Makes him act dumb. I'm better of without it I think. I'm far more likeable celibate.
