Just look at the current gay marriage issues worldwide.
I any case, just think of the song from the Rogers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific: 'You have to be taught."
Not everyone that happens to be religious/spiritual, or who is a religious or spiritual leader is against LGBT people, our rights, etc.
However, pope Francis is homophobic/biphobic despite what he and his followers claim.

Why is that?
Are they ashamed of being bisexual or something other than heterosexual?
...society & the churches have told them so all their lives...

1. Those people should learn to say "Fuck society." like mostly everyone else does, or learns to do.
2.Which churches do this? I was raised both spiritually by my family and friends, and in a Protestant church that not only accepted bi, gay, and lesbian members; but it also did not say that being gay/bi/lesbian, etc. was a "sin" or something "bad" or that you were going to "hell" if you were not heterosexual, and our church also had gay, bisexual, and lesbian people in leadership positions, and also supported same gender marriage and does all of this today and has for decades.

...When I was growing up being gay was still a crime that carried a 5 year prison term…and Baptist preachers preached against homosexuality…the biggest shame a family could have was someone gay…when it’s been pounded into your head your whole life it’s hard to break away from what you’ve been taught…

In that case it's even like this for people who are Pagan/Wiccan.
