The only problem with that question is they don't tell you how big the ant is. Ants come in many sizes from teeny little ones to some pretty big ones.

found this googling
Convert 5 ft 9 in to inches:
69 inches
Let's set up a proportion:
0.25 inches / 69 inches = 69 inches / X inches
Cross multiply:
0.25x = 69*69
Divide by 0.25:
x = 69*69/0.25
x = 19044 inches
x = 1587 feet

Having to interpret the bad typing.
If an ant were the size of a man - is the answer
An ant is the size of a man i.e. in this case it is suggested 5'9'' so the man is the same size 5'9''
(The assumption is made that the mean height of US American males is not something like 6'1'' and is in fact 5'9'')

Yep, "misdirection" like the old one the kids used to ask, "Which is heavier: a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?" or, if a plane crashes on the France/Germany border, where do they bury the survivors?" :-)

Never mind the thread. Sounds like a load of old tosh.

PS - Of course one does not bury survivors unless they are insane mice.

Northerer--I loved that cartoon--it was so funny----never thought a mouse would be "intent on world domination!" LOL
