Yep just hot. Majorly hot. The kind of hot that has the humidity with it to make you sweat buckets. The kind of hot that makes you wish for winter. I can't legally wear less than I'm wearing now but short of sitting on an ice block I'm just gonna have to turn the fans on hi and deal with it.
How hot is it where you are?

It's "only" about 100 degrees F today, but by this weekend we're heading up to the 110+ degrees F again. Granted, we normally have very low humidity/dew point at least - you know, it's a "dry heat"! (only if there are no thunderclouds in the area....)

94, sporadic rains turns to steam, humidity must be 90 percent. Now, I remember why I left Florida in '59 and stayed until I forgot how hot it gets! How did we survive without A/C back when I was a kid?
Guess I'm happiest when I'm miserable...hated, (HATED!) snow and shoveling it only to see the snow plow throw half of it back in my driveway!

Weather here has been so Skitzo...One week its cold and not above 65 degrees, then 2 days later its a delightful 70-75 with no humidity. Next day its rainy and windy, then back to 70 again...sigh. And people cant figure out why we're sick most of the time.:eek:
Cant wait for my vacation next week. Back to some nice normal straight down Calif desert heat for a week. Yaaay! lol

Pretty damned sad when you welcome a thunderstorm strong enough you have to turn off pc just for the chance to be a few degrees cooler.....

This is the "coldest" Texas summer ever. I don't think I've seen us hit 100F yet.

...except for a blast of humidity and rain in mid-july, the weather in the city has been in the mid-70's, evenings in the low 60's; the valleys, add another 5-8 degrees, and then some more for the high and low deserts. except for the humidity, haven't had the a/c on at all! great all-around this summer!

After two cool summers across the eastern US---we have been having a pretty hot one----it has been in the 80s since June, with many days well into the 90s with high humidity and the dew point being well into the 70s faren which means a heat index into the low to mid-teens 100s.
I try not to complain too much though---after what was a pretty cold and snowy winter----I am glad we have had a summer that actually seems like a summer again.

Lately, it's been around 95, with the humidity at 100%... And it sucks too... The type of heat that when you step outside it instantly makes you wet (and not in the good way either)... Plus we just had a typhoon come through a couple of days ago... I'm actually in South Korea...

Has the weather been bad in Scotland. Oh, commiserations, Fran. Here in the Peak District we had a wonderful May and June, a hot, if mixed bag of weather, in July..but that is how it should be and August has begun, in much the same way. I call it ''monsoon weather''.....hot, humid and the occasional, sudden downpour of rain. Heck, after the rain, everything looks so beautiful.
We've had it good here and first day of autumn is not until September 23rd, my late grandmother's birthday.
Cheer up.....September and even October, can bring us that nice warm weather, at times.

The north got all of the rain.
Unfortunately was not able to get to the sea this time. SE England - it has been very hot to the extent that when it did rain it was warm. 90+°F in the shade. Watered the garden by standing underneath the spray. Water fights with neighbour. Exposed bits of me have gone toffee brown. Sun so hot that touching a car was dangerous and one wore clothes to avoid burning. Not much respite at night. A couple of nights I had the AC on to take the edge off (AC's now commonplace down south). Windows kept shut most of the time to keep the heat out until 5am briefly when some cool air was around. Periodically, that was compromised by the Icelandic volcano dust.
Cooling off now - at times clothes needed to keep warm - bugger.

Wow! How ironic is it that this subject came up. Two weeks ago it was so hot and humid all night long. I got up and showered and went down to get a cold drink from the fridge. I only had my underwear on. I opened the kitchen door to get some air moving. Forgetting that the newspaper is delivered about that time, it was around 5am, I heard a voice on the porch say "good morning". It actually scared the shit out of me. It was the paperboy. He isn't really a boy, he is in his early 20's. Well it seems he liked what he saw. About 2pm that day I got a call from him and he said that he was a bi guy and wanted to know if I'd be interested in getting together. Oh my, what a guy. We got together a couple of days later and we had the best sex and I didn't care how humid it was, this was hot!!

LOL right now @ 10am it's about 82f/28C and 90% humidity. True it is worse now, but it wasn't that much cooler at the end of May, and it won't cool down until the end of September. Typically after sundown, water condenses on the outside of my windows until about noon the next day. My air conditioner has been on since May.
What IS funny is I read an article recently about how we should get rid of air conditioning! How air conditioning is such an evil in the energy/global warming. I couldn't help but laugh and bite my tongue.
I wanted to respond "how about we keep air conditioning but make heaters illegal" Imagine the millions and millions (billions?) of barrels of oil we would save (and thus less emissions) by just saying 'no' to heaters. C'mon, realistically, it falls below freezing only a dozen times a year... tough it out people! Put on a sweater (fuzzy pullover thing), put on an extra blanket in January and wear a night cap, save the world and trash that heater!
After all, when it gets cold you can always put on more clothes.
When it gets hot, people just die. Look how many people are dying of heat while air conditioning is common!
Keep air conditioners, outlaw the real scourge - heaters (electric, gas, and oil - with ordinances against wood burning).

Okay it's becoming apparent I need to confess... the real reason I love LDD and want to move to NZ has nothing to do with his awesome personality or his great bedroom behaviour or even his sexy boyish smile, it's the fact he lives in a place that has a microclimate and it never gets as hot as it does here in summer or as cold as it does here in winter. Sorry babe but it's your weather that won my heart :tong:

The weather in central Florida has been pretty consistent. We've hit 100 a couple times but mostly it's 95-97. And humid.
After spending a long weekend in Las Vegas in June, however, I discovered that I LIKE the humidity. Air needs to have moisture in it. In Vegas the air sucked all the moisture out of my body when we went outside.
When we were in Los Angeles last weekend the weather was TOTALLY bizarre. It was in the 70's the whole time. We were told that the usual is in the 90's.
Maybe whatever is going on with the weather is just regional? The southeast is the same as always.

Too late. According to the info trickling out, NZ (mainly north island?) has been slowly adopted by rich USAmericans wishing to distance themselves from the threat of Islam.
Now all they need to worry about is the vampire parrots. However, one wonders of the old adage about eating USAmericans still holds true - they are too full of insecticide.

83 and very humid in the Big Apple but it has been in the 90s most of the summer and reached 100 one day.
I recently moved my office to lower Manhattan, and discovered that one of the advantages of the 'canyons of Wall Street' is that there is shade on both sides of the street.

ROFL Fran, you'd have to be good :)
We have had an actually cooling off here in Kentucky. Of course it's accompanied by storms that have already knocked my cable off once in the middle of a nice convo with my babe.
Almost on the chilly side in my house but I do not dare turn the ac off cause it would take too long to cool down when the 100's come back. Just relaxing and enjoying while it lasts.

enjoy it ducks; sent the cool weather eastward, now we are getting yet another blast of humid, overcast sky, heat, tho' not by the standards of other areas, but to us l.a. peeps, more than enough, city in the high 80's, pasadena where i hangout a lot, in the mid 90's, the inland valley to deserts, in the 100's! just as dear cat gets into town; as the flights into lax come in over the desert/inland valleys, the thunder clouds could make for a bumpy ride!
again, enjoy the cool weather, another summer blast is heading your way in the not so distant future!
