I've a mac and chat works fine.
Maybe you need to check your settings for the internet under system preferences.

On a Mac as well. Make sure you have the latest updates for your system software and browser plug ins. Also, make certain you don't have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings.
As for browsers, I had problems with Firefox, so I use Safari or Camino instead.

same here trouble with firefox i use safari to much better
