web browser closes entering chat

how come neither of the web browsers i use allow me to enter chat on this site?

How about telling us what web browsers you use? I use IE7, works fine, my partner uses Mozilla Firefox and he had to allow popups to enter. Are you getting any messages or anything before the browser closes?

it happens in both internet explorer and firefox. ie tries a couple of times to recover the tab and gives up. firefox just disappears. tried allowing pop-ups but that didn't work.

That is most definitely a java issue. This particular chat room uses java, but it uses it like a pimp uses a two dollar whore. Sometimes it's good, but very often they aren't on speaking terms.

got it figured out. had to re-install java.
