While this is not the usual subject matter, I am a bit emotional today...and I am thinking of those of you who have welcomed me here and those of you I have met and shared with as well.

I am a musician and music is very much a part of who I am, my soul, my very spirit

I heard this song today and it reminded me of all of you....so this song goes out to B, K, L, R, S, T, and new musical friends R & G ...may the words convey my feelings...and may everything we share become reality instead of just words on a page...

If I were standing in front of you I would pick up my guitar and sing this song...to you..

YOU LIGHT UP MY LIFE
So many nights I sit by my window
Waiting for someone to sing me his song
So many dreams I kept deep inside me
Alone in the dark but now
You've come along

You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song

Rollin' at sea, adrift on the water
Could it be finally I'm turning for home?
Finally, a chance to say hey, I love You
Never again to be all alone

You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song

You light up my life
You give me hope
To carry on
You light up my days
and fill my nights with song

It can't be wrong
When it feels so right
'Cause You....
You light.... up.... my.... life

Songs are connected to memories.

Their melodies bring heart aches, smiles and tears.

Songs/music remind me of times in the past, lovers, good times and bad.

There's one for every event of our lives.

Well said, Realist. And sometimes it's a song that expresses what we most want to say and can't quite find the words.

And music can be far more than that, even.

I had a riding buddy that once told me that I had my own theme song; Bad to the Bone, by George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers. Personally, I think that Kashmir, by Led Zeppelin, is more my style, as I have gotten older.

And music can bring out some very intense feelings, sometimes out of the blue.
