Wanted to USA to win gold but I think it's cool that the host country won such a big game.

It was a very close game. Good fight USA. I'm glad that we won. Ya...Sid Crosby (winning goal) and Roberto Luongo (goalie). Score 3-2 in overtime.

This gives Canada 14 gold medals. This is the most number of gold medals won by any country during a winter Olympics during all of the Olympics.

The USA won the most medals with 37. Germany is second with 30 medals. Canada is third with 26 medals.

Good on ya VANOC!!!!

It was an enjoyable game. The Winter Olympics is about the only time I watch hockey, the rest of the time I couldn't give a puck :p

If the Americans had to loose, I am glad it was to a great host team and our great neighbors.

I'm a huge hockey fan but this Olympics Ice Hockey games (all of them) were so much fun to watch. The Olympics were more fun to watch then NHL games.

Yes, Canada was the favorite. They had 15 NHL (national hockey league) all stars. They had 3 of the top 5 point scorers in the league.

The USA were not even supposed to play for a medal. They were the youngest team and only had 4 NHL all stars. They only lost 1 game (todays game) and even that game they lost in over time.

USA has major underdogs and played way beyond their capabilities.

Most Valuable Player award for the Ice Hockey Olympics was given to the USA goalie. What does that say? To me it says this team played their hearts out, left their egos at the door, played with class, and have NO reason to hang their heads.

Hopefully every USA team watched this series and learned something...

Canada won the most gold medals BUT USA won the most combined medals..

Gotta love that the USA 1st goal was a Vancouver Canuck scoring on the Canada goalie who also plays for Vancouver Canucks. Thats what I love about the Olympics. 2 good friends who play for the same NHL team are now enemies because they play for different countries... Gotta luv the Olympics...

FYI: I hate Crosby bigtime. I wished it was any other player to score..

What a amazing game!!!!! It was so close. I think both teams were well suited. It was shear luck that Crosby got it.

And dude, no one is enemies with anyone!!! They are athletes , team mates and very good friends. What are you talkin about?

And Sidney Crosby? Fuckin Hot!!!!! Again what are you talkin about?

Sorry man, Miller is not an excellent goalie. He's FUCKING great! If he does not win the Vezna(sp?) the NHL's MVP for goaltenders then, they need to get their heads out of their asses. He is by far the class of the league this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK ...rd

I thought that I'd share something with our southern brothers and sisters just in case they may not know

...There was a bet between PM Harper and President Obama. Obama owes Harper a case of beer...Canadian (brand name) of course, eh?... Harper is suppose to be a hockey fanatic historian and Obama...Black Hawks fan?

Personally, I wouldn't drink that beer anymore but it is the symbol that counts...lol

I think it kind of fitting it was 30 years since the last time since Olympic hockey games got so much attention when the US team beat the Soviets in that great game back in 1980.

While I do wish the US team would have prevailed---what a great game--if someone was writing a ficticious story of the games and ya had the final big game going to overtime and all----the script would probably be rejected for being too cliched and such.

While the games had their glitches at first like too much warm weather, the ugly chain link fence surrounding the Olympic torch--and a tragedy with the death of the Georgian sledder even before the games began---these games were great.

It seems that there were many great stories out of these games with athletes in many sports from many nations rising to give some incredible performances---I have sure enjoyed them and will sort of go into a bit of a withdrawal period when a long term sports event like this comes to an end.

Canadians should be proud---you guys put on a good show with these games and you sure had your fair share of great performances by your athletes as we did.

Between us, for the most part----it was almost the Canadian-US winter games!

We can both do our share of gloating----We both RULED!!!!!:bigrin:

The bouquet of flowers presented to each medalist on the podium – 1,800 in all – were all the same, made up of green spider mums with hypericum berries surrounded by leather-leaf fern, monkey grass, and aspidistra leaves.

They were all made by Just Beginning Flowers, a non-profit company in Surrey, BC, that employs women who are just out of prison, abused, fighting addiction, or with special needs, and teaches them how to be florists.

I think all the bitching about the Canadian gals have their little bit of celebrating on the rink was much ado about nothing----to me--it really didn't hurt anything--and besides--they are hockey players--you know they are not shrinking violets sitting on their hands being "good little ladies" or are ICE DANCERS!! LOL---those Canadian hockey chicks ROCK!!!

Frack the all the wussies who got all bent out of shape about their partying!!!

Belle had it exactly right. Yes, we Yanks had to root for our team, but if we had to lose, it could not have been to a better opponent and a more gracious host country. I was more than happy to watch a GREAT game, and that Team USA acquitted themselves as well as they did. GO CANADA!

...and as for the women's team celebration...was anyone really surprised that they drink beer and champagne even though some of them are under 18? I mean, come on! They are HOCKEY PLAYERS! Would there have been such a stink if the men's team had done the same thing? Give it a rest, already.
