I have a crush...a big one! It's for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer! I've always been either a Vintage Truck or European Sports Coupe kinda guy (1960s). I live in CT, it snows...so the Coupe is definitely out of the question.

Anyway, this thread is dedicated to your favorite Cars or Trucks! Post some pics of em and share your stories.

Lets have a fun non-sexual thread on here!

For Cars;
1965 Ford Mustang, US Army M151A1 1/4ton truck (aka Jeep - circa 1970-79), Maclaren F1, 1975 Chevy Nova SS.

I am also adding motorcycles:
1984 Honda V65 Magna, 1986 Yamaha XV700 Virago, 1961 Vincent Black Shadow, 1955 Royal Enfield, 1989 Honda GL1500/6 Goldwing, 1983 Honda GL1100 Goldwing, 1982 GL650 Silverwing and 2007 Honda VTX 1800.

Good thread! Big Jeep wagons...go anywhere and ride smooth, too! Great engines, either with the AMCs, or Buicks.

Cars: '28-'31 Model A Ford with a '49-'53 flathead V8 in it. Jeep CJ2, CJ3A. '55-'57 Chevy. VW beetles, Oh, don't get me started...there's many more!

I agree about the M151-series vehicles, too!

I loved a few motorcycles, too. '41 Harley 45ci Military surplus bike (bought it in '53, for $50!) A couple of R-65 Beemers, Yamaha RD350, Honda CB750, Sachs 250 in Germany, Honda CB 350, '71 Harley AMF Sportster (Worse bike I ever owned!)

We better find some fuel efficient vehicles, pretty soon, because a scientist told me that gasoline will be $5, or more, a gallon, soon! He thinks the government will take over the refineries and gas quality and availability will get worse. Damn, I had a '72 Datsun 1200 that got 40 mpg, easily! Wish I still had it...I could fix that sucker!

I wish I had a picture of favorite car ever....a 1987 Toyota Supra. I had both an 87 and and 83 and could those cars perform. It handled like a dream and taking highway off ramps was the most amazing challenge. I loved to take my love of geometry and try banking the curves at a different angle all the time. The only downfall of the car was that it did not perform well in the snow. I used to put six cinder blocks in the trunk to keep it from being like a sled in the snow. I miss those cars.

Now I drive a Mercedes S 320 that handles like a dream. The safety of a wide heavy car with an engine that cranks up when I hit the pedal to the metal.

OO good thread indeed...

my fave car to drive was my 1970 Toyota Crown Classic Sedan, 4 door...rode like a Caddy (think "body by Fisher")...that satisfying "thunk" when I closed the door :). Mine was light blue. Everything was auto: windows, retractable antenna, trunk opener....seat adjustment. VENT WINDOWS ! ... ah those were the days. *LOL*

my second fave (for sheer wow power) was my (c.)-1960 Checker Cab that my brother bought for me; rode like a tank. People used to laugh at little me drivin this HUGE boat. I loved it.

Is there a WRONG answer?

Is there really a car in that picture?

I can't remember, is the Skyliner the retractable top, or convertible?

lol! Thats my car! I Adored mine. I had it about three months and absolutely Loved it. My oldest son went and picked up some stuff that I had forgotten for me and was going to meet us at a little local resturant. Well he was coming thru the intersection when a druck MF'er ran the light and caught him broad-side on the drivers side. The thick door frame was what saved him from being hurt or killed. The bad thing was, we were sitting next to a large window and Saw the whole thing..we were like 200 yards away...and so was the cop who had just pulled into the parking lot; he saw it too..

The whole door was crushed in, and he was sooo lucky. The sturdyness of this particular model saved his life, or kept him from being seriously injured. I beat feet for the street to go to my Son, and he was already crawling out of the passenger side madder'n a nest of hornets!!!
The drunk wasnt so lucky. He wasnt in a very sturdy vehicle and smacked his forehead on the steering wheel. lol

I miss my Wagoneer, it was a great vehicle. :(

1974 VW THING !

I had forgotten about the Thing. Had a Sr. NCO who drove his out to the range. He had painted it in official Camo pattern so that he could sneak it out there and back without anyone throwing a fit.

When I was a teenager we had a neighbor who had two Mercedes Benz 300 SLs, a gull-wing coupe and a roadster. But I was even more impressed by his Arnolt Bristol Bolide. In addition to its incredibly sexy sculpted bodywork the sound of its straight six engine was nearly orgasmic.

I really like old pick up trucks from the late 40s to late 50s too---when I was down in Florida--I saw a really sweet 1949 Ford F-100 pickup that some man had at a car show. It was all restored, painted richly in a pale green color.

It would be fun to have an old ride like that for one of those pretty weekend days to cruise around in, take a little road trip in. Use volunteer to use it in parades to carry people.

Another fun vehicle to get to put into parades---get an old fire truck and restore it----maybe paint it that funky light "safety" green color some fire departments use for their equipment---and have all the emergency lights changed to green caps---especially good for St Pat's Day parades!!

for an off the road truck it would have to be the u.s.m.c. m54a2c- 5 ton 6x6.

for a hotrod or street looking car, it would be the 1956 chrysler spartan 300 special edition with the 392 hemi dual quads electric fuel pumps ect. had one only a few made, just love the way it drove. would bury the speedo over 160 mph.

for a big truck it would have to be a 1989 anniversary edition 379 peterbuilt with the 425 cat and 13 speed. walkin sleeper of course.

for a fun vehicle it would have to be a u.s. army duck, a truck that will float and act as a boat when in the water.

All of these are great vehicles, but I still love my truck. Its a big black and silver F-150, that has over the last year turned into an F-165......(Imagine little stickers on the drivers door in the shape of men. Get the picture?) lol

Been on the Ducks that they have at the Wisconsin Dells. Those were really cool. We had one down here that was part of some tour of some kind.

Built a model of one when I was a kid. One of the few ground vehicles that I built models of.
