The photoessayist Zombie (http://www.zombietime.com/folsom_sf_2007_part_1/) did a piece on the Folsom Street Fair.
She also did a piece on a similar San Francisco event, the Up Your Alley Fair (http://www.zombietime.com/up_your_alley_2008/part_1_full/index.php).
Both would be great to go to.
