The song went, "There's a kind of Hushhhh all over the world tonight"... Well its kinda/sorta like that today for Mother's (and Father's too) all over the country today. I saw women putting their kids on the school busses then doing the "Football" dance right there on the sidewalks. Many of them "Chest bumped" each other(Ow) and many even made the sign of the cross for the poor bus drivers.

Places like Starbucks and little corner bistro thingies had to stock up ahead, preparing for the herds of women that would be hitting them. Extra sweets were baked and bought just for this auspicious occasion.
All over the country there came that famous audible sigh...the sigh of women settling down in a comfy chair or at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee, tea, whatever and listening to the sounds of silence in the house. (Dont tell me you havent done this at least Once in your life!!)

For some reason the coffee, tea, whatever tastes So good this morning as you sip its magnificence and nibble on something good. You've worked hard for a solid week to get the laundry caught up, get the dusting and polishing finished, do the bathrooms and floors ahead of time just for this day. Today is Your day..free to go to the Mall and just walk aimlessly, just looking at places in the mall that you never even relized was there, because you were always on the Other side of said Mall in the children's section, or arcade. You are Free!.....Until 3:30 when that big yellow vehicle comes back down the road, or until you have to go pick them up and bring them back home.

So my Sisters (And Brothers that are raising children) relish in your quiet and freedom this day! A day that Should be made a national holiday to be celebrated once a year! I salute you! (And I thank the Spirits that mine are done grown..lol)
Cheers!

Ahhhhh *stretches and relaxes for a moment*

This morning was crazy, but thankfully all the kids were excited and no one overslept and all were ready early in fact. The bus was late and I almost sent two of my kids to school without their backpacks even though I was wearing both of them! lol...

Spent a lot of my morning, doing a thorough cleaning of the house....

And since I don't have any pussy to eat, I just enjoyed a nice tuna sammich.. *Sigh*

Seriously considering taking a my first hot undisturbed bubble bath in 7 years...

Thank you Cat for the smile :)

Heck, the kids went back to school around these parts on Aug 20th. Those giant yellow, rattling child transportation units have filled my streets for weeks now.

My little guy doesn't start school until Friday, but I'm not quite as excited about it (although I am excited for him). He is going to start Kintergarden. It's another sign that my baby is growing up. I have spent the last week replaying the day we brought him home in my head. We were foster parents. I got a call at work around 1:00pm that there was a little boy who needed a foster home. I literally ran across my office building to tell my husband at the time (we work in the same place) about the call. I was so excited I didn't get a bit of work done the rest of the day. We picked him up at 5pm from our local children and youth agency. He was 2 years old and the smallest little guy you've ever seen wearing a little grey scooby doo t-shirt. He was quiet the whole way home, and for the first few days you never saw him without his thumb in his mouth unless he was eating, and even then sometimes it was there.. Lol. That was truely the happiest day of my life.

Fast forward and he is 5 years old and going to Kindergarten. I can't believe how fast he has grown up.

So, while I'm sure next year I will one of those parents giving chest bumps at the bus stop, this year I'm a little sad to see him go.
