But there are some that actually work, right? I mean, not in a whole "creepy" way, but ones that work logically so that everybody comes out with the same answer and thinks "Oh my gosh, it's magic!"?

They are numbers games, nothing special. You can design them working backwards so that 'most' people will reach whatever conclusion you want them to.
