It depends on what types of work you want to do.

I did think about doing various different types of porn but I'm really glad I didn't.

From what I've heard and understand if you're doing it for the money you are doing it for the wrong reason as you don't get paid a lot at all, and with today's instant internet porn there are tons of people who make amateur porn and put it online for free, and anyone with a digital camcorder or digital camera can make porn.

Keep in mind that if you are a private person you will be giving up a lot of that privacy when you do porn, and that studios even the amateur/small ones tend to go through people very fast.

It's not like the 1970s anymore and even though there are still major studios that have a lot of pull and money they are the ones that get the money and some of them could care less about the people in their blue movies.

A lot of people who are porn "stars" wind up becoming prostitutes/escorts to make money as you don't make it from the videos.

A friend of mine did phone sex but he said how after awhile he got bored of it.

Another friend of mine was a stripper and she got bored of it and didn't like how a lot of her female coworkers were prostitutes on the side, and all the drugs that were used.

You live in the hotbed of the industry. Go for it. But like DD says, the money for men isn't very good and anyone with a HD cam can make movies and you can put up a web site cheap. Find a nitch market seems to be the way to go.
