Photos of this sort never fail to totally amaze me----I look at those photos of those vast expanses of space--filled with all that energy, stars, dust and all--I do wonder--what is going on out there??? I really do hope that someday---we (humanity) get over all of our stupid shit and build the equivalent of the Starship Enterprise so we can do real and amazing things like "GETTING OUT THERE!!!" and not fighting about "stupid shit" things like gay marriage, abortion, "socialized health care" and that we want to fill our minds with more important things than who the fuck wins on shows like "American Idol," "Survivor" or who the celebrity hottie of the nanosecond is fucking right now!!!!
Sorry for my editorializing and venting a bit--but to me--you look at those photos of those nebulae, stellar gas clouds and you know there is something big out there----and we are part of it---I just wished we as a species were more focused on spending our energies as people and our resources of the bigger society on bigger goals than our own self-aggrandizement!! We have important shit to do out there as a species I feel and we are wasting far too much of our time and resources focused on "little things."
I do honor those scientists and researchers who are doing this important work----and that we do at least spend some of our treasure on trying to decipher "the secrets of the universe"--I just wished that more people thought it important to do so!!!
