Well--for those who want to see some photos that will hopefully make you chill out--and especiially for those who honor the summer Solstice---here are some photos I took this morning as the sunrise came to my little corner of the world---some are on "the pond" that is our connection out to the bigger lake of "seasmoke" rising from the warm water---and some photos of the rapidly growing corn just out my door--and in my backyard----a few seasons back---I created my own version of a "bottle tree," which is something that is an old southern tradition--that came from the former slaves. Traditionally---people would hang bottles of all sorts on strings from the branches of small trees--I have a few trees on my lot--but they are ancient, huge maples (that at one time were tapped by seasonal workers in the spring to get sap to make maple syrup). The idea of the bottle tree was much like that of the Native American "dream catcher"--bad dreams and such are supposed to get trapped in the bottles as they are supposed to do in the web of a dream catcher.
I had to make my own version of a bottle tree using an extra post left over from building some docks, drilling holes and placing dowel rods in them to place the bottles upon---in the pre and post dawn light--with the bottles having the morning dew and spider webs on them-in the eye of the camera lens----made a great photo subject--I have many more of them---what I have here of all the photos are but a sampling of what I took----I hope that for whatever reason--those who view the photos enjoy them. Here they go and continue for several posts to put them all up
Finishing up this particular post---are some photos looking out to the east towards the rising sun and out over the cornfield--and then---photos of the corn itself--covered with the morning dew.:
