These last two were some photos I took of one of two dredge machines that operate on the lake---I find that photos of machinery such as this can make for some interesting photos.

I'm a big fan of the wildlife photos....especially birds. Nice shots of the heron.

For those who are interested and asked what camera I am using---I recently stepped up from a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 ultrazoom digicam to a digital SLR camera---the one I bought is a Nikon D40--which is certainly not the most advanced camera out there--but it has been a workhorse DSLR camera for the past four or five years for professional photographers, photoenthusiasts and hobbyists and those who wanted something better than a simple point and shoot digicam.

I got mine as a package deal with the standard 18-55 mm Nikon Nikkor wide angle lens and a 55-200 mm Nikkor telephoto lens.

I am loving the camera thus far--while I did take some great photos with the Lumix--I just felt I had to make the step up to the SLR.

I am sure in the not too far distant future--I will step up again to an even better camera---I hope to move up to a full sensor frame, pro grade Nikon--but for now--this cam is doing me just fine.

Once upon a time a famous photographer was asked by a neophye what kind of camera he was using, and how did he manage to take such exquisite photographs... the photog's answer was "f8... and be there".

IMO complimenting a photographer on his equipment is akin to complimenting a typist on his/her typewriter. Before excellence there must be vision. Volty has it in spades.

Peg ( f-16 ) good work volty :)
