I always love the response of homophobes when I post that in response to "Being gay isn't/ain't natural!"

National Geographic is an amazing source to blow this whole idea out of the water, and this just gets the word around even more!

And I'll just throw this out as well. Transsexual animals have been observed and documented in virtually every species they've been looked for. At least in every species that has males and females. Biologists don't seem to have a problem with this (as with variation in sexuality) as a natural phenomenon - why does society need to take such issue?

I had a female black and tan dachshund. Molly was one of the best dogs I ever had, but she had a quirk. My neighbor had a female cat that Molly just loved...their relationship went beyond being just buddies. They used to lick each other in the mouth and they'd lay in the grass grooming each other for hours. The first thing Molly would do each morning was run next door to find that damned cat. I'd often seen Molly with her short little front legs around the cat's waist, humping away......the cat would hold still and let Molly continue until she got tired, or maybe had some kind of little dog orgasm. I swear, afterwards they both seemed to be smiling!

I have to admit, I was a little distraught........not about her being bi, but I just wouldn't think that any self-respecting dog would want to hang around a CAT!

(Best southern reverend voice) "Now all my brothers and sisters. This thing is no natural phenomenon. It is the work of the Devil. The End of days. Next they will start kidnapping us humans. Having homo sex with our wives and husbands, forcing us to use berries and twigs in Ungodly ways to satisfy their devilish needs. There will be half human and half peacock people walking round. Your great great grandchildren may have a tail! Save your souls and Raise your guns. It's our only chance of salvation"

Now seriously.. You know what I find sad? In a lot of libraries, all over the United States, there was even a school library book ban on the childrens book "And Tango Makes Three." Which is based on a true story. It's a really cute story. But the homophobia doesn't stop there with that. The original title of "Gay feet" Had to be changed to "Happy Feet" Just so it wouldn't get an R Rating.

Religion. Inspires so many people to help others get to heaven by giving them a taste of hell on earth for their perceived transgressions.

I don't recall the name of the documentary now--but I caught the tail end of it on a local PBS station a few years ago---I only saw about the last ten minutes or so of it---but the film was done by a gay person who had been born in southern Indiana but had left for one of the coasts, in the part of the state just across the river from Louisville, KY---with the story focusing on gays and lesbians who had stayed in that area and how they came to live their lives in such a place---its pretty much a rural place--really very much a southern feel to it--and of course--one of those places very much a part of "the Bible Belt" so its not a very progressive place to say the least and not at first blush being all that "gay friendly."

The people there though were pretty philosophic about homosexuality----the part I saw was finishing up profiling a young woman who was lesbian--she had found a girlfriend and they had set up housekeeping together on a farm they had bought---they were interviewing the girl's parents--they were "salt of the earth" types--being that mix of southern/midwestern folks---the dad said this about homosexuality: "I know the preacher at the church says that homosexuality ain't a natural thing-but he didn't grow up on a farm---I've been a farmer all my life and I can tell ya--it seems that homosexuality is a natural thing---all the animals in the barnyard: cows, pigs, horses, dogs, cats all have that kind of sex!"

During the interview--they cut to scenes of some male "barn animals" having sex with other male animals of the same species.

They said that they accepted their daughter and still loved her. They also accepted their daughter's partner as well.

"That is just the way she is," said her parents.

For those religious types that hold the notion that "homosexuality ain't a natural thing and animals don't do things like that"-I say once again-it is either your ignorance or arrogance talking---and you are most certaily wrong--homosexual behavior is very common in the animal kingdom---as it is a natural thing in human beings too----it just doesn't serve their purposes to accept the reality--but then again--"reality has a decidely liberal bias" as a wise man likes to say!! lol

yes they are! notice that if you pet a friendly dog -For instance, a male dog, warms up to a man, a women, a kid or any dog-friendly person-obviously they are not decrimminating, how could they be. they're animals, dogs-really they show us howfucked up some people can be. in regards to relations with living beings I really think a dog or any domesticated pet is Not gonna turn down being touched-well over a 1000+ animals, snakes, catfish(not all), add the beaver groundhog, etc, etc-simply a fuller range of relating-want to know if your at odds with the natural order-humans have the brain to enjoy thier sexuality, but many will not, cannot realize that we too are part of the natural order, and near or at the top of creation-its natural-always been here
