CANYON COUNTRY -- The coroner's office says adult film star Marilyn Chambers died of natural causes.
Chambers, whose real name was Marilyn Ann Taylor, was found dead April 12 in the 16000 block of Vasquez Canyon Road in Canyon Country.
She was 56.
The coroner's office conducted an autopsy two days after the body was found, which indicated that most likely the cause of death was natural, but additional toxicological tests were required for confirmation.
Those tests showed Chambers died of the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage and aneurysm related to heart disease, according to the coroner's office.
Toxicology tests also indicated the presence of two drugs, hydrocodone and Citalopram, but she did not have a higher amount of either drug in her system than would be normally prescribed, the results showed.
Chambers broke into the porn industry by appearing in the 1972 film "Behind the Green Door," which was the first widely released pornographic film in the United States.
Her appearance in the film cost the then aspiring model and actress her job as Procter & Gamble's Ivory Snow girl, appearing on the soap box with a baby and the caption, "99 & 44/100 % pure."
