Personally, I rather loathe the "P" word. And calling it a "c" is beyond imagination.

With friends when getting specific (or a lady lover) its sometimes a "fanny" or "my front."

Whilst actually using it I tend to avoid using any proper nouns: I far prefer verbs.... :bibounce:

I'm with you on this innaminka. The 'p' and 'c' descriptions are offensive. :eek:
I don't have any names for it, but will usually refer to it as "the downstairs"

Cheers

This is news to me!! I have never hear a female not like the word pussy. Cunt yes, but not pussy. Yes it can be a dirty word and there are times I know not to say it but that some actually loathe the word was beyond me. Thank you for enlightning me a little more. I never try to offend and I always have used the word so much love since I love it so much. Can you tell me why you dislike the word? And if its used in a loving way do you still feel the same way? As I said I never try to offend , quite the contrary and am just tring to understand as to not offend in the future. Thanx :flag1:

I don't hate the word but to me it refers to a Cat not to me, Makes you wonder who thought of that slang for it. Just like you males have slang for yours. Bieng from the south we have some very unique names for body parts. For the ladies is a "twat". I can't think of anyother names but the ones you called it. Actually I never really call it anything except when I go to the dreaded GYN. My mother bieng the prude she called it "the private area"

Now just FYI,,Incase you never heard of this for a male body part. "Tallywacker"

Wild, I think the safest strategy is to ask your partner what she calls it.

Personally I always say "pussy," but I have known women who said "cunt" - that still sounds a little too strong for me, though.

CL and I usually refer to "it" as her pussy.....however depending on how wild and crazy we get we do use the "c" word. I had forgotten about calling it a twat....have to run that one by her....LOL

I have to agree with some of the others. My husband and I say pussy. And sometimes in e-mails or letters we say the "c" word but only if the letter is hot and heavy. "twat" was what I was told it was called when I was younger so I can't imagine calling it that now just because I'd feel like a kid again. But as long as your getting the point across about what you want done where and when it can have any name.....lol

i head this one from a lesbian friend of mine a few years ago...i still use it at times. "Princess" ... it's such a pretty name for it. :) if i have a partner i refer to it as "her" when talking about it

Pussy is only appropriate for the bedroom or occasionally what my husband calls his friends when they're being little girls about things...c*nt is the dirtiest, nastiest thing that has ever been said to me. An ex-boyfriend said it once and I slapped his face. Twat is what we used to call each other when we were in middle school.

As a mother, I call it "Mama's potty place", but as a sexgoddess and wife, almost anything else my husband calls it is okay! I occasionally call it my nether-region, but I've never really had a nickname for it, and probably never will.

Pussy, Cunt, Twat, Snatch, Gash, Hole, Fanny (in Britain), Kitty, Snackbar,......does it really make a difference what we call it? I think as long as the people who call it ______ in the intimacy and passion of the moment are comfortable with it, then more power to them.
And just to be fair....
Cock, Tallywhacker, Pecker, Rod, Schlong, Johnston, Dick, Old One Eye....
and the list goes on.
Great day to all!!

(in uk) 'twat' is used as derogatory term not dissimilar to 'cunt'... but i am saddened to hear that all the names used for female genatalia are also experienced as insulting ... :(

tom_ uk n i experience the same dilemma, hence tom posting this thread :rolleyes:

... surely, in this 3rd millenium, womens vaginas need not be referred to as a feminine version of Harry Potters nemesis 'Voldamort' (She Who Shall Not Be Named!) but rather could have a name that is worthy of her warm, scented, bittersweet, intimate, mysterious powers... mmmmmm oo'er sorry, drifted off for a moment there :tongue:

... 'honeypot' is another name i have heard but i personally feel is too sickly sweet to even touch on being adequate.. let alone good enough...

... the search goes on..! :female: :female: :female: :female: :female:

My grandmother used to call it "possible" - as in "start at the top and wash down as far as possible, then start at the bottom and wash up as far as possible, then wash possible."

I've heard "yoni," but that's just a little too New-Age-yoga-and-granola for me.

Is it a reflection of societies approach to female sexuality that men have millions of words for their penis; none of which, I think, cause offence to men and women have so few words for vagina.

Is it a question of ownership of the sex act; names give ownership?, and you have to admit men do, on the hole, own sex. (or so we think)

I often think that women should reclaim or introduce female words that cover sexual activities. Not embarrassed or clumsy words like “down below”, “pussy” or god forbid “honey pot” but words that they can own.

The best I can come up with is

Male = Hardon
Female = Wideon

Male = Cock, Prick, …….
Female = Portal

I like the idea of ….. hey you boy stick your “down below thingy” in my hot portal NOW ……

Good thread......actually 'portal' is growing on me too!! :bigrin: Hubby calls it pussy or kitty...or 'da hole'....often refered to as she. Cunt is for porn and those cam whores on yahoo. I'm not crazy about any of the general terms. Snatch is a verb, not a noun....Twat? Reminds me of Tweety Bird....lol Gash...I have one of those on my arm. Yes, I think it's time to come up with a *good* name for our opening.........

:bigrin: Personally I think "Pussy" has a sweet ring to it. It's diffently better than the "C" word. I use that in anger. However, consider the alturnitives: Snatch,gash, snapper or how about"Cum Dump?".

Sweetness is the only way to describe the 5 senses that stimulate our brains.

Just gotta say, I personally love the word 'cunt'. It is a very strong word - but that is why I love it. Since I work with women in childbirth though, whenever I'm speaking to a client I use the standard professional and technical 'vagina'. :rolleyes:

I have not, Driver, but I've heard of it and I'm certainly going to check it out. I did read a book called Cunt (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1580050751/qid=1139494712/sr=12-1/002-2968592-1959243?s=books&v=glance&n=283155) by Inga Muscio a little while back. All about the power of a cunt and having one. Really very empowering and inspiring. Women and men really should check it out.

OMG!! My great aunt, we called her Nana, used to say this when we would stay with her, and take a bath. "I'll wash up to possible, then down to possible, but YOU wash POSSIBLE!!" We would laugh!! I have never ever heard anyone say this. Matter of fact, when I read this thread the other day, that is the first thing I thought of, but didn't comment-- figured others would think it was weird!! LOL When my "friends" ask me whats for dinner... I say "YOU are gonna eat at the 'Y' tonight" lol I usually call her my "girly perfect girly part" (lmao B) Not too fond of the alternatives. And never wanted to give her a name. Princess is cute, but I have a family member whose name is Sarah, and Sarah means princess, so that would not be good to think of her while trying to get aroused!! lol

I'm not sure why women have a hard time finding a name for their "thing" (Hey, maybe that is a good name? LOL) I have heard various names like Mimi, Pokie, moon, etc. BUT I vote for Likalot's "Y"!!! I'll eat there EVERY day!!! LMAO

LOL The author rethought and added alot. The biggest change, from what I understand, was because her first edition excluded the transgendered and she wish to remedy that. There are some other points added to and/or clarified as well. This book is incredibly powerful and motivating. I highly recommend it.

:tong: I had a feeling that was a straight line (bi line?) that someone would take advantage of, but I wasn't sure how.

The biggest change, from what I understand, was because her first edition excluded the transgendered and she wish to remedy that.

That makes a lot of sense - it's a type of exclusion that's easy to fall into, but that plenty of people are willing to fix once they're aware of it.

I could imagine new research about the G-spot, STDs, etc. also resulting in changes, depending on the publication dates.

And it looks like the local library DOES have it - I'll request it in a few weeks when I'm less busy. Wonder if I'll get some funny looks from whoever's at the desk?
