As of 1.may, same sex couples can now get married in Sweden with all the same rights as heterosexual couples.But they can as yet not get married in a church, but that seems only a matter of time. Sorry, no english links

The same thing goes for Norway. The law was changed almost a year ago.

Meh.. I don't see a big deal with the church thing. Considering the churches historical standpoints on gays (and obviously bi's), why would we want to?

However, on the whole, this is pretty good news. I'm wondering when/if NZ will ever reach this point.

They don't need the Christian churches for it anyway. There are a lot of other religions that will be glad to take the money for the ceremony.
