Alfred Kinsey developed the kinsey scale after interviewing hundreds of men and women about their sexual behaviour and realised that there is broad range of sexual orientations between hetrosexual and Homosexual.

Klein refined kinsey's work to suggest that sexual orientation changes and is fluid.

See the link below for a simple online test based on the kinsey scale that takes into account kleins findings that sexual orientation is fluid and changes over time.

I'm a two, yay :three: . Seriously, I prefer an emotional relationship with both sexes but it's way too complicated. True bisexuality would suggest and emotional relationship between at least two couples where all members are equally loving and open with each other. That's a tough proposition.

The only aspect of the Klein grid that I disagree with is the 'Ideal' part of it. I would think that it leads to inaccurate results and doesn't represent a person's true feelings.
I'm sure that there are many gay, lesbian, and bisexual people out there who aren't comfortable with their orientation and would 'ideally' like to be straight, but obviously they can't change who they are, even if they wanted to...
Thoughts?

There was a movie a few years ago - I think I saw it playing one of the cable movie channels recently (don't see it now). I don't know if they amp'd up the dramatics for the movie but Kinsey seemed to be ..waaay.. open..I mean, near a heretic for the times when he was conducting this research.

For a little while there I almost thought he went too far, but then you hear the stores about sexual repression in the pre-60's US that they ALSO weave into the movie and I think what I realized is that the work he was doing, although what I considered to be a bit "over the edge" was desperately needed to counter the staunch attitudes of the times.

If you want to talk repression check this out - it's number 32 on the top most popular texts of Project Gutenburg web site right now:

It should be an interesting film.

The second link did not work, by the way.
