Thanks for the heads up! I would love to know how that goes. I may have to do the same for Denver!

definitely a good experience.
i had been going through a real rough patch because of my roommate situation and my dad having trouble with my sexuality. i just realized that he doesn't know that i still like girls, so i have some more explaining to do.
at the conversation group, there were a dozen or so people there, mostly men and mostly over 40. there was only one girl there that day and she and i were the only under 30s there. we were talking about how you can identify bisexuals (ie bidar) and i said, with girls, hot topic clothes and black/purple hoodies are a dead giveaway. I wear those too. Lo and behold, as if to drive my point home, sexy bi chick walks in, wearing a black and purple hot topic hoodie. i called it.
it was a good time. lovely fellows, just chatting about a lot of stuff that we talk about on this forum. it's one thing to interact with a computer screen and a keyboard, but another to hear someone talking to you about the same problems you go through. if anything, its helpful to know that i'm not the most screwed up bisexual in the world. clearly being born after stonewall was a lucky break.
its a good place to meet new friends. i met two older gents who were in the documentary film biz as well. we started talking about how there are not enough bi men in movies and tv (i brought up Torchwood several times during the night). we should do more writing, maybe hang out in the future, and maybe write a script together, someday.
all in all, a good way to spend one night a week.

I don't know quite where you are Kiraya, but in broadly your part of the world (I think) there's Birmingham Bi Group. Check the links on the Bi Community News page (http://www.bicommunitynews.co.uk/). :flag4:

Such an awesome positive experience! I could probably benifit from a group like that. I know they have them locally but have never really looked at them with much interest. Not sure why, as I have felt amazing in situations where I can be completely myself, seems so obvious to me ....now, that these types of groups DO create such comfortable enviorments.

That's awesome! What was the name of the Center that had it? I'd love to contact them about starting something like that in Denver.

It was at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, which, I'm told, is changing its name to the LA Center for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Studies. Or something like that.
The Bi group started out as small, with meetings twice a month, but is now weekly. also, they were talking about the first bi float in the LA pride parade and how it generated much interest in the next one.
