How sadly, true that statement is, Huney. Men killing each other is more acceptable then kissing or holding hands. The more "manly" a man is the less sensitive he's allowed to be. Why can't someone rough and rugged also be tender and caring? Why is it better to spew hate over how someone else loves rather then to just be at peace with your own life and mind your own business?

This is sad but true men are generally conditioned to be"macho"
thankfully most grow out of that. I live in a town where violence is becoming
accepted as part of life, as a middle aged man your more likely to die from a beating than a heart attack i wish for a more tolerant society

Originally the handshake was actuallly the grabbing of the penis. So the idea of the gun being better than a kiss must be hetro thing. :2cents:
guns are for hunting not for city A-holes

Ernest J. Gaines was born in 1933 in a town in Louisiana. He left Louisiana at the age of 15 and now resides in San Francisco. He is a writer and professor of english. Huney can you cite the context of this quote. Is it from one of his writings or from an interview. Since I was only able to learn that he is a black gentlemen from a photo, I am sure that there is more pertinent information excluded due to the misdirected political correctness currently in vogue.

The funny thing about this is that I asked my husband nearly the exact same thing the other night. Then I contrasted gay men and gay women in intimate situations. He couldn't give me an answer either way, and that gave me nearly all the information I needed. I answered the gay men vs. women argument. I think that straight men are more comfortable seeing gay women have sex only because of our packaging. Now my question is: Why do straight men and advertising companies make the idea of have a 3some with twins so titillating? I mean, I guess I just think that's disgusting. I wouldn't want to see my sister naked much less fuck the same guy she is, and if we did anything with each other, that's incest. I just think that people in general just try NOT to think too hard, it makes their tiny brains hurt.

oh my huney sweetie. the more i know about you the more i wanna throw my arms around you and embrace your lovely soul.
what struck me powerfully about this sentiment is that it is a stigma perpetuated by western civilization.
in many african, arabic and asian cultures- ESPECIALLY india- men holding one another's hands is perfectly acceptable. each of these cultures maintains homophobic sentiments in other ways, but hte act of men strolling publically hand in hand is in no way indicative of being buggering buddies.
its a cultural interpretation of intimacy. learned, enforced, punished if its transgressed in the us.
in thailand if you sit with your legs crossed and inadvertantly point your foot (toes) at someone is a huge offense.
remembering this reminds me of what a strange and unique place for gender and sexuality thailand is in the world.
where a man from a small, very poor village sought to become a woman. he persued obtaining enough money for his sex change by fighting to become the greatest champion of the most violently brutal sport know in the world. he fought his way all the way to lumpini stadium to win the muy thai champoionship belt. this is the national sport of thailand- and it treated with reverence. his effeminant-ness was never hidden from the general thai public. she now resides peacefully in bangkok, nowhere near the spotlight (last i knew.)
rent beautiful boxer.
hun, its a mad mad mad mad world.
