After reading thousands of personal ads from different sources over the years, I have found something rather curious, when it comes to how males refer to their penis.

In general: Guys that are straight, or more straight then gay, seem to refer to their penis as a "Dick" This also seem to be more frequent with young guys say under 25. On the other hand,...guys that are gay, or at least more gay then straight,...tend to call a penis....a "Cock" Also older men seem more likely to call their organ a "cock".

I have always been rather curious...why that is? Also...what word do most women use, when referring to a penis?

Just in case you are wondering....I call it..."COCK"

Hmmm, I generally prefer dick, but when I feel like being naughty or crass, I call it a cock.

I usually use what the moment calls for, for instance: someone insults me, I call them a dick head, or a cock sucker, or I may say suck my dick, as for reference when I refer to another guy sexually or myself, I say cock or dick, in other words, If I meet a cute guy I may say to him, I wanna suck your dick or I'd like to be impaled on you cock for an hour, I also use :
wazoo
Schlong
Wanger
pecker
rod
tool
but when I refer to mine I usually call it the destroyer.
hope this helped out:rolleyes:

Interesting question. I love the sound of the word, "COCK". I have a gay friend who I exchange erotic emails with. I always capitalize, as if to shout the word and it's arousing just to say it. COCK! COCK!

when I say cock it reminds me of bad porn where the guys go "ooo baby, suck my cock" and that annoys me.,...i call it a wiener. or, if the situation calls for some formality, it's a penis. I find "wieners" to be less threatening than "cocks". And i'll admit it, sometimes one of the reasons I;m not as into guys as I am to girls is because I find them slightly threatening.

I wonder if the character in the poem "Wee Willy Winky" was a kindred spirit?

Stop living in my HEAD!!!

My theory is similar to Lady Starlight's... but unlike her, I prefer cock... cock is aggressive, bold and forces you to pay attention to it.

Dick is more playful, cajoling.

You can negotiate with a dick. You DO NOT negotiate with a cock.

Depends on who (or is it whom)I am talking with.
Some times its my little guy, or, penis, or cock, or pecker. or tool, or sausage. I'll let you decide who gets which.

Hey everyone:
I thought I would share this nasty little e-mail that "MoneeGirl" sent me in regards to the subject of this thread.

OR, by email:
mailto:moneegirl@gmail.com

This is the message:

As a woman I gotta say your penis is small!

You can't please anyone with it and you're probably a bad fuck.

Why are you posting such idiotic posts about if a man calls his penis whatever?

Don't waste our time with such pointless posts.

Blackout agrees with me.

Thinking about it, I guess I tend to use the term Cock more often than Dick. Cock certainly does have that larger and/or more grown up sound about it, implying someone who knows what to do with and how to use it. Dick does conjure a more boyish, twinky image, which does nothing for me :P

So yeah, 'Cock' if I'm being crude and rude and naughty, 'Penis' if I'm being polite or scientific or otherwise formal and cleaner of mind about it.

Shaver,
Just goes to show you can't please everybody. But if she thinks you have a small COCK, I'll NEVER post a picture of mine. :)

I prefer the term "cock" and I LIKE being called a cocksucker, which brings up an interesting point; Why is the word "cocksucker" used as an insult when it's such a loving and pleasant thing to do and to have done to you? I have nothing but the highest regard for anyone who has been kind enough to have sucked my cock in the past and I feel similarly privileged by those who have afforded me the honor of allowing me to suck theirs.

I use the two terms pretty interchangably. But, I suppose as a general rule for myself, I usually use "dick" most often around people other than those extremely close to me like my partners or perhaps very best of friends. Around those closer, I freely use the term "cock". But like I said, I use them interchangably.

I don't like the words "penis" or "vagina". Just way to elementary for me. I also don't like the word "cunt" -- just isn't the right description for that part of the body.

Other than that, I'm not too picky on words and will say whatever flies into my head at the time.

I see dick as a casual reference to the penis. Cock feels more sexually powerful and thus more erotic to me. The phrase cock sucking feels more erotic to my mouth to say also, but I don't know if that makes any sense to anyone though. Hoo hoo dilly and peenie weenie are innocent terms for a penis that I use when the occasion warrents, like with a child or to be silly with adults.

If I'm talking during sex or trying to initiate it then its pretty interchangable but I err on the side of "dick" because it's seems to bother fewer men. If I'm being casual or just trying to refer to it I prefer "package" of "junk" because the penis and testicles go together in my mind.

Oh, Cock most definately. Why? Because it sounds more sensual to me. Dick just doesnt have a sexy 'feel' to it, and penis sounds too clinical.
Ok So which sounds better, or hotter?

"I took his hot, throbbing Cock into my eager moist mouth, and caused him to yell to the four winds"

Or,
"You aint got no Dick bigger'n that? For That thing I charge Double"

Or,
"Sir, if you dont take the Anti-biotics your Penis is going to turn green, and fall off"

"My Boss is such a Dick, and he is!"

Or:
"I could feel how large that Cock was as it pressed into my tight virgin ass..."

"Ewwww! I saw his Penis! I'm scarred for life! My retna's, my retna's!"

Get my meaning? :}

I can't believe there have been so many replies without anybody mentioning bi linguistics.

Anyhow, mine is a "knob", until I become aroused, at which point I'm unlikely to talk about it much. But "cock" definitely sounds like something ready for action, whereas a "dick" is more likely to be flaccid, in my mind. Perhaps state of arousal should be incorporated into this debate?

Not to sure, but COCK sounds dirtier, or maybe to be used in porn style...

DICK is something more accepted but not really dirty.... "Dude, did you see what she did to that man? She gropped his dick!"

Cock- oh my dirty, hard and penetrating.

I generally tend to use the term "Dick" or "Knob" in normal conversation [not that I really have that many conversations about my dick or other people's dicks ] but yeah, as many of the other posts have said, "Cock" does tend to be used in a more sexual context.

Other interesting terms for it:
- John Thomas (old fashoined name/euphemism for it)
- One-eyed trouser snake
- Knob (as mentioned earlier)

However in any homo sexual fantasy it turns in to a "cock" and obtains super powers.
