Ok, I can't even BELIEVE I'm considering this but what the hell...

The other day I saw a add needing a model to shave their head for a fetish photo shoot. The pay is 500 bucks. I don't know about any of you, but my family could use 500 bucks. My husband said "500 bucks just to shave your head and take pictures? Go for it!"...so I filled out an application and sent emailed a few pictures (mainly to make my husband happy). I didn't think much of it. I mean, I don't have a great body or a great face so modeling has always been something that I never thought I'd get hired for.

So, I get a phone call today. It's the guy who would be doing the photography for the photo shoot. He tells me that they have narrowed it down to three women, including myself. He said that the pictures I sent were great but before they make their final decision, they need at least one more full body picture of me wearing anything I feel comfortable in. He told me that as of right now, I am the top choice and the one they'll most likely go with as long as I can get the picture to them in the next few days.

I am...well...shocked! I went from never seeing myself fit enough to have anyone want to take pictures of me to being a top choice. I don't know how the HELL that happened but the fact remains that I am now in a position where I am considering going for it. What do you think?

I mean, hair DOES grow back

Just please be sure these people are on the up and up, serious and professional. Take hubby or other male escort with you when you go for the photo shoot or meet with them in person. BE SAFE. That's my only advice. Oh and to have a blast if you decide to do it.

They actually did ask me if I was planning on bringing an escort so they could have an extra seat ready for them and everything. So, they are already prepared for my husband to be there.

Sounds questionable to me. Get the $500 up front. And, I agree ... bring an escort (that has a .357 mag), just in case.

They asked me right out if I was planning on bringing an escort so they are aware that I will not be alone. I'm just wondering if I should shave my head is all! lol.

WOW you can get paid for that? I did it for free...DOH!
Seriously though if you think it would be fun go ahead and do it. You probably won't be comfortable with it at first but a good Photogragher can make you feel more at ease. Just try to have fun, it shouldn't be a chore. thats my :2cents:

Get the name of the studio/photographer and check them out very thoroughly. There are so many frauds out there and this could be just another scam.

Be absolutely sure because any legit photog or studio will not mind and most of the agencies out there will know them if they are legit. If they are new, then they may not be known, but you can also check with the police to see if any similar scams are being run and make sure that they are not con artists anyway.

In the beginning of the conversation he volunteered his name and the name of the guy who was running the site it was for. His name came up on my caller ID so he didn't give me a false name or anything like that. He also gave me a few of the websites that he was affiliated with and a few of the sites that the other guy owns. Those all have to be good signs right?

Not necessarily. Websites can be faked very easily. Check with modeling agencies and the police. If he's local, then the modelling agencies in the local phone book and make some inquiries. If no one has actually heard of him, then it is extremely likely that something else is going on.

Did he give you his business card? I've had photogs at faire take pics of us participants and they always have their business cards and distribute them freely to anyone that asks.

Like I said, check with the police and see if they have had any issues of fake photogs in the area or any inter-agency warnings of similar scams running in the state.

Remember that if it sounds too good to be true, then it most likely is.

I hope that the guy is legit, but I have known too many cops to not be suspicious of this.

I haven't met them yet to be able to get any kind of card.

Truthfully, I don't know how it could be a scam anyway. I'm not paying them anything, I'm getting money up front, and then I do whatever it is I'm supposed to do.

If you are getting money up front then it could be legit, but I just worry about the sting that comes after that. There are a ton of scams out there and most of them have gotten pretty complex. Just be careful. We don't want you to be caught up in one.

Rissa, A wonderful GF, years ago, shaved her head in empathy, because her close friend had cancer............. chemo made her lose her hair. Like you, she had a very pretty face and her head was nicely shaped, too. I found it strangely compelling to see her minus her beautiful honey-brown hair! I admit I was pleased when it grew back, tho!

Ya know, I always said that if any of my friends or family had to go through that I would lose my hair right along with them. I mean, I can't go through the whole chemo process with them obviously and my body wouldn't look like theirs after going through that treatment, but the least I could do is that. She sounds like she was a sweet person. Good for her for being there for her friend.

Well, I spoke to the photogropher again last night and, after sending him another full body pic, he's more sure than ever that I'm the one the director is going to go with..so ladies and gentlemen (and beastly little trolls...), it looks like I'm going to be bald soon...

Unless you get that condition that makes you lose your body hair--either via chemo or on its own----it does grow back in not too much time---I got shaved bald back on the day the bus pulled into boot camp at Cape May, NJ---at least you will probably get shorn in a much friendlier environment----you won't have drill instructors yelling at you telling you that you are a low life maggot!!!

I use to model and I'm not sure about this one.

Be careful some modeling jobs lead to human trafficking/slavery etc. Bring a knife, that's what I do when I go anywhere, but be prepared for anything.

I just don't see anything like this turning out right, but I could be wrong. Don't be naive just have your head on straight.

Well, VOlty, the Coasties do a fine job and they get my respect for it, but nothing is meaner or nastier that a Vietnam era Army or Marine DS. I can vouch for the Army DS from my own experience.

But you are right that the hair does grow back pretty quickly.

Yes it certainly does. I was mainly nervous because I have a few singing auditions lined up coming up soon and I didn't want to show up bald. A friend of mine is hooking me up with a wig though, so I don't feel so bad now.

And I did just find out today that they have officially decided to go with me so sometime this week I'm going to be doing. The photographers wife poses for head shaving fetish sites as well, and she's gonna be there to coach me. I'm kind of excited to meet her because she seems really cool.

I took a look at the guys main website last night and this looks like it could be a cool experience, even if I discover that my head being shaved makes me look like shit haha.

Ok...umm...my husbands brother just got a HUGE bonus from re-enlisting in the marines and decided to sharer some of it with some people in the family. So, he just gave us 500 dollars today. NOW...I'm having second thoughts about this modeling thing. I mean, I have professional goals in mind for myself in the future and I'm a mother. The last thing I ever wanted was nude photos of myself ANYWHERE on the internet, but I was willing to do it if it was going to help my family in a tight financial situation. Now that he gave us the money, things aren't so tight. I really don't know if I want to do this. It's in two days and they are planning on me being there. I don't want to screw them over or anything. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now.

If it's just the bald fetish with no nudity - I say go for it - and take your hubby and his brother (they won't stand a chance agaist a Marine if they try something)

And congrats of the extra $500 - that'll make $1000 if you do the shoot.

Be carefull rissababy - we love you.

You can always buy a wig after you shave your head. I would research the company first, make sure it is legitimate then get the money up front before agreeing to do the photo shoot.

Ever hear the one about the two women talking where one says, "I'm thinking about being in one of those xxx movies. I need the money, and anyway, who's gonna know about it?"

That's kind of like saying, "I'm considering not making the house payment next month. I need the extra cash, and anyway who's gonna know about it?"

Nobody, except the whole freaking planet.
