....It's actually snowing here in Augusta GA! LOL!!! It's not much or anything that should accumulate, but snow nonetheless!! BUT..it's surely enough to send thousands into a crazed mood to stock up on supplies and start driving like idiots! LOL!

To make sure you're getting the full effect of the paranoia pretend like you're going to be snowed in for a week and a half without food or power for no logical reason whatsoever.

Now, to complete the experience - quick, either drive 15 MPH or 80 MPH (but not in between) to the grocery store. Buy as much bread and milk as you can possibly carry - be sure to double-park your car and stand in line for at least a half hour to pay for it.

(apologizes to the folks up North and out West who really HAVE been in floods and without power for weeks this winter.)

Kate, I'm just up the road a bit from you in Washington. In '73, I think, it snowed 12 inches here. Shut down everything for 2 days and everyone just played in the snow and had a grand time. My college roommate was from Chicago and after moving to Atlanta, he was always amazed how the big city could be paralyzed by one inch of snow.
