Hey, I got a lot of responses to my thread about reality tv and tila tequila and all the rubbish that comes from media misconceptions about bisexuality, etc. just on that note alone, i googled bisexual celebrities and there's a page on wikipedia.
some of these names are kind of surprising. i know andy dick and pete wentz don't make us bi dudes look good, but did you know that JAMES DEAN and MARLON BRANDO were bi as well? How cool. (there's a really explicit picture of Brando going to town on a dude, which, assuming it's real, corroborates that theory.) James Dean was a notorious case, because, after his death, a lot of guys came forward admitting to have been in relationships with him, some just for money, though. Alec Guinness, who played Obi Wan Kenobi, Kristina Loken, the TX from Terminator 3, and Bille Joe Armstrong from Green Day, also make the list, as did Eleanor Roosevelt.
But, it also occured to me that some of these celebs are fakers, for whatever reason. I contrast Drew Barrymore and Madonna and I think you can find evidence in the way they handle their sexuality. Drew is clearly bi in the true sense, because she broke down in tears during the Prop 8 rally (I wasn't there, but I almost was. Shoot.) On the other hand, Madonna barely made a peep about Prop 8, and doesn't seem to be queer at all, unless she's snogging a bird on stage for shock value.
Robert Downey Jr., I think, was MISunderstood to be bi. I don't think he ever claimed to be, and got misinterpreted by the public. Too bad, he would have been a great addition to our team. Iron Man, and all.
Angelina Jolie is so badass, I really WANT to believe she is bi. She's the chick I most want to BE, even though I'm a guy. My roommate hates her because of the whole Brad Pitt thing, but I'm like, "She's a bisexual rebellious chick with tattoos, who goes around doing charity and trying to save the world. What's now to like?" Again, in interviews, she's admitted to a relationship with a girl and I think she's the genuine article.
Anymore you know of? This is cool. I didn't know that we had that in common with Obi Wan, James Dean, and Marlon Brando. I like being pleasantly surprised like that. It's about time we had someone who wasn't Pete Wentz or Andy Dick.
Of course, no bisexual celebrity question would be complete without the ultimate riddle: Lindsay Lohan.
