OK OK so there are a lot of special people here - and you know who you are, too.

But there is, at least to me, one very special person.
I heard this song playing on satalite radio and I thought of you.

Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don't know how many times I've wished that I had told you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you

Oh I'm beginning to think that man has never found
The words that could make you want me
That have the right amount of letters, just the right sound
That could make you hear, make you see
That you are drivin' me out of my mind

Oh I could say I need you but then you'd realize
That I want you just like a thousand other guys
Who'd say they loved you With all the rest of their lies
When all they wanted was to touch your face, your hands
And gaze into your eyes

Perish is the word that more than applies
To the hope in my heart each time I realize
That I am not gonna be the one to share your dreams
That I am not gonna be the one to share your schemes
That I am not gonna be the one to share what
Seems to be the life that you could
Cherish as much as I do yours

Cherish is the word I use to describe
All the feeling that I have hiding here for you inside
You don't know how many times I've wished that I had told you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could hold you
You don't know how many times I've wished that I could
Mold you into someone who could
Cherish me as much as I cherish you

And I do cherish you
And I do cherish you

Cherish is the word

Since Doggie started this thread I, too would like to dedicate a song to my special friend, a guy that is very dear to me, though far away.

Love you honey

Someday Soon- Suzy Bogguss

Theres a young man that I know whose age is twenty-one
Comes from down in southern colorado
Just out of the service, hes lookin for his fun
Someday soon, goin with him someday soon

My parents can not stand him cause he rides the rodeo
My father says that he will leave me cryin
I would follow him right down the roughest road I know
Someday soon, goin with him someday soon

But when he comes to call, my pa aint got a good word to say
Guess its cause hes just as wild in his younger days

So blow, you old blue northern, blow my love to me
Hes ridin in tonight from california
He loves his damned old rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon, goin with him someday soon

When he comes to call, my pa aint got a word to say
Guess its cause hes just as wild in his younger days

So blow, you old blue northern, blow my love to me
Hes ridin in tonight from california
He loves his damned old rodeo as much as he loves me
Someday soon, goin with him someday soon
Someday soon, goin with him

ok so my sweetie won't be reading this, because he isnt on the site, but he sang this song to me at kareoke last week and i thought i would share it with all of the love birds on the site

Deeper than the Holler by Randy Travis

Well I've heard those city singers singin 'bout how they can love
Deeper than the oceans higher than the stars above
Well I come from the country and I know I ain't seen it all
But I heard that oceans salty and the stars they sometimes fall
But that would not do justice to the way I feel for you
So I have to sing this song about all the things I knew

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill

From the backroads to the broadway shows with a million miles between
There's a least a million love songs that people love to sing
And everyone is different and everyone's the same
So this is just another way of sayin' the same thing

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill

My love is deeper that the holler, stronger than the rivers
Higher than the pine trees growin' tall upon the hill
My love is purer than the snowflakes that fall in late December
And honest as a robin on a springtime window sill
And longer than the song of the Whippoorwill
