chat help

anyone have any ideas as to why i can not enter chat? i have the newest version of java. i did replace my harddrive last week and all seems to work well except the fact i can not enter chat.
it used to work fine.
suggestions would be great, thanks

Ok. I should tell you that I am the MOST unknowledgeable person as it concerns chat and the like....but...I had to have my IT man, who is rather amused at this BI site as the ONLY place I want to enter into to chat...but....

When he came to my office and uninstalled IE 7, the thing with the tabs....and then downloaded the old version... I was A OK to get into chat.

OH my...does that mean that Belle from Boston is back in rare form???? Gosh who knows?

I am having a similar problem. I have the version of java but it keeps telling me my firewall is blocking port 8080. I went to my security settings and turned off the firewall but it still gives me the same message. Is there a way I can open up this specific port?

don't turn off your firewall... turn it back on please. I've sent you a private message with some fixes that might work for you.

Hey Chu

Try allowing popups - it's under the security settings and can be turned off, if that doesn't work try adding this site as a trusted site.

I use IE 7 without any problems at all. Tabs don't seems to affect anything.

Thanks all for your help. I am not sure why IE7 is having issues, I have enabled add-ons and current java, pop up turned off etc.
Easy fix and remember this if you hear anyone else having this problem was to download firefox. it works fine.
