I was going to post this in another thread... couldn't find one exactly... topical.

With our Remembrance Day fast approaching, and as the daughter of a military man...I had to post this article sent to me by an Irish friend.

http://www.canmilair.com/tribute.htm

since the article was written, Canada has lost over 100 souls in Afghanistan to date... nothing to compare with US losses in Iraq, but it's a LOT for a nation of brave and modest souls.

Ok, I'm going to blow my dumb country girl persona here...
Being a former Veterans Representives adie, I applaude and honor Every service man and woman for all that they do for the World, not just our countries. Thank you So much Darlin for posting this for our people of the Military. May God and the Spirits watch over them all.. :}

I remember, as a kid, there was a Canadian radio announcer that did a thing to honor the US. He listed all of the things that we had done for other countries and made particular note that all of our allies did nothing to help when we needed it (while America the Beautiful played in the background).
Of course he had the great humility to fail to mention that, in at least one case, Canada has come to our aid when we needed it.

Canada has been a better friend and ally to us, since the late 19th Century, than any other nation.

If only our neighbor to the south were willing to be at least half the friend that Canada has been, the North American Continent would be much safer and better off.
