I used to correspond with a married lady in Iowa, who was bi. Her husband was bi, to a lesser degree, too. According to her, if you live in a rural, or semi-rural area, it's almost impossible to meet anyone close by, unless you're in one of the larger cities. According to her, Iowa is a very sexually conservative state.
I lived in central Pa for a little over 10 years, and didn't meet one gay, or bisexual person, during that entire time. At either end of the state, I understood that there were large bi and gay communities.
As real estate folks say, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, is the secret to success.
