Hi!!!
I am new here.
I have been bi-curious for as long as I remember. But I haven't really done much to explore my gay side. I have been to gay clubs on three occasions, always with a female friend present so that I felt like I was a straight guy who was only there out of curiosity.
I went to all-male boarding schools and masturbated only about boys, mainly because I didn't really know what naked women looked like apart from in the pages of soft porn magazines.
I have only had relationships with women so far but I have had a feeling of being "different" for almost all of my adult life. Often I have left girlfriends because of the advice of good male friends. I feel more alive in male company than I do with women a lot of the time. Also, I find it really difficult to play the usual male role of being the "hunter" in dating situations. I would much prefer that women could come to me and pick me up. As a result, most of my relationships have been with women who have sought me out.
I notice that there's a thread here about porn. I watch a lot of hardcore straight porn - but I often feel quite guilty about it. I find it hard to be turned on by women-only porn. I also have watched some bukkake which makes me feel bad because I can tell that the women aren't having a good time at all. I wonder whether I like cumshots because I am turned on by the sight of cock?
My name is Rick. I am in my mid-thirties and I live in the South West of England. I am thinking of going along to something called Bi Con 2008 simply because I feel really lonely being the way I am and I find it very difficult to relate to the idea of being only "gay".
I would be interested to know if anybody can relate to my rambling post!

Hi Rick!

Thanks for posting, hmm, bi con yeah i've heard of it but not been to it.

Sadly in England, as far as I can gather theres not really much for a bi curious, or bisexual, person in England. There is a club in london that only runs one tuesday a month.

What is wrong with that? And during the week as well?

Hm.

Well personally I love gay male porn.

Rick its ok to be different welcome aboard. Some ppl here have full profiles, like myself...Others dont. It depends at the end of the day what you are looking for.

Hi Rick and welcome to our community.

What you are feeling is as normal as rain in the summer and any questions that you have can be answered by the vast majority of folks here. So don't be afraid to ask any questions that you have.

Peruse through the forums in case there is a question that may have already been answered.

We have a few members from the UK, so they will, more likely, have a better perspective on Bi and related events and such going on than most of us from across the pond.

Again, welcome to the community, just beware the occasional troll.......we've had a glut of them over the past month or so, so please don't judge the site based on them.

Interesting when you think UK is a more liberal place for gays and lesbians.
In terms of legal rights, bi men and women have got it sorted in the UK.

I know its true- I'm a bit of a contradiction in itself. Sorry.

WE do have more legal rights etc, but not the bars/club/etc/ to meet fellow bisexuals.

Thanks for your replies. I am thinking quite strongly about going to the BiReCon later this month. Contrary to rumours, it isn't one big bi orgy but (according to the organiser) a good way of meeting similar people. It might well do me the world of good. Long way from Somerset to Leicester though..

It is sort of interesting and ironic that in the UK gays/bis have more legal rights but are more constricted in a social sense--while we in the US don't have full rights, but do have things better off socially it seems----perhaps one of these fined days---the situation will work out in both places to where we would like them to be.

Welcome to the site and I hope you find some answers to your questions and also make some friends---

Hi Rick

Welcome aboard. I wish you luck in your quest to come to terms with your sexuality. I can relate to your difficulties as it took me a long time to admit to myself that i'm bisexual. I have recently discovered that straight can mean I want to try gay sex. The guy I chatted with asked me to show him how. Pity he lives in Southern England and i'm in the North.

Feel free to get in touch with me some time.
