And I sat back, for the next oh, 37 years and watched the World, get darker, hotter, more volitile and tired, of human beings.
And for all of you-ALL of you young and old who want to sit on your asses and debate and argue and deny yourself the responsibility of admitting that it is exatcly what it is and has been exponetially for a long time-
I say fuck that, and fuck you[Whoever in the World you are], and fuck your collations and conjectures, and intellectualizations and all the other bullshit that you allow to get in the way of realizing and resolving with yourself this truth. It isn't supposed to happen cause the Bible says so; it isn't cow-shit or bugs; it isn't the Devil and it isn't God (and if your read the first chapter of that book you will see it for what it is-if you believe anything other than your dumbfounded, contrived, habitual, fanatical, lazy-ass, "I can do what the fuck I wanna do as long as" attitude
BELIEFS).
IT IS US!
I don't KNOW it because the Media said so and I believe what the media says. I KNOW it because I have had thirty good years to compare the difference, and you may have too.And if you tell me it isn't happening you are lying to yourself and the World is suffering because of it.
I don't have any children. Maybe you do. Maybe you have grandchildren. And if you don't know any better by now you better figure this shit out and pass this on because WE DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF TIME LEFT. HOW MUCH EVIDENCE DO YOU NEED?
Now let's start talking about what the fuck WE-ALL OF US ARE GOING TO DO. NOW. AND IF YOU CAN'T, SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!

I tend to make mine rather old-school. Tortilla chips, put some freshly shredded cheese on top and nuke for 45 seconds. Use the salsa of your choice. Of course, occasionally *and if time permits* take a can of refried beans and add a packet of taco seasoning and a sprinkle or generous shot of cheyanne pepper *depending on how galvanized your mouth is*...heat then serve with the nachos.

As a Republican, I resent the nativist approach. Think about it. How would Geronimo have done it? I doubt a microwave would have been involved.
Geronimo's nachos probably would have involved deer or buffalo meat. Assuming PETA nativist or their offspring weren't invading his land! (Damn white man! Let us eat read meat in peace!)

Global warming.
Sure, it can happen, has happened before, and may very well be happening now. It is due to combination of 'greenhouse gasses' and sunspot activity. Assuming warming continues, there'll be a shift where everyone lives, back from present ocean shores, away from new desserts, toward former desserts that will become wetlands...
The next major die off in the human race will be mostly due to continued population increase that can no longer be supported by cheap oil. Cheap oil fuels the farm machinery, then the entire distribution network. Expensive fuel makes it more economically practical for farmers to farm fuel, not food; until food and fuel reach an equilibrium. This also means that the combined cost of food and cost of distribution will give little/no reason to bring food (from the dwindling supply) to the poor (the vast majority of people on the planet). Renewable energy source is inevitable. True we can and will harness hydro, tidal, solar, wind, and geothermal sources. But oil products will diminish to the point of impractability (this also means the near-disappearance of plastics). We may transfer some sources of energy to the above mentioned, but we will always need liquid fuel, something simple. Alcohol is one of the most simple, and it carries more than half the energy of gasoline. It's a matter of inevitibility that large market-driven forces cause the use of a large fraction of former 'eating' crops into fuel crops.
Thus, we have expanding population, combined with diminishing food supplies, increasing food prices, and increasing fuel prices (diminished distribution). I think THIS is our most guaranteed recipe for the next human disaster.
This is assuming, of course, we aren't hit first by a globally devastating disease, war, or sudden natural disaster (or unfortunate combination of above disasters).
Who knows, perhaps 2012 is the 'harvest' date for when human-eating aliens come back to earth to reap their crop (remember the "V" series back in the late 70's early 80's?).
But if I was in Las Vegas, and wagering hard money on the next major die-off; I'd stick with the continuing population increase combined with disappearance of cheap fuel.

The only thing you or I can do is try to plan ahead and survive ourselves. Human nature only slowly changes with education and understanding, and is always only one generation away from relapsing to the default - ignorance. The vast majority of the human race is ignorant and breeding at a very predictable percentage rate.
Don't get me wrong... great things will be done and attempted. But we are at the 1/2 mark on oil, and we WILL burn most of the rest. We will also keep breeding. History and the nature of man guarantees this.

At this point--there is no sense in arguing the cause of climate change---I heard a report earlier today that the US government, in its latest National Intelligence Assessment, has determined the number one future threat to US national security and global stability----GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE!!!
The Pentagon, NSA, CIA and nearly every other alpahbet soup US intell and related agencies had input on this report and they detail the kinds of things human kind can look forward to in coming years--like massive relocations of populations from coastal regions and even entire national populations due to sea level rise in some cases and desertificaton on the other, shortages of both drinking and irrigation water, and even cross border and regional warfare--perhaps even global wars with the fight being over things like water rights and places to grow crops.
So--like it or not---we are going to have deal with the coming situations--everyone on the planet will be affected in some fashion--even if climate change only makes it more or less comfortable where you live---the cost of everything is going to go way up and everyone every where on the planet will have to start accounting for practically every precious drop of fresh, potable water.

Proseros,
Warming is not the only issue being raised by the carbon buildup. The oceans are absorbing the increasing carbon from the atmosphere and becoming more acidic. This is contributing to coral bleaching and major reef die-offs. The bleaching and the increasing acidity are both being recorded worldwide. This isn't a contentious issue. It's a recorded fact. It also fits with basic chemistry calculations. As the acidification continues, it will effect the ability of shellfish to build their shells. The interesting thing here is that there is a lag between the time the atmospheric carbon increases and the time that the acidity of the ocean changes, but we are already starting to see that change.
I wonder how many of these skeptics have children. Why are they so cavalier about the future? Why are they so willing to ignore all evidence and possibly put their children's futures in jeopardy?

All I know is that whatever they called it then, no matter what anyone says it is or is not-it seems to be playing out exactly the way they said it would then.

Okay Bisexualinsocal--at one time in medicine--it was scientifc fact that we would never be able to do things like open heart surgery or replace a heart successfully--and we figured that we could not cure many cancers but today--open heart surgeries and heart transplants are common occurences and many cancers that people were once diagnosed with---you were sent home and told to have a nice death-----now--they are curable.
In the early days of HIV/AIDS--it was an automatic death sentence--and while we can't cure that disease as yet--if you can get the proper meds--it is not a death sentence any longer.
So--at one time the scientists had it wrong about the climate but since that time---they have developed many new understandings of things and improvements in technology like massive super computers doing trillions of calculations per second in which climate is modeled.
Scientific knowledge is never a fixed thing--one person can make a discovery in five minutes from now that can totally transform in no time--an entire field of science from quantam physics from some medical area.
I guess that since science once said that we can't cure many cancers or do a heart transplant--since they were so wrong then--we can't make use of the improvements in technology and knowledge---I guess if you get one of those cancers or need heart surgery you won't be making use of those advancements if your hold hard and fast to your notion that since scientists had it so wrong about those areas of health like they were once wrong on the climate.
Your arguments about this and refusal to accept the reality of things in this regard make no sense----the science has advanced in this area like it did for health care and many other things.
It shows that you are a stubborn sod for sure and that you have a very real ignorance in regards to the ways of science.
Like I had said previously some months ago---whether or not YOU accept that climate change is real or not is totally irrelelvant--even the administration of George W. Bush is now acting on the fact they see that climate change is real----so get over it man---

That's all I need to say about what science "knows".
Interesting artlice about Global Cooling. Did you read it? It seems you didn't so here are a few quotes.
"This hypothesis never had significant scientific support, but gained temporary popular attention due to press reports that did not accurately reflect the scientific understandings of ice age cycles and a slight downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s. Scientific consensus is that the Earth has not durably cooled, but undergone a period of global warming in the 20th century.
In the 1970s, there was increasing awareness that estimates of global temperatures showed cooling since 1945. Of those scientific papers considering climate trends over the next century, slightly under 10% inclined towards future cooling, while most papers predicted future warming."
So... what does science "know"? More than the press. And certainly more that those who, when asked "Why?", respond "God works in mysterious ways, my child".

Actually that's wrong. HIV still is a death sentence. There's no cure for it either.
Even though it's not PC to say this and people who are poz get mad if you say this, it's true.
I know people who are dead of AIDS because their meds stopped working, some died from heart attacks or rare diseases caused by a compounded immune system or died because of side effects of their medications, even if your meds do work they have horrible side effects, not all meds work for everyone, and even if you're HIV poz you can still get other strains of HIV get reinfected and die from that.
Also if you pick up other STDs or get a bad cold/flu while being HIV+ that is not a good thing either for the immune system.
If someone uses/abuses drugs like cocaine and crystal meth this too can cause the rapid onset of AIDS from HIV. There is also a proven link between crystal meth and becoming HIV+ and I'm not talking about IV drug users sharing needles either.
If you have a death wish and want to live in denial go right ahead but you're wrong about what you posted about HIV.

Well--just about any disease that you can think of is a death sentence---the point of what I was saying about AIDS---if you got it you did die of it for sure--now you have a fighting chance to continue living thanks to the medications that are available, so you can die from something else unrelated to having AIDS.
Now thanks to the meds that are now available--many people are going on to live at least reasonable normal lives for far longer than they could do even as relatively recently as a decade ago.
As far as medical research into AIDS--each and every day medical researchers are learning more and more about the disease and also thanks to studying it---along with cancer and other life threatening diseases---they are learning more about the processes about disease, the workings of the human body and other related areas as well.
Of course AIDS is a death sentence--life itself is a death sentence-like Jim Morrison of the Doors is credited with saying--"No One Gets Out of Here Alive!"
I also was not advocating that there is anything at all good about contracting AIDS--merely that we have had great progress in dealing with this modern scourge in recent years----Subliminal --you did not really read the post that closely to get that point obviously----but you in all of your various guizes--you tend to jump on some point that you read into things and jump all over it----I think that in those knee jerk reactions---you subliminally express some of the reasons you hate us here---you blame us for AIDS, child molestation and other things like that---and show that you likely might be such a victim of some of these things--perhaps you contracted AIDS too and that you certainly have this "bisexual" side of yourself that you hate and are having trouble dealing with---

At least I can say that I know more about safer sex and HIV/AIDS than you do however. I know you're from Ohio, the midwest and all but c'mon! You're really ignorant about this subject.
Umm... I just read the posts this is related to. Voltman's post seems to be a response to a detailed reading of your post, and your post seems to be a response to a skim-through reading of his.
Also he merely asked questions pertaining to your possible non-understanding of the subject, but you say things about him not understanding with no direct proof, yet you say them as though they are facts. It appears that you just like to stir up trouble. Were you a troll in a past life?

No I'm not a troll. Actually read what I wrote again.
All I did was clear up the BS that Voltman posted about HIV/AIDS since he thinks that all HIV meds work for everyone and that they don't have major side effects.
I do have proof that he doesn't understand. Read what I posted above and read how he flamed me saying that I'm HIV+ and he came out of nowhere writing about child molestation for some unknown reason.

I've been away and am only now getting a chance to respond to this.
His reference to child molestation is a bit odd, I'd guess that he saw your responses to his as troll-like and so was reaching out to things trolls have said. Not exactly right, but somewhat understandable.
As for him flaming you saying that you are HIV+, that was not actually a direct implication that you have HIV and was far from flaming you.
