I have recently had to make a couple of trips to north central Kansas and I am always looking for pictures to take. These were done with a very portable Olympus F210. Enjoy .....

This place was a home for the widows of the civil war.

Good/great pics.... except for the fuckin' "Dogwood" across each picture!!!!
...not that anything's wrong with 'dogwood'... or you, my friend. (I'd do you in a New York second... if you'd let me). But, LOL the pics were compromised by the copyright watermark.
Especially cool was the (backwards 'N') 1883 NOV marker for "B.M." Lots of mystery, questions, humanity... the essense of a truly great photo, and a fuckin' "Dogwood" brand!
LOL
Please forgive me, my friend. I'm saused and in the mood to tease you! But yes, they are great!

Nice photos Dogwood-glad that someone other than me postecd some photos--

I like to take photos of historic type places myself--

Being the evil, science loving liberal I am---I like that they are putting up those windmill farms--when I took my most recent trip down to Mexico last fall I could see how many windmill farms that have already been constructed--we sure do need more of them----it is a bummer that those complex machines aren't made in America and get imported from other places--we should be making them ourselves.

Nice photos--but I do agree--the watermark needs to be much smaller---very small and discrete off to one corner--not pasted across the face of the photos like a big billboard sign----ya may want to find one from another provider. This is not a criticism---just a simple comment.

Sorry if the watermark upsets anybody, but I have found some other photos I have taken and posted on other sites used by someone else on different sites. I now display all photos taken by me with a watermark to dissuade this type of thing.

On my flight to Wichita, I met a guy who was going to a local boat manufacturer to discuss building the housing hulls (made from fiberglass weighing about 1 ton empty) in Kansas. Just one of the many windmill manufacturers.

I place the watermark over the main view of the picture because pictures can be cropped and resized. I am simply trying to avert the re-use of my photos with out my permission.
No offense taken.

Is that Mother Dickerdyke Home?????
[edit] Ok, I clicked on the link, and it's Bickerdyke. (almost as bad)

What are those things on the lowboys? They look like giant old Frigidaire refrigerators laying on their backs.
[edit] Found that label too. Windmill housings. Wow, they are big. It would be interesting to see how they get them up on top of the pole.

A few years ago I was driving down the Columbia River Gorge and I ran into a convoy of trucks hauling the blades, one blade per truck, so I knew the blades were big. I never really thought much about the generators.

Nice pics. I like 'em.

:doggie:This begs the question, how do you watermark your photos? I want to start selling some of mine off a website.

More Great Pics Dog!!!!
I will have some in a few weeks--heading on the road myself in a few days and I am going to spend at least one day taking photos of places and such in one of the most gorgeous cities in the country---Savannah, Georgia. I have been waiting to do that since I got this new camera last year.
