This man was one of the best chefs ever. Stories like this illustrate the problem with our society of instant gratification and 'me first' bullshit.
I take great pride in being a cook. But I know it'll never be enough for the people who sign my paycheck. Few people appreciate what people in commercial kitchens go through. Maybe this will make them reconsider.

Maybe Im reading too much into the articles, but they paint the picture of a person whose work became their identity and when their work was criticized he took it as a personal attack when it wasnt (or was it). Either way I think there can be a valued message in all of this.

As for commercial chefs, I'm not one, but I can appreciate the absolute hell they go through.
