I am not sure if you can do what you are asking, but maybe this will help you. I know this is not exactly what you want, but Firefox has different add-ons to help you organize your bookmarks. Since the bookmarks are stored online, you never lose them, and you can access them from any computer with that add-on. Google "Firefox add-ons" and you'll find some of these programs. Apparently the most efficient is https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3615, but I personally found it way too complicated. There might be simpler ones.
Good luck,

If you keep a back up of your Windows system ( I hope you do) its there.
I update my "E" drive which is my backup, physically a different drive, monthly.

I use this (starting on the main Toolbar):
Bookmarks -> Organize Bookmarks -> File -> Export
I have also used the Google Browser Sync tool, but that does copy everything to a 3rd party, maybe not what want. For that reason I've only used it with "work" accounts, where my browsing history isn't as well, um, personal.

We use the above methods but also send our bookmarks to ourselves in an email. Both Yahoo and AOL email we can store the message on their server so no matter where we are or what computer we may be on we can access our bookmarks. Just remember to email the bookmarks as an html so you can click the links in your email. Otherwise you have to copy and paste.

My advice would actually be to dump firefox entirely & get flock. It's another mozilla with much better add-ons. It's great for multimedia stuff & any kind of networking sites. You can integrate photobucket accounts into it so that you can just drag and drop your pics, it can sync with myspace, facebook, podcasts, rss feeds and probably a bunch of other shit I haven't figured out yet. As for storing bookmarks, what I would do, regardless of which browser you use, would be to copy/paste the urls into a word or wordpad document, then simply save the document to disk. Almost forgot to mention, flock also gives you a personalized site called myworld that stores all of your bookmarks and keeps a history of most visited sites.

copy and paste all of the website's to note pad and then you can send it as a file to a floppy disk.

There are extensions for Firefox that will automatically back up your bookmarks everytime you use the program and exit.
Also look for the Bookmarks file itself and save that to CD, another HD or whatever.

It's easy. The bookmarks are stored in an html file located at
C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<some profile name>\bookmarks.html
Copy that file to somewhere else and if/when you have to reinstall, put it back with firefox not running. Done.
