I've given one blowjob in my life and I loved it. I fantasize about it all the time. The thought of someone cumming down my throat thrills me. I would like to try it again but I'm afraid with all the diseases going around. The last time I did it was with a friend. I did some research and found that is alot less likely that you'll get and std from oral sex but it is stilll very possible. Does anyone have any advice for me. Thanx.

I feel the same about giving blow jobs! :flag4:

For saftey ...

<1> make sure his penis is clean
<2> has no small cuts or scratches that you can absorb blood from
<3> make sure also that you have no cuts in your mouth or on your lips
Swallowing pre-cum or cum in itself carries almost no risk of STD's or HIV/AIDS as far as I know.

Of course make 100% sure he has been tested for STD's.

Know who you're fooling around with. Sometimes even people you know and think are safe could be carriers so you're never 100% certain but at least be cautious. There are several threads posted on safe sex and diesease prevention. You might want to read through those as well. They would be very enlightening.

WOAH!
Pre-cum carries the same risk as CUM for STD's!!
HIV/AIDS, The Clap, Thrush, Syphillus, all of these can come from giving a blow job unprotected. Period.

If you are going to bare back it, make sure it's with someone who is tested under a general STD profile, and isn't having bare back sex with anyone else.

Sorry, I just couldn't let that go.

Good advice from all. I am with the same partner, who I have had for several years. We are both clean, and safe, but you should definately be careful. :2cents: :bipride:

BRAVO! To everyone who insists on caution. You are playing with fire if you bareback.

At the risk of sounding preachy, If you have a friend who tells you he/she is safe, disease free, and can prove it, you need to be sure that you know him/her well enough to be sure that he/she is not active with others while he/she is active with you.

Sometimes friends will say, "Oh yes, I am safe". They are active with someone else, and that other person has assurred them that they are safe. We are all too willing to take someone's word for it. But who can really tell???

It's like betting on the lottery. When you bet on the lottery, you bet $1.00 at a time on the off-chance the payoff will be a million dollars or more. In this case, you maybe betting yur health or maybe even the rest of your life against an hour's worth of sex. It's like you are betting a million dollars with the payoff being very small. The risks are great and the payoff is small in comparison. So is it really worth it to make that kind of a bet?

I also think that when it comes to sex, we want to trust our partner, or else why would we have sex with them? If we have to ask for concrete assurances from a person we are trusting enough to have sex with, then that may be insulting to them, or it may sabatoge the sex, etc. BUt it is your health and your life that is at stake.

BE CAREFUL!! BE SAFE!! BE SMART!!

Flavored condoms will decrease the risk.

New research shows that there is the possibility for transmission of HIV through the mucus membranes of the throat, the risk though is less than anal sex, both giving and recieving.
Others STIs can appear in throat and mouth area as well, herpes, gonnorea etc. So care must be taking to know the person and know whether they are clean if you are concerned with contracting an STI, even with only oral-genital contact.
Ultimately though it is your decision what level of risk you are willing to take.

I had to add about brushing your teeth...this is about the only time I can recommend not brushing your teeth! If you are having unprotected oral sex, don't brush your teeth for several hours before or after...you can open up small cuts, abrasions, etc. or push any potential infectious agents up into the gumline. Rinse vigorously with an antiseptic agent like Listerine instead (before and after...you are protecting the person you are being oral with from any potential bugs you might be carrying, too). :)

It's nice how many responders urge caution. Thank you. The only unprotected safe sex is: mutual masturbation or masturbating in company of another. Unless one is absolutely certain, any other unprotected sex is Russian Roulette.
