1) I've found that hair conditioner makes a great shaving gel.
2) Sharp blade, every time.
3) If it's your first time, don't expect to get all the hair. It may take a few times to remove it all
4) For the penis shaft and scrotum, work with the skin... it stretches, which I have found helps.
5) Take your time.

Also, when I'm doing it, I shave in the shower.
Also, except for tip 4, these can all be used by females. Granted, shaving works better with the labia taut, but it is a personal choice.

obviously it works for you but...couldn't that lead to some painful razor burn?

I quit using a razor and shaving cream a long time ago because of the razor burn it left behind. I use a straight style electric shaver now (like a remington or braun) and go gently over the skin with it closer and closer until I get the desired result. It works much better than a straight edge with no razor burn and less likely to cut myself. Just my opinion!

Right here (http://www.beavershaver.com/) is probably the best advice -- and equipment -- you'll ever find for PUBIC shaving.

We usually both shave prior to playing with other people. The best method is to have your partner do it. They can see much better, (hopefully they have steady hands...ouch!). If you do get razor burn or the "bumps". put some Polysporin on the area for about 30 minutes this usually helps quite a bit. Just a little tip we learned along the way

I've always used a safety razor and shaving cream for sensitive skin.

Does anyone know if you can get that laser permanent hair removal done down there???? smooth all the time then........

Shave daily is the biggest thing if you really want smooth.
In the shower after you've been in a while and washed, so the hair is softened and skin opened up, that is the best way to a good shave despite all the advertising crap..
Makes your blade last longer too.

I shave every other day. When I tried doing it every day, I found I ended up with rash and nicks too often. Every other day lets the hair grow just enough to give a good clean shave without problems. I use a disposable double-blade razor. A few minutes before going into the shower, I rub a water soluble lube all over my pube area, cock and balls and let it soak in for a few minutes. Once in the shower, I add a shaving gel to the area for shaving. Go slow, take your time and enjoy the experience.

No... but you can get electrolysis

the thought of electrolysis has always intrigued me...don't know anyone who has done that--or if they'll admit to it if they have.

What I do for shaving down there?

Since I prefer guys who are naturally hairy, and I prefer that for myself too. I might not be the best to offer.

But when I do shave...
I use clippers; a small device called "microtouch"; and my most recent purchase of Norelco's Bodygroom.

If I haven't done it an a while...I use the clippers primarily for that.
If I'm looking for "lining" my pubic hairs...then I use the microtouch--as it's very small, but effective for that type of shaving.
If I'm shaving consistently (every 2 days) then I use the bodygroom.

It's been pretty good. It's not as close as the "microtouch"; but I've gotten only one cut since using it in the last 6 months. A refreshing change! ;)

anyways...here's a link to their site.

If nothing else, the website will definitely make you laugh with their presentation.

but outside of electrolysis, I imagine hair growing back within a day or two is just the way things are.

I'd definitely be interested in hearing testomonials from those who have done electrolysis--along with visuals, if possible (before/after). It's something that doesn't get a lot of discussion when I think of it.

Actually, Yes you can! I went in for a consult and everything. They'll explain how it works. Basically it like getting laser on any other part of you body. It all depends on the thickness and color of you hair.

Back to the question. Make sure you use a fresh razor. The sharper the better. And cold water to get a really close shave. And take your time. The hubby here will on occasion just do it dry, but then again, it his balls. I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you want to show up to your next partner with an itchy sack and suspicious looking red bumps...

Yes, you can get the laser hair removal on any part of your body from your face to your private area. When I went in for a consultation, the lady didn't even blink when I told her I wanted everything taken off. She even told me about her getting laser done on her private area.
As for shaving I'm usually in the shower, and use soap. If you do a little bit each day in a few days you will be nice and smooth.
That's just my :2cents:

Actually, all you have to do is go to your local Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Walgreens, etc., and you can buy the same type of electric trimmer like they use in the salons and barber shops. The one that most of them use is made by Wahl. They retail for under $20-and you can use that to trim the hair down to nothing-just don't use any of the attachments. You will be surprised at how clean it is-and you won't have to worry about nicking yourself using a regular razor.

I've found some very good commercial shaving products that work really well. There's a brand of shave cream called Coochie that lubricates well, and helps to prevent shaving rash. (Found in finer toy stores) Just to be doubly sure, I follow up with an astringent called Witch Hazel. It keeps follicles from becoming infected which is why you get a rash. It's sold where you buy rubbing alcohol. (No, Witch Hazel does not burn or sting.)

For the cock and balls...I use tweezers and pluck out the hairs. YES...I know what you are thinking..."OUCH"... ..but really its not that bad. It lasts much longer, and you don't have the stubble coming back the next day. Also works on the ass crack....lay on you back, with your legs back, and use a mirror.

As for shaving with a blade...I had a male nurse shave me, when I was going in to have my appendix out. His method was sprinkling the area with baby powder, and then shaving it with a blade.

My biggest issue would be the continuous struggle to keep the hair away. Has any one tried any of the waxing products avalible at a drug store? or what about that Nair cream that is supposed to remove hair?

Just shaved my pubic area and anus for the first time so I figure I would share my experiences with anyone else thinking of doing it for the first time in hopes they have more succsess then me.

First off, I am a hairy guy. There was quite alot of hair down there before I began. The total process took me about 3 hour :P

I began by trimming the hair above my penis, between my legs, on my balls, and on my ass with a pair of scissors. I tried to get it as short as possible. it was a little tricky to get the back hairs as all I had was a hand held mirror.

Once I was all trimmed up, the fun of shaving began. I used a triple bladed Gillette Mach 3 razor and went through 3 heads in the initial shave. I started with regular foaming shaving cream, but that got a little hard to see, so I soon switched to a moisturiser cream. It allowed for better visibility, but in the end probably wasnt the best idea. I think my biggest problem was I was very intent on getting a 100% smooth shave as close as possible to the skin. I realised I had become a little over zealous when tiny little spots of blood started to show up all over my pubic area. I had shaved in every direction and put quite alot of force on the razor in an attempt to cut every little hair down to size.

So now my pubic area is bleeding and burnt, so i can move on to my bals and between my legs. The balls where tricky as I really had to stretch the skin to be able to get a clean stroke. In the end I didnt get all the hairs, but I got as many as I could before getting overly frustrated and moving on. It was very hard to see between the legs, and eventually gave up on the useless mirror and went by feel, again not a good idea. I ended up almost as burnt as my front, but at least no blood (at this point I was sticking to one direction with the razor).

Finally I get to my bumbum. Getting the inside of the anus was a matter of feeling again, as the there was no way I could hod that mirror in place and shave at the same time. It didnt seem too bad at the time. Finally, I made my biggest mistake yet and decided to shave my cheeks. Now they arent very hairy (just short thin hairs), but I wanted the baby smooth feel (it wasnt worth it). I shaved them with the same cream and razor I had with everything else and at the time I was doing it I didnt see any problems. It wasnt untill the next day that I realised the damage I had done.

Within a few hours the numbness had worn off and the razor burn was full in effect. Everything from the top of my pubic area, around my bottom, and up my butt was on fire. This still wasnt the worst however.

The next day i wake up to unbelievable itching! My whole nether region is covered in big red bumps and welts, the ones on my cheeks are reaching the size of quarters. They all itched like no other for 3 days. I tried putting every cream and powder conceivable on them to stop the itching, but nothing helped. Not only as the itching bad, but having to spend three days in public trying with all my will not to scratch my genitals was torture.

After the 3 days, the bumps started to disappear and the hair was growing back. I took a leap pf faith and shaved again with a razor. This time lighter and only in one direction. To my delight it turned out alright. I didnt get much razor burn and no new bumps. Its been a week since my first shave and the bumps are nearly all gone (except a few on my butt). Iv shaved a 2 more times and no real problems. I think I will go buy an electric razor though so I dont have to worry about going through so many heads and can kiss cuts and burn goodbye. Iv given up on shaving my cheeks, I can live with that hair.

So basically, if you are thinking of shaving for the first time, try to avoid some of my mistakes. Be gentle on your genial, dont just use any old cream, maybe try an electric razor, nd be prepared for some discomfort at the beginning

I watched a porn documentary (weird, i know) and one of the porn star females said she uses baby oil and just a regular razor.

I shave with just water, using soap or shaving cream causes more razor burn than water alone for me.

I just soap up and shave my cock and balls in the shower, use a good safety razor or a disposable one. Keep the skin tight and shave against the grain for a close shave. I sometimes dry shave. I find its no big deal to shave you genitals.

I think that everyone shaves a little bit differently based on hair type. Judging by your cock pic (nice one by the way----but if you did a little "manscaping" down there it would look even better) your hair type appears to be the same as mine, i.e., Northern European Caucasian. So my technique might also work for you. I've been shaving down there for a very long time. Shaving down there was considered a fetish when I started; I'd say it's now a fetish not to shave or at least trim---LOL.

First you need to trim everything down to a quarter inch or less using scissors or clippers. Diamond Dog is right, use a dry triple blade razor on your scrotum. You'll have to tap it after every couple of strokes to keep it from getting clogged with hair. Don't over (excessively) shave or get too aggressive. If you haven't shaved the boys before you need to remember that they had hair since you were 12 and a half, so you are going to need to moisturize afterwards. Use Nivea after shave balm for sensitive skin---don't use anything with alcohol in it----you'll be calling the Dermatologist for an emergency appointment if you do.

Alway use a fresh (new) blade when you blade shave. Reason: it won't have any bacteria on it that could infect you or cause bumps.

I only blade shave once a week to give my skin some time to rest. In between blade shaves I use a Seiko Cleancut to keep it smooth.

Your skin will need some time to adjust to shaving, so go easy.

Good supplies and shaving stuff is available here:http://www.shavesthere.com/

Using this technique I haven't had a bump or shaving rash in years.

Have fun. Look forward to see a new pic of your smoothie.

trimming it short FIRST then shaving the rest in the shower, after the hair is washed and softened by hot water is the way to go. i won't repeat what works, there is already a lot of feedback on this thread, most of it good (do not shave dry!).
