Im a girl.... and so far it seems Im the ONLY girl that doesn't shave.
I hate shaving:
- Hair is so blond its not always easy to shave it all.
- Razors are always cutting me no matter how careful I am and how I do it.
I shave my armpits of course and I trim my private hair as close as Im comfortable with.
I leave hair on my arms and the bit on my chest alone lol
(by chest I mean hair around my boobies, not much, just a little)
When it comes to legs, its always a battle to shave or not..... usually I just leave it alone, why shave? I always wear jeans or long skirts so no ones gonna see them anyway lol
But Would people want to date a girl who doesn;t shave her legs? lol
Am I weird??
Course if I have a gf who loves me but doesn't like my legs, I would start shaving for her but since I don't have a gf, I don't see the point.
Tasha
PS Ya, Im sitting here in just my underwear and socks and examing my body hair lol

Nair, my dear. It's my best friend because I, like you, hate shaving. It doesn't last, and if the razor isn't fresh I cut the crap outta myself.
Yeah, I know it smells, but it's SO much better than those little bits of tissue everywhere.

I have an electronic "trimmer" which is really intended for beards and stubble, but I use it for pretty much everything. Take the tip off and you get a very close cut, or put it on and you can swivel between short stubble and longer hair. Quite useful really...

I hope I'm not hijacking your thread but I thought I'd post up a comparison. I'm a guy who I guess has...a more conscious approach to shaving heh:
I leave a patch on the center of my chest - anything else on main frontal body area is shaved in the shower every 3-4 days or so. Pubic hair I have learnt my lesson with...I only trim it now as I found after shaving caused pretty back acne problems. Oh boy does it hurt when you tighten your belt.
Arm pits I shave once in a while as well. I find its so much better with no hair - doesnt get half as sweaty or hot.
A patch? Is it like a little square or strip down your chest or what? This makes me curious..... YES Tasha I'm curious about many things. Why do you think I came to the site in the first place? lol :tong:

I was going to suggest using an electric shaver/razor or Nair, but it seems people beat me to it. I use the Gillette Venus with wonderful success (the old, aqua-colored one). Using a good bath gel or shaving cream (even the stuff intended for guys) makes it a lot easier. Don't use regular soap, whatever you do -- it's like purposely adding stuff to your legs to make a razor stick & skip on your skin. I can't use disposables... they cut me to ribbons.

If I let my hair grow on my legs for too long then shaving becomes horrible, itchy and I have bumps like you would not believe. However, a co-worker of mine told me that shick has a new razor out that comes with the soap/lotion built in around the razor to prevent the itchy, horrible bumps and ingrown hair. I thought...whatever, but then decided to try it when I noticed it for $3.00 at the store. It's called "intuition". And you know what.......it is nice and I have no cuts, not bumps and my legs are so soft. No more using just razors and shaving cream/soap. I absolutely love it!

Nobody says you have to shave Tasha.
I had a TA in college who did not shave her legs and let's just say it was surprising one day when she wore a dress that showed her legs!

I refuse to shave, I usually begin itching very bad even when I cut it close. I trim the side of my face, and around my sack. I prefer people ( ) who do not shave, the sensation I get when hair meets hair is oh so wonderful.

Gosh Tasha...
If you sit there long enough and look at your body hair... you could end up looking like Sasquatch. But Sasquatch is dark brown... okay.... how about the Abominable Snowman? Either of those peeps never shave either.
Besides, you would look funny with a handlebar moustache and a Van Dyke to boot.

You have to be comfortable with yourself first. If you are then who cares what anyone else thinks.
I personally shave my pits and legs at least twice a week. I get my pubs waxed. Yes, it's painful, but it's not a long lasting pain. Goes away rather quickly. Because of getting waxed I was introduced to a product called Tend Skin. It's excellent! No more ingrowns or bumps. Search the net, I'm sure you'll find it. You can also get your legs and pits waxed. The only downside is that you have to let it grow so long before you can get it waxed off again. Not to mention the money.
If I could afford it, I'd have the laser treatments done and be rid of all my unwanted hair for good. That would be nice and such a time saver too.

Same here!!! That would be cool. Although, you've gotta think carefully first (especially if you're a guy) because once you destroy the hair follicle the hair will NEVER grow again, even if you want it to.

It's your hair, wear it the way you like it! If you start dating someone who'd really love you to shave or trim, you can think about it then. Seems like a whole lot of people shave just because they're insecure about not looking like porn stars, but that reason isn't good enough at all. I like a nice short trim the best myself-- no stubble or razor bumps, less itching than shaving although still some, and not as much hassle with oral sex as bushy hair is. [shrug] And for hair away from your pubes, even armpit and leg hair, I'd say it's best left alone, but then, I have enough experience dating hairy guys not to be terrified of dating a woman with a little fuzz.
If you do decide you want to remove the hair entirely, and skip the stubble and razor bumps, I'd recommend waxing, plucking, or an epilator, which is sort of a little electric plucking machine. Pulling out hair is very painful the first couple of times, but they grow back weaker, and so it gets much easier after that. Take some aspirin before, wear loose clothes after, and don't hesitate to go to a pro waxer the first two or three times if you can afford it instead of doing it yourself. :)

I hate shaving, but I do it anyway, because I don't like how it looks when I don't shave, but I admit, it really sucks. It's one of the reasons I wish I was a dude sometimes (along with getting to use Axe). Haha. Maybe I'll save up and get some of it lazered.
Even if I was a guy, I'd probably shave my pits no matter how unmanly it was, because it just makes things a lot less smelly.
But, I've never cared if anyone shaved or not. I'm not really sure I even have a preference. And since I'm a girl, I fully understand that it's no fun at all to shave all the time, so I sympathize. Do whatever you want, Tasha, if it makes you happy.

Hey, Tash.
I'm with you. I hate shaving - I loathe it.
I do the pits and the calves when necessary, but the rest - i like me the way I am - and I'll admit I'm world's best practice hairy.
But
If someone doesn't like me the way I am - that's their bad luck!

...
One of the first ladies i ever "fooled around with" had some hair around her nipples. To this day I I often think of her when masturbating, and fondly remember how sexy she was.
And although I haven't had a chance to experience it, I think I would love a woman with unshaven legs. I remember seeing such a lady once in shorts, and thinking about how lovely it would be to caress her legs, and then later feel them wrapped around me.
So if you're weird, you have company!

I love the way the way a "natural" pubis looks, but I'm not fond of the fighting with the hair when going down on a woman. I find myself more bothered by the feeling of hair in my mouth than making her feel good.
Just remember, to each, her own. And maybe her partner's, too.

I'm exactly the opposite - for me, that is an intensely erotic experience. But as you said, vive la difference. :)

I don't shave my legs either. Athough i'm very much a tomboy. I wear boys shorts. And when i go swimming i wear trunks.
Sometimes i shave i armpits when i'm going to dress up like a lady. But even then i don't shave my legs: i bought crossdresser stockings!
Now around the vagina it just gets in the way of sex, and my hubby likes it shaved down there, so i do.
Now in europe they're not so much for shaving. And i read that in 1945 the Gillette company started a campaign to convice all american woman the should shave. looks like it worked.

From a guys point of view.
I have never been with a man at this point, BUT my wife of twenty + years shaves her arm pits and legs about twice a month. She doesn't shave her vagina areas. She is British and we were stationed in Germany and saw the women at pools that never shaved, so I've been around a bit of everything. I prefer the little blondish hairs, especially on a stomach or legs. When they glisten it just does something to my lower regions...this includes pictures I've seen of men. I prefer a strip of hair instead of the full bush. As mentioned previously, it becomes a pain when you go down on someone and start gagging from a hair stuck in your throat. :( For men the shots of bare skin or closely cropped are my favorites.
As for me I shave my face every second day. I have recently started shaving my bush area and my wife hasn't said she likes it or not. I am getting a bit tired of going through so many razors though and actually thought about looking for a Nair type product for that area. We both use a product my daughter sells through Athena's, called Coochie cream. It works well and has a lotion in to reduce razor burn.

I don't either -- I just like the results.
I hope THIS (http://www.beavershaver.com/) helps you, Tasha.
Cheers!

ya. I think as long as your clean and healthy then looks shouldn't matter. That includes hair. Its all about the personality of the person.

LOL, You have to hand it to Shane... he is a character! Y'know, I'm told that in France its common for women to let their armpit hair grow. Its probably not true for ALL French women obviously. But its personal taste. Some women are naturally hairier than others. Its nothing to be ashamed of, unless you've got like, a beard or something. In which case it might be worth shaving it... or at least trimming it into a nice "goatee" or something, lol. I think women look better without hair in some places... more feminine, I spose. But I guess you're right that its whats on the INSIDE that counts ;)
