if those guys really have had 1,000 partners (and weren't lying or exagerrating) at this young of an age they probably are Poz already, and probably have had common STDs like herpes/genital warts, or syphilis that can be easily transmitted via oral sex or skin/skin contact (syphillis can't be transmitted via skin/skin contact but it's very easily caught by oral sex).

Also having those STDs does increase your risk for getting infected with HIV.

Lots of younger queer men seem have a death wish, are into barebacking (unprotected anal sex), and many think that if you become HIV+ that you can just take pills and you'll be fine.

Some younger queer men are badly depressed and think, "well it seems inevitable that I'll become Poz eventually so I might as well get it".

Also, if the people are having sex and they're not sober and if they're drunk or on other drugs (especially cocaine and meth) they might not take safer sex precautions and condoms don't always work and can break during anal intercourse.

Oral sex isn't 100% safe for HIV transmission either. You can still get it that way too. Especially if you swallow or let someone cum in your mouth, have it with random strangers, and have a lot of it with people.

Also bath houses/saunas/steam rooms in sex clubs are notorious for this type of sex and the sick and predatory plaguers that are Poz and know that they are but knowingly infect others.

It's like that in the US and I'm sure it's a lot worse in Europe.

Also there are sex parties/orgies like SkaterBoy wrote about where it's bareback ONLY and you're not allowed to use condoms at all.
