June 9th is our townhouse area garage sale... I have some things to sell but HOW do you know how to price things? lol
When my ex was here he would laugh at my prices saying it was to high and no one would buy it (yet I didn't think it was that high and I was open to reduce the cost if someone said "Ill give you (price) instead")..... yet at the same time I thought his pricing was way to low that we hardly made any $$$$.
Im planning to sell some nice collectiables (in great condition), maybe some dvds that I don't want anymore and a few books. (all in good cond.)
Any ideas?
Thanks

Generally garage and/or yard sales are cheap cheap cheap! If you have some nicer figurines, books, jewelry, etc or collections or collectibles that are valuable, put a price that you are willing to separate with them on with a tag that says "Price negotiable". If you don't want do write that, and if it doesn't sell, put it in the paper or sell it on ebay. You will not get that good of prices out of things at a garage sale, which is why it is sold in bulk to catch the eye of people looking for a bargain. If you have alot of books, for example, put a 5 for $x on it or for clothes, $x per bag. Make sure you have change (paper and coin) and make sure you have bags both to bag the things that people purchase as well as if you do the '$x per bag' option then you can control how much the people are stuffing into it. Same thing goes for kids toys, have boxes available that people can put smaller items in for one price. Larger things are always priced separately. I always think it's a good idea to have some music playing and maybe popcorn or drinks available. I always think it encourages people to stay longer and be a little more thorough.
Some but not all people will approach you about negotiating on prices (even if a sign is posted), so remember if you want it to sell, you have to price low.
Good luck!

Mostly you have to sell them cheap, I would look on ebay for prices of items and then drop the price a little from there. The price should be less than what you purchased it. Plus subtract the time you have had the item and the cost it would have gone down for the item to reach the cost that you should sell it now. Most of the time the net is a loss but you are selling items that you no longer want just to make some money back on what you purchased for the item.
Hope that helps.

Ya, no figurines in garage sale lol they are worth like 40.00+ at least. (I paid 40.00 up to 100.00 for the pieces) Not willing to part with them anything lower than 40.00 since the condition is like new.
Maybe I won't bother.... work tonight is gonna end LATE... then I have a chat date with a hottie lol
Ahhhhhhh then I'll just want to sleep in, in the AM.
Im gonna list the costy stuff on ebay :) maybe get my butt to the neighbours tomorrow morning and let him sell the lesser stuff for me :) (he and his wife are a nice couple.)
Thanks for the suggestions MC :)

Dont price them, just let them make an offer, if the offer is good then its theirs, if you dont like the offer then tell them, Ill give it to you for this price instead, just be reasonable, and if you just cant live without it put it back in the house lol and stay away from the other garage sales too or youll only have more to sell at the next one :)
