I heard this the other morning on my way home from work . Paris was quoted saying " Im going to take more of an active role in making decisions for myself." Either she is really really dense, or someone else literally makes her decisions for her , like perhaps her mother. She 26 years old, born into a multi billion dollar family, born to believe she is a star and untouchable. Im not surprised by any of this, its just sad she had to learn the hard way.

She's making waves and getting laughs because of the things that have made her famous. Her sister got married in Vegas and divorced like a few months later and nobody cares. What does that show? And what is with this lame-ass story she has that supposedly her publicist told her that even after she signed a note saying she wouldn't drive anymore that she was allowed to drive to work? Yeah on what planet sister?
I only feel sorry for her because you know the ladies in that joint will not be kind to her. I really truly think that she subscribes to the theory that all publicity is good publicity.

Maybe thats why she said she was going to take a more active role in making her own decisions lol And I'm sure like Martha, she'll do her thing , beauty tips, make up , hairstyle. I watch a simple life show where the girls wore police uniforms only they did some cutting to make them look more attractive, wouldnt put it past her to make her jail clothes look a little nicer ;-)

True. She needs to be woken up and bitch smacked by reality, but giving her the Sarah Silverman treatment was going a little bit too far. I admit I found Silverman's "jail bar" bit damn funny, but then I realized it's not much different from being taunted in the cafeteria by the Queen Bitch. I didn't like it then when it was done to me. . .why should I laugh now?

Just a couple of weeks ago I read a newspaper article about Paris, who is reported to have said "we're like a couple of n*ggers" whilst her and her friend were dancing to a well-known rap song. She later went on to dance with an un-named man, and then said "Its ok, he's a fag!".
Don't get me wrong... I come from a middle-ish class background and have been more privileged than many. But sometimes a good bitch-slapping does you a whole lotta good. And by bitch-slapping, I don't necessarily mean literally... but just the fact that she's been locked up for a few weeks will probably teach her a valuable lesson. And its the lessons that we learn the HARD WAY that we remember best! ;)

She's not being put in General pop. Which goes to show that no real lesson will be learned. She tried to sweet talk the Guvenator for a pardon with no dice. The main thing here is to show that the law is the law and should be respected whether your a common person or a celeberity slut.

But thats the unfairness of our world. Paris Hilton is but a little rich fish trying to make her way in the world and making a right pigs ear of it. She may be a rich bitch and I am no lover of any of them, but I can sympathise with anyone who is forcibly removed from their liberty for 23 minutes 23 days or a lifetime. That doesnt mean I necessarily agree or disagree with the punishment. It is just I know exactly how I would feel were it to happen to me, and from that point of view I find it easy to have the compassion Kate is talking about. Even if as has been said she will hardly be in with the rest of the less wealthy and unsavoury classes residing in that nick!

I too, wondered what sort of person would openly profess love for Paris Hilton and admonish us for being unsympathetic to her plight. But, Shane had already deleted his profile because another post had revealed his spastic ramblings. My guess is that he isn't much older than 18 and being from central Wisconsin, well, lets just let that go...
As far as Paris Hilton goes, in spite of all the things she isn't, she IS a media creation that is forced-fed to by us media outlets that have determined that we are all mindless addicts of the National Enquirer. I can't hold any hope that she will learn anything of substance from her incarceration or that she will have a "reality check". She does not come from the real world that most of us live in. She is from a different culture that exists within our broader culture, and the media is the conduit that keeps everything linked. Occassionally, these lofty media creatures stumble and suffer discomfort, which is about the only time I take interest

I guess we do have a different "criminal justice system" depending upon your social standing in our society---I have always known it from working "in the system" for over ten years-----Paris had her sentence reduced from 45 days down to 23--she did three days then she gets sprung based upon a decision by who knows who----pretty good deal---
But--at least she did spend some time in there----I actually hope it might do her some good--maybe offer her a dose of humility for the fact she did spend 72 hours in there----believe me--spending anytime at all in any kind of correctional facility is no fun at all---they are noisy--smelly--chaotic--and that is under the best of conditions----
At least she got a nice dose of it--even though she was seperated from the rest of the jail population----
12voltman59
Jun 7, 2007, 11:23 AM
One more thing on Paris and by extension--other ones like her like Lindsay Lohan, Brittney Spears, etc.
In this time of war--when we have people of the same age as those above who serve in the military, either out of a sense of duty or the fact that for them--spending time in the military seems to be their only way to move up in life--to have these self-absorbed brats who live a lifestyle beyond imaging of most of us mere mortals----they just go on and do what they do as if they have some sort of God given mandate to live their selfish lives---and yet we have these poor kids over in Iraq and Afghanistan who are dying and worse--getting maimed for life---those who don't have much are prepared to lay down their lives so Lindsey, Paris, Nicole, the Bush twins and the rest can go out and party their brains out--
It just doesn't seem right at all----

I may have sympthy with anyone who has been deprived of liberty for however long, whether they did the deed or not. But it is rather pathetic and shows just what the difference is between the haves and heave nots when it comes to being locked up. Sometimes we have to pay the price for our actions and isnt it fun that the luffly Paris paid the price of such a long holiday. Its no wonder I loathe and detest power, wealth and privilege.

Lock her back up, and during the day, make her pick up trash in an oversized orange jumpsuit on the roadside. Isn't it time for society to stop playing fav's to the privileged few, and started treating them like everyone else? Yes she is attractive, but something tells me that when she gets up at... noon? she is just as frumped up as everyone else. As for finding her hot and wanting to lose a nut over her, and then reading the ramblings of Mr Shane I can only say that perhaps he should get a mag and spend some quality time with himself...

For anyone who may be misguided enough to defend her actions, here's the deal;
1. She was driving AT NIGHT WITH HER LIGHTS OFF, thus endangering not only herself, but anyone else who may have been on the road near her at that time.
2. She was driving KNOWING THAT HER LICENSE HAD BEEN SUSPENDED due to a previous violation.
3. She feels that she does not deserve to go to jail for multiple violations of the law.
She has gotten preferential treatment from day one, only because of her celebrity status and her family's money.
If it were anyone of us "little people", they would toss us in and forget about us till our time was served.
Paris Hilton is irresponsible and spoiled. She deserves to go to real jail and do her time just exactly like anyone else would have to in the same circumstances. She is not going to learn her lesson the way things are going now.
So go ahead and coddle her......maybe next time she will kill someone with her car. I guarantee that there will be no sympathy for her then. And she will still try to get out of it and say that some one told her that it was okay and she doesn't deserve what is happening to her, just like she does now.

Sources close to the Hilton family tell ET the medical reason was actually an extreme rash she developed on her body. Other reports are claiming that the socialite almost had a nervous breakdown and that was the reason behind her release.
According to People, Paris was having trouble behind bars. "She cries all day," a source told the magazine. "She looks unwashed, she has no makeup and her hair is tangled. She cried audibly through the first two nights."
Paris' 12-by-8-foot cell was in a "high power" pod, which is reserved for high-profile inmates who need special protection.
If any of us behaved that way we would be laughed at and told to grow up. Pathetic real pathetic.

Its no wonder I loathe and detest power, wealth and privilege.
me thinks thou doth protest too much hehehee!! :tong:

They say she is 5ft 8 and 119lbs... thats anorexic by my book... my late wife was 5ft and 105 and she was small.
she's not handling it well.... 'course it does make sense, the all over body rash could be instigated by the prison clothes and the laundry soap they use, her body physically is probably accustomed to soaps and detergents that don't have filler such as recycled newspaper... like tide does, Flex went into the hospital when giving birth and experienced this all over rash too.... not fun
it also makes sense that because she makes money with product endorsements, and tv that the rash would place her under quite a bit of duress, she could lose contracts, and thereby money.... not to mention the environment she's now surrounded in, high profile protection or not, i can imagine to her it's probably hell in there
and there's also the fact that a rash like that hurts like hell to begin with, and long term could produce scarring
oh, and i'm 5'8".... albeit male and there's physical body differences, but still i'm at 155-160 and feel like a twig....
oh, and one thing that does gain a little respect for her from me is that from what i understand, her family doesn't give her money, she's made her own.....
and for whatever it matters..... she really hasn't done anything that i haven't done in my younger years, i just got lucky enough to not get caught...

She was picked up not once but twice, driving drunk (at least once without her lights on) on a suspended license in violation of her probation. She knew what the consequences would be if she were caught.
I drove for 6 months on a suspended license, not because I had done anything bad, my record is spotless other than that, reason, I was poor and unemployed and my insurance expired and I couldn't afford to get more at the time and couldn't afford to be without a vehicle either. I was extremely cautious because I knew what the consequences would be.
The same laws that would have applied to me (man they socked it to me too dollar wise when I got all that cleared up) had I got caught should apply equally to her, and even more so because of the DUI's and the suspended license and the probation.
The fact that she somehow thinks this is unfair or that she deserves preferential treatment really sticks in my craw.

For anyone who may be misguided enough to defend her actions, here's the deal;
I think that FalconAngel hit it right on the nose.
Paris believes that she is above EVERYTHING.
MOST people would or should be willing to ACCEPT responsibility for whatever actions they CHOSE to do.
I feel that what is mostly wrong in this world today is that people make a CHOICE to do something, whether it is a good choice or a bad choice, they MAKE a choice.
Then when things go wrong or they get CAUGHT....suddenly, its someone elses fault.
JEEEEZE.
Think about what has been said consistently here.
Everyday, an average everyday person makes a choice to do something considered illegal or wrong by standards set forth by society.
When that person gets caught, they are held accountable for their actions by the judicial system.
Can ANYONE show me or tell me where or when Paris has even come close to holding herself accountable for driving while DUI.
Then for driving on a suspended license, not once...but twice!
I just cannot believe the people that are willing to coddle her and say..."oh! Poor Paris!"
The average everyday person would definately have to serve their 45 days, minus 1/3 time for good behavior.
I say, rich or poor.....dont do the crime if YOU CANT DO THE TIME.
I hope that the person responsible for arranging for Paris' "reassignment" to home confinement is ALSO held accountable for making an OBVIOUS decison to provide PREFERENTIAL TREATMENT for a person of handed down wealth and alleged social status.
Wah!...wah!...wah!
Let her serve her time and THEN see if she REALLY learned her lesson.
I say actions! not words should determine if Paris truly learns a lesson.
Just my 2 cents.

She broke the law and now she has to serve her time. I would like to show this troubled young girl that mistakes happen but for her they happen too often and they endanger other people. She needs to learn a tough lesson that her parents and others have not been able to teach her. She is responsible for herself and I hope that this will be the first stepp in the right direction so she can be happy and away from the law. She is a beautiful girl and I would hate for that to go to waste rotting in jail unless she changes her behavior and her lifestyle.

AMEN TO THAT.
As it turns out, the judge had specifically ordered that NO alternative sentencing be done. Someone is going to go to jail for contempt AND probably lose their job for it.
Just having money does not excuse criminal acts. There is no grey area with this case. Paris Hilton has never been a "pillar of the community" so she hasn't exactly built up any good kharma to fall back on.

lol! i do agree.... can't do the time, then don't do the crime
i think that she does require a certain degree of extra protection due to her fame..... but other than that, she does need to have a few lessons in humility

Ok.......... I have never tried to post a link to youtube before, but here is my attempt.
If you HAVE NOT seen the video running around right now about Paris, you really need to see THIS ONE.
I have not seen this one posted on this site and I believe this one is brand new.

One last thing to post and I promise to not say ANYTHING more on this thread.
I found the link to the above video from a web site called:
www.goawayparis.com
It is hilarious and the movement is apparently picking up steam.
YahooNews had photos of the Paris incident and in one of the YahooNews photos, there were two guys holding up "go away Paris" banners. The Yahoo news photo described the two guys as promoting the go away Paris web site.
I think the web site AND the youtube video is very fitting for the current events.

Most of my family is from Cuba...we lost much there, though we were far from rich that is sure. Everyday since they came here I would hear:
"Thank god we're not rich." as they watched some show abotu rich people's problems.
I have seen that their main troubles come from:
1) Parents not loving enough (watch out for this one, money to them has become love)
2) Parents don't give enough (see above and notice the pattern)
3) Don't see a reason to work, they should be paid like they were when they were growing up.
4) Drugs make me feel better because of _________(Fill in blank from above reasons).
5) The whole world Follow/Ignores/Hates/Pressures (choose one) me.
Reminds me of Finian's Rainbow. The song Idle Poor exemplifies it, in fact shows what happens to people's perspectives when you remove money from the situation.
Sharon-
When a rich man doesn't want to work
He's a bon vivant.
Company-
Yes, he's a bom vivant.
Sharon-
But when a poor man doesn't want to work,
He's a laughter, he's a lounger
he's a lazier good for nothing
Company-
He's a jerk!
Sharon-
When a rich man looses on a horse
Oh, isn't it disport!
Company-
Oh, isn't it disport!
Sharon-
When a poor man looses on a horse
He's a gambler, he's a spender
He's a low life, he's a reason for divorce!
When a rich man chases after dames
He's a man about town,
A man about town.
But when a poor man chases after dames
He's a bounder, he's a rounder
He's a rotter, and a lot of dirty names!
Fact is money makes us permissive and altogether too forgiving.
My compassion? She has that, much good it'll do her. But my permission to behave badly she doesn't have, and don't confuse that with compassion and ask it of me..she shan't have it.

That was a nice song~!!! :) While I have never really paid attention to her I do feel that if they do something illegal, whether they have money or not, they should be treated and punished as ANYONE would be. It's really sad that people with that much money don't seem to notice the REAL world and what it's like to not be able to own everything you want. In many ways I feel bad for her..........naaaaaaaa, not I don't. Just let her serve her time and get on with her life and hopefully she's learned something from her actions!!

The reason Paris and others like her act the way they do is because society allows it. I mean sheesh this post is way over board. If we do not give them the time of day she would have gone home and been ok but because she is Paris she thought she would get away with anything because that is what we have allowed her to do.

Shane, I seriously HOPE that one day you get to meet her. since you're SO obsessed with her that you keep resurrecting these PH (Jeez, is THAT what the "PH" in ShanePH stands for?! ) threads. I wonder if the "true Paris" would live up to your expectations.
So, like, ya... I'm not keen on her, but I hope you get further than posting about her on internet forums...
