The Pogues-Dirty old town
I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
I Kissed my girl by the factory wall
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
Clouds are drifting across the moon
Cats are prowling on their feet
Spring's a girl from the streets at night
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
I Heard a siren from the docks
Saw a train set the night on fire
I Smelled the spring on the smoky wind
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
I'm going to make me a big sharp axe
Shining steel tempered in the fire
I'll chop you down like an old dead tree
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
I met my love by the gas works wall
Dreamed a dream by the old canal
Kissed my girl by the factory wall
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
Dirty old town
Dirty old town

And...
Avenged Sevenfold- Seize the day
Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry
These streets we travel on will undergo our same lost past

I found you here, now please just stay for a while
I can move on with you around
I hand you my mortal life, but will it be forever?
I'd do anything for a smile, holding you 'til our time is done
We both know the day will come, but I don't want to leave you

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture)

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

Newborn life replacing all of us, changing this fable we live in
No longer needed here so where do we go?
Will you take a journey tonight, follow me past the walls of death?
But girl, what if there is no eternal life?

I see my vision burn, I feel my memories fade with time
But I'm too young to worry (a melody, a memory, or just one picture)

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

Trials in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you here
Please tell me what we have is real

So, what if I never hold you, yeah, or kiss your lips again?
Woooaaah, so I never want to leave you and the memories of us to see
I beg don't leave me

Seize the day or die regretting the time you lost
It's empty and cold without you here, too many people to ache over

Trials in life, questions of us existing here, don't wanna die alone without you here
Please tell me what we have is real

Silence you lost me, no chance for one more day [x2 then continues in the background]
I stand here alone
Falling away from you, no chance to get back home
I stand here alone
Falling away from you, no chance to get back home

Dirty Old Town was written by an old time folk singer called Ewen MacColl...Kirsty MacColls dad (who herself had a link to the Pogues you may remember with Fairy Tale in New York).. he wrote some of the most triff folk songs eva and was largely responsible for the revival of Scottish folk music in the 1950s as well as the revival of the scene in England around the same time. Born of Scots parents in Salford in what was then Lancashire, his music has played its part in my life both as a singer of folk music myself and as a politicising influence, for he was nothing if not a political animal. Kirsty MacColl and I in fact have something in common in that we both had a parent born in the same Dirty Old Town, Salford, for thats the town of the song, in my case my mum.

OK, so, if you were putting together a CD of Bisexual Pop, what would you include?

I'll suggest "My Boy Lollipop" by Millie Small.

My nomination for the Bisexual Pop CD:

"Can't get enough" by Depeche Mode.

"Do you wanna" by Franz Ferdinand as a distant second.

Thanks for that darkeyes. I'm also a big fan of the Dropkick Murphy's cover of "which side are you on?'.

this one from Nightwish, i sing it every day:

KUOLEMA TEKEE TAITELIJAN

Kerran vain haaveeni nähdä sain
En pienuutta alla tähtien tuntenut
Kerran sain kehtooni kalterit
Vankina sieltä kirjettä kirjoitan

Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee

Sinussa maailman kauneus
Josta kuolema teki minusta taiteilijan

Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee

Oman taivaan tänne loin
Anna minun päästä pois

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

(english translation)

DEATH MAKES ARTISTS

Only once I could see my dream
Didn't feel the smallness under the stars
Once I got bars in my cradle
As a prisoner I write a letter from there

My Lord, to you, let me become what my child thinks I am
In you is the beauty of the world, of which death made me an artist
My Lord, to you, let me become what my child thinks I am

My own heaven I created here
Let me get away
My own heaven I created here
Let me get away

Being due in September, I talk and sing and play music to my baby all the time, for its meant to be good for them. I do think however the poor little mite may be a bit fed up with Lily Allen.

This is kind of different because I mainly do this at work if im getting short tempered with an inmate. I either hum it or I sing it . My partner is well aware of this habit, and usually laughs lol

Im a little tea pot short and stout ,
Here is my handle , here is my spout.
When Im feeling pissy and can strangle you out ( yes I added that line )

Mmm, for me its Pink Floyd... I went through a period of listening to "Dark Side of the Moon" and a few other selected albums... I wouldn't say it was a good time in my life though. These days my tastes are much more diverse. David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" stuff pops into my mind every now again, and so do a few "clever" lyrics by other musicians that remind me of life... If you know what I mean! ;)

Avenged Sevenfold are pretty good, btw... I liked their debut album best... "Chapter 4" was on my iPod playlist for ages. I didn't like "City Of Evil" quite so much at first, but its growing on me now... apparently the lead singer hurt his throat, which is why he doesn't scream as much anymore...

In the spirit of fighting all these trolls

Avenged Sevenfold- Thick and Thin

I don't want to know.
And I don't want to see you in this place.
Your kind is a disgrace as I spit in your face.
And I don't want to hear anymore.
A friend is fucked with while he's having fun on the dance floor.
Get the fuck out of here now.
Come on you kids, stand your ground.
This is your show, it's your family.
All of my friends there for me.
There's four-hundred more of us then them.
So kick them out.
Keep it positive.
Keep it real.
Keep it true.
Together with my friends.
I'll be there for you.
Through the problems thick and thin and problems we'll fight through.
This is to my brothers, I'll be there for you.
Through the problems thick and thin and problems we'll fight through.
This is to my family.
I'll be there for you.

Here's 4 songs from my iPod playlist, all courtesy of a new British band called "Ben's Brother". They're all slightly different, but have some similar themes. Hope y'all enjoy!

well i guess the best people to ask are my neighbours as the tune of the moment gets wacked on the stereo on mega volume...

Todays tune was Dust In The Wind by Nazerath as i heard a bit of it in a film so dug it out and blasted it!

Yesterday it was Lose yourself by Eminem

Tomorrow ... Who knows!! But Marilyn Manson's version of Personal Jesus gets featured a lot generally...

I seem to have the urge to sing this often... sometimes I do, sometimes its in my head going on and on and on lol

----------------------

It's a world of laughter
A world of tears
It's a world of hopes
And a world of fears
There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

There is just one moon
And one golden sun
And a smile means
Friendship to ev'ryone
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small world after all

It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small world after all
It's a small, small world

"I Luv It" by Young Jeezy

Ride till I die, Lord knows i stay high and I love it, and I love it
Let's go!

[Chorus]
We count hundreds on the table, twentys on the floor
Fresh outta work and on the way with some more
And I love it (yeah!), and I love it
I got gangstas in the crowd, bad bitches at my show
Yeah its parked outside, and its sittin on fo's
And I love it (yeah!), and I love it

[Verse 1]
Once again it's on, I'm back in the mu'fuckin booth
These niggas still lying, I'm the mu'fuckin truth (GYEAH!)
I don't believe em, I need to see mu'fuckin proof
I ain't want the four door, I copped the mu'fuckin coupe (HAHA!)
They tryin be me, I'm just tryin be G
And everything comes to da light you'll see
These niggas in the dark baby I just shine (SHINE)
I do it from the heart homie they just rhyme (YEEEEEAHHHH!)
Check your watch, nigga it's my time (HEY!)
Mind made up I was on my grind (THAT'S RIGHT!))
So pay attention yea you on my time
In that case time waits for no man
Do it again I done that before man (GYEAH!)
M.O.E., you ain't part of the program
Or maybe you niggaz ain't listening
Open your eyes I'm a blessing in disguise

[Chorus]

[Verse 2]
Yea I blew up, but they ain't like that
They switched up on me, and I ain't like that
Sold my first brick, yea, I came right back
Fast forward the tape, nigga look at me now
And I never turn back, so motherfuck that
Nike's on the ground got my head to the sky
Smoked all day, Lord knows I stay high
Stay on top, Lord knows I'm gon' try
And live for the moment, Lord knows I'm gon' die
And when I get to hell, Lord knows I'm gon' fry
Woke up this morning so I'm still alive
36 O's I sold them all for five

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
Been around the world, it's the same ol' caine
Been around the world, it's the same ol' thang (Dro)
All the real niggaz either dead or in jail
And if you're looking for me homie, I'm in the A-T-L
You gotta play it how it go, you can't cheat on life (YEAAAAH!)
Ya better drink a Red Bull, you can't sleep on life
I ain't tryna do you, I'm tryin' do me
Last album did two, I'm just tryin' do three
Fresh out the pot yea the work was hard
Ride with the top down so I'm closer to God
My P.O. telling me I need a 9 to 5
But I already got a job, and that's stayin alive

[Chorus]

in fact a who lotta Young Jeezy's stuff get stuck in your head because it has that bouncy pounding 2/4 march rhythm that just pulls you along and keeps you going thru a long work day

Never heard of Young Jeezy, but then I'm not really clued on the rap scene these days. reminds me a bit of 2Pac though. What was he said? Oh yeah:

"All the time I was ballin', never heard my friends callin', couldn't stop myself from fallin'... I'm all in, shit's getting sleazy, believe me... best to take what you need and don't be greedy..."

Just one of his many pearls of "wisdom"... I believe its called "dropping a jewel" or somethin'...

I know it's kinda strange, but sometimes I get the crying game song stuck in my head. The words are just so moving to me.

I know all there is to know about the crying game
I've had my share of the crying game

First there are kisses, then there are sighs
And then before you know where you are
You're saying goodbye

One day soon I'm gonna tell the moon about the crying game
And if he knows maybe he'll explain

Why there are heartaches, why there are tears
And what to do to stop feeling blue
When love disappears

I know all there is to know about the crying game
I've had my share of the crying game

First there are kisses, then there are sighs
And then before you know where you are
You're saying goodbye

Don't want no more of the crying game
Don't want no more of the crying game
Don't want no more of the crying game
Don't want no more of the crying game

lol, ok, after my "Pink Floyd Period" I listened to this one a lot:

http://media.putfile.com/The-Prisoner-31

I liked the lyrics in particular, but the whole song is pretty good:

I'm on the run, I'll kill to eat,
Starving now, feeling dead on my feet.
Going all the way, I'm nature's beast.
Do what I want, I do as I please.

Run, you've gotta fight, to breathe, it's tough.
Now you see me, now you don't.
Break the walls, I'm coming out.

I'm not a prisoner, I'm a free man,
And my blood is my own now.
Don't care where the past was,
I know where I'm going...out.

If you kill me, it's self defence.
If I kill you, then I call it vengeance.
Spit in your eye, I will defy.
You'll be afraid when I call out your name.

Run, you've gotta fight, to breathe, it's tough.
Now you see me, now you don't.
Break the walls, I'm coming out.

I'm not a prisoner, I'm a free man,
And my blood is my own now.
Don't care where the past was,
I know where I'm going.

I'm not a number, I'm a free man,
I'll live my life how I want to.
You'd better scratch me
from your black book,
'Cause I'll run rings around you.

Good ol' Iron Maiden!
Hell yes! \M/

Rime of the Ancient Mariner- From Powerslave

'Hear the rime of the Ancient Mariner
See his eye as he stops one of three
Mesmerises one of the wedding guests
Stay here and listen to the nightmares
of the Sea

And the music plays on, as the bride passes by
Caught by his spell and
the Mariner tells his tale.

Driven south to the land of the snow and ice
To a place where nobody's been
Through the snow fog flies on the albatross
Hailed in God's name,
hoping good luck it brings.

And the ship sails on, back to the North
Through the fog and ice and
the albatross follows on

The mariner kills the bird of good omen
His shipmates cry against what he's done
But when the fog clears, they justify him
And make themselves a part of the crime.

Sailing on and on and North across the sea
Sailing on and on and North 'till all is calm

The albatross begins with its vengeance
A terrible curse a thirst has begun
His shipmates blame bad luck on the Mariner
About his neck, the dead bird is hung.

And the curse goes on and on at sea
And the curse goes on and on for them and me.

"Day after day, day after day,
we stuck nor breath nor motion
As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean
Water, water everywhere and
all the boards did shrink
Water, water everywhere nor any drop to drink."

[SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE (1798-1834)]

There, calls the mariner
there comes a ship over the line
But how can she sail with no wind
in her sails and no tide.

See... onward she comes
Onwards she nears, out of the sun
See... she has no crew
She has no life, wait but there's two

Death and she Life in Death,
they throw their dice for the crew
She wins the Mariner and he belongs to her now.
Then ... crew one by one
They drop down dead, two hundred men
She... She, Life in Death.
She lets him live, her chosen one.

"One after one by the star dogged moon,
too quick for groan or sigh
Each turned his face with a ghastly pang
and cursed me with his eye
Four times fifty living men
(and I heard nor sigh nor groan),
With heavy thump, a lifeless lump,
they dropped down one by one."

[SAMUEL TAYLOR COLERIDGE (1798-1834)]

The curse it lives on in their eyes
The Mariner he wished he'd die
Along with the sea creatures
But they lived on, so did he.

And by the light of moon
He prays for their beauty not doom
With heart he blesses them
God's creatures all of them too.

Then the spell starts to break
The albatross falls from his neck
Sinks down like lead into the Sea
Then down in falls comes the rain.

Hear the groans od the long dead seamen
See them stir and they start to rise
Bodies lifted by good spirits
None of them speak
and they're lifeless in their eyes

And revenge is still sought, penance starts again
Cast into a trance and the nightmare carries on.

Now the curse is finally lifted
And the Mariner sights his home
Spirits go from the long dead bodies
Form their own light and
the Mariner's left alone

And then a boat came sailing towards him
It was a joy he could not believe
The Pilot's boat, his son and the hermit
Penance of life will fall onto Him.

And the ship it sinks like lead into the sea
And the hermit shrieves the mariner of his sins

The Mariner's bound to tell of his story
To tell his tale wherever he goes
To teach God's word by his own example
That we must love all things that God made.

And the wedding guest's a sad and wiser man
And the tale goes on and on and on.'

These guys were really on to something. MAIDEN! YEAHHHHHHHHH!

Here's today's:

Red Hot Chili Peppers- Behind the Sun

One day while bathing in the sea
My talking dolphin spoke to me
He spoke to me in symphony
From freedoms peace beneath the sea
He looked to me eyes full of love
Said yes we live behind the sun

Behind the sun

The sun goes up
And the sun gets down
But like the heart of the sun
My heart continues to pound

Now while I shower in the rain
I watch my dolphin swim away
The one who listens to the surf
Can feel the pulse beat of the earth
And like my dolphin swims so free
The sun does swim into the sea

Behind the sun

An island flying through the sky
One day your son might ask you why
And if you son should be a girl
She too might ask you of this world
The sun shines sweet upon your beach
And yes my dolphin loves to teach

Behind the sun

The sun goes up
And the sun gets down
But like the heart of the sun
My heart continues to pound

Tuesday night I saw Rufus Wainwright in concert. Along with his own material, he did some Judy Garland. Since then I've had 'Get happy' stuck in my head.

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy,
you better chase all your cares away.
Shout hallejulah c'mon get happy
get ready for the judgement day.

the sun is shinin c'mon get happy,
the lord is waitin to take your hand.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're going to the promise land

We're headin across the river to
wash your sins away in the tide.
it's all so peaceful on the other side.

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy,
you better chase all your cares away.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
get ready for the judgement day.

Forget your troubles c'mon get happy
chase ya cares away.
hallelu get happy,
before the judgement day.

The sun is shinin c'mon get happy,
the lord is waitin to take your hand.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're gunna be goin to the promise land.

were headin cross the river,
wash you're sins away in the tide.
it's quiet and peaceful on the other side.

forget your troubles get happy,
your cares fly away.
shout hallejulah get happy get ready for your judgement day.

c'mon get happy,
chase your cares away.
shout hallejulah cmon get happy,
get ready for the judgment day

The sun is shining c'mon get happy,
lord is waiting to take your hand.
hallejulah c'mon get happy,
we're going to the promise land.

headin 'cross the river,
throw your sins away in the tide.
it's all so peaceful on the other side-

shout hallelujah c'mon get happy,
ya better chase all your cares away.
shout hallejulah c'mon get happy,
get ready-get ready-get ready,
for the judgment day.

This one is for Vittoria and Modernprimitiveohio
Bjork- I miss you
I miss you
But I haven't met you yet
So special
But it hasn't happened yet
You are gorgeous
But I haven't met you yet
I remember
But it hasn't happened yet

And if you believe in dreams
Or what is more important
That a dream can come true
I, I will meet you
I was peaking

But it hasn't happened yet
I haven't been given
My best souvenir
I miss you
But I haven't met you yet
I know your habits
But wouldn't recognize you yet

And if you believe in dreams
Or what is more important
That a dream can come true
I miss you

I'm so impatient
I can't stand the wait
When will I get my cuddle?
Who are you?
I know by now that you'll arrive
By the time I stop waiting
I miss you

Ft. Lauderdale's finest- Jack off Jill

'Strawberry gashes'

Turn her over
A candle is lit
I see through her
blow it out and save all her ashes for me
Curse me
Sold her
The poison that runs its course through her
pale white skin with strawberry gashes
all over all over

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
she said kill me faster
with strawberry gashes
all over

Called her over
and asked her if she was improving
She said feels fine
it's wonderful wonderful here

Hex me told her
I drempt of a devil that knew her
Pale white skin with
strawberry gashes
all over all over

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
She said kill me faster
With strawberry gashes all over all over

I lay quiet
Waiting for her voice to say
some things you lose
and some things you just give away

Scold me build her
if only I'd held on tighter to her
pale white skin
that twisted and withered
away from me away from me

Watch me lose her
it's almost like losing myself
Give her my soul
and let them take some body else
get away from me

Watch me fault her
You're living like a disaster
She said kill me faster
With strawberry gashes all over all over ME

I have a thing for independent label sea/pirate music. (I was pirate before pirate was cool, as that's my persona at a local Ren. Faire. Anyway, there's an internet radio station I listen to every Monday night that plays all sorts of pirate/rum/sea music called Bilgemunky Radio (http://www.bilgemunky.com/radio/).

For the last week my brain's been bouncing between "All For Me Grog" from Dan Zanes "Sea Music" album by what sounds like a 10-year-old kid whose singing about grog, beer, tobacco, and wenches (bless his little heart), and "A Rovin' " by the Musical Blades on their "Surrender the Booty!" album, which has to do with thinking you're gonna have your way with a lady-of-the-night, but finding out after the fact -- it ain't free, sailor! ;)

Then there's "The Good Ship Venus" on the Rogue's Gallery CD set... but don't get me started.

Bomani "D'mite" Armah is amusing.

As for what's been stuck in my head: Billy Joel's songs "Uptown Girl" and "We Didn't Start the Fire"

Ice Cube's "The Game Lord"

And Nickelback's "Never Again" and "Just For"

And I want to rip his heart out
Just for hurting you
And I want to break his mind down
Yes I do, yes I do, yes I do

Haha. I'm getting songs stuck in my head just reading everyone's replies.

"Face Down" is a supergood song, even better live

Right now, I have "Blue and Yellow" by the Used stuck in my head.

And it's all in how you mix the two,
And it starts just where the light exists.
It's a feeling that you cannot miss,
And it burns a hole,
Through everyone that feels it.

Well you're never gonna find it,
If you're looking for it,
Won't come your way,yeah
Well you'll never find it,
If your looking for it. (looking for it)

Should've done something, but I've done it enough.
By the way, your hands were shaking,
Rather waste some time with you.

And you never would have thought in the end,
How amazing it feels just to live again,
It's a feeling that you cannot miss,
It burns a hole, through everyone that feels it.

Well you're never gonna find it,
If you're looking for it, won't come your way, yeah
Well you'll never find it, if you're looking for it. (looking for it)

Should've done something, but I've done it enough.
By the way, your hands were shaking.
Rather waste some time with you.

Should've said something, but I've said it enough.
By the way, my words were faded.
Rather waste some time with you.

(Time with you... time with you time with you
Waste some time with you... waste some time with you)

Should've done something, but I've done it enough.
By the way, your hands were shaking.
Rather waste my time with you.

Should've said something, but I've said it enough.
By the way, my words were faded.
Rather waste my time with you.

Should've done something, but I've done it enough.
By the way, my hands were shaking.
Rather waste some time with you.

Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...
Waste some time with you...

(fading)
Should've done something, but I've done it enough.
By the way, my hands were shaking.
Rather waste some time with you.

This is a song that has been going through my mind lately...

No One Is To Blame by Howard Jones

You can look at the menu but you just can't eat
You can feel the cushions but you can't have a seat
You can dip your foot in the pool but you can't have a swim
You can feel the punishment but you can't commit the sin
And you want her and she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her and she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame
You can build a mansion but you just can't live in it
You're the fastest runner but you're not allowed to win
Some break the rules
And live to count the cost
The insecurity is the thing that won't get lost
And you want her and she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her and she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame
You can see the summit but you can't reach it
It's the last piece of the puzzle but you just can't make it fit
Doctor says you're cured but you still feel the pain
Aspirations in the clouds but your hopes go down the drain
And you want her and she wants you
We want everyone
And you want her and she wants you
No one, no one, no one ever is to blame
No one ever is to blame
No one ever is to blame

Vittoria, Love Ho Jo

I love the chorus to this song. As humans and bisexuals, isn't this what we want? :flag3: :flag3:

Shake The Disease
I'm not going down on my knees,
Begging you to adore me
Can't you see it's misery
And torture for me
When I'm misunderstood
Try as hard as you can, I've tried as hard as I could
To make you see
How important it is for me
Here is a plea
From my heart to you
Nobody knows me
As well as you do
You know how hard it is for me
To shake the disease
That takes hold of my tongue
In situations like these
Understand me
Some people have to be
Permanently together
Lovers devoted to
Each other forever
Now I've got things to do
And I've said before that I know you have too
When I'm not there
In spirit I'll be there
Here is a plea
From my heart to you
Nobody knows me
As well as you do
You know how hard it is for me
To shake the disease
That takes hold of my tongue
In situations like these.
Understand me

It so reminded me of a 6' tall guy called Rab I chased after but failed 2 get on a holiday on the island when I was about 15. I ended up with his brother who was hardly 6' tall and was covered in acne! The things we do to get near to those we want! (Shivers in revulsion....)

This is one of many songs that's always stuck in my head
"Running Out Of Time" by Ozzy Osbourne from the Down To Earth Album

Been around this world so many times
If you could only see my mind
I watch my secret heaven turn to hell

Faith alone has guided me
The ghost of my own destiny
I haven't even got a soul to sell

All the thing I put me through
I wouldn't wish my hell on you
You'll never know what's going on inside

Just another lonely broken hero
Picking up the pieces of my mind
Running out of faith and hope and reason
I'm running out of time
Running out of time

Trouble always seems find
A way to live inside my mind
My haunted head and me remain alone
Underneath my masqerade
A simple man who's so afraid
I try to find a light to guide me home

Momma please just hold me tight
Feeling so afraid tonight
Cause your the only one that really knows

Just another lonely broken hero
Picking up the pieces of my mind
Running out of faith and hope and reason
I'm running out of time
Running out of time

Fighting for my sanity
Many nights of tragedy
Got to leave my Wretched ways behind

Just another lonely broken hero
Picking up the pieces of my mind
Running out of fate and hope and reason
I'm running out of time
Running out of time
I'm running out of time
Running out of time

Here's today's
Tiger Army- Forever fades away

It burns like a fire in the night
It polarizes and becomes her starlight
Starlight

Under the trees, in the night
You'll find it there
In the space between heartbeats
Where the whole world disappears

In another garden
I'm lost again
Like the razor's kiss
It's you I hold

And the flame still burns (forever)
And her hearts still yearns (forever)
And in my dreams I've found this place
But the endless pain (forever)
And the light grows faint (forever)
As forever fades away
Forever fades away

Inside your dreams you will see forever ?
It's around us but we cannot stay
Moments are all we have

But in this moment we can live a lifetime here
All thats passed and shrunken
Falls away under the trees

In another garden
I'm lost again
Like the razor's kiss
It's you I hold

And the flame still burns (forever)
And her hearts still yearns (forever)
And in my dreams I've found this place
But the endless pain (forever)
And the light grows faint (forever)
As forever fades away
Forever fades away

In another garden
I'm lost again
Like the razor's kiss
It's you I hold

And the flame still burns (forever)
And her hearts still yearns (forever)
And in my dreams I've found this place
But the endless pain (forever)
And the light grows faint (forever)
As forever fades away
Forever fades away
As forever fades away
Forever fades away
As forever fades away
Forever fades away

The Pogues- if I should fall from Grace with God
If I should fall from grace with god
Where no doctor can relieve me
If Im buried neath the sod
But the angels wont receive me

Let me go, boys
Let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry

This land was always ours
Was the proud land of our fathers
It belongs to us and them
Not to any of the others

Let them go, boys
Let them go, boys
Let them go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry

Bury me at sea
Where no murdered ghost can haunt me
If I rock upon the waves
Then no corpse can lie upon me

Its coming up three, boys
Keeps coming up three, boys
Let them go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry

If I should fall from grace with god
Where no doctor can relieve me
If Im buried neath the sod
But the angels wont receive me

Let me go, boys
Let me go, boys
Let me go down in the mud
Where the rivers all run dry

Yes, the unutterable humiliation of being seen with a short man! Which, as it happens, reminds me of a song:

Short People -- Randy Newman

Short People got no reason
To live

They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little feet

Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Round here

Short People got nobody
To love

They got little baby legs
And they stand so low
You got to pick 'em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That go beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin' peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They're gonna get you every time
Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
'Round here

[biwords begs the forgiveness of the entire bisexual.com membership for being 5'6" tall -- it was all my parents' fault] :)

Tsunami Bomb- I bought You

I know I have the chance to meet you, but that's a risky move.
I know I might have to surrender my preexisting idea of you.

Right now you're a stranger-let's keep it that way.
No harm meant.
Let's keep it that way.
I'm quite content knowing that I don't know you-I can pretend.
Let's keep it that way.

You could never understand how much you mean to me.
I don't want you going and screwing it up with your personality.
I'll stay in this dark corner of my room where I can't be seen, but I can still see you.

Right now you're a stranger-let's keep it that way.
No harm meant.
Let's keep it that way.
I'm quite content knowing that I don't know you-I can pretend.
Let's keep it that way.

You could be anyone.
My fantasy would be undone.
I want to continue looking up to you.
Yeah!

Let's keep it that way.
No harm meant.
Let's keep it that way.
I'm quite content knowing that I don't know you-I can pretend.
Let's keep it that way.

I listen to this song several times a day every day. Almost makes me weep every time. Especially now that I can feel again.

Hi I'm new on here but I get this song stuck in my head alot.....lol

Walking through forests of palm tree apartments
scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
down by the waterhole drunk every Friday,
eating their nuts saving their raisins for Sunday.

Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows,
they're fast but they're lazy, and sleep in green meadows.

Let's bungle in the jungle
well, that's all right by me.
I'm a tiger when I want love,
but I'm a snake if we disagree.

Paramore- born for this

oh no, i just keep on falling
(back to the same old)
and where's hope, when misery comes crawling
(oh my way-eh)
with your fate, you'll trigger a landslide
(misery)
and kill off this common sense of mind

it takes an acquired minds to taste to taste to taste this wine
cant down it with your eyes
so we don't need the headlines
we don't need the headlines
we just want

(We want the airwaves back
we want the airwaves back)

everybody sing
like it's the last song you will ever sing
tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now?
everybody live, like it's the last day
you will ever see
tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now?

right now, you're the only reason
(I'm not letting go oh!)
And find out not everyone's worth pleasing
(woah oh)
you'll trigger a landslide
(misery)
to kill off this finite state of mind

it takes an acquired mind, to taste to taste to taste this wine
cant down it with your eyes
so we don't need the headlines
(no we don't want your headlines!)
we just want!

(we want the airwaves back
we want the airwaves back)

everybody sing
like it's the last song you will ever sing
tell me tell me do you feel the pressure now?
everybody live, like it's the last day

everybody sing

I've just discovered this one, by Tom Robinson... a bit of a "Gay Anthem" I think:

The British Police are the best in the world
I don't believe one of these stories I've heard
'Bout them raiding our pubs for no reason at all
Lining the customers up by the wall
Picking out people and knocking them down
Resisting arrest as they're kicked on the ground
Searching their houses and calling them queer
I don't believe that sort of thing... happens... here

Sing if you're glad to be gay!
Sing if you're happy that way!

Pictures of naked young women are fun
In Titbits and Playboy, page three of The Sun
There's no nudes in Gay News, oh one magazine
But they still find excuses to call it obscene
Read how disgusting we are in the press
The Telegraph people and Sunday Express
Molesters of children, corruptors of youth
It's there in the paper, it... must be the truth

Sing if you're glad to be gay!
Sing if you're happy that way!

Don't try to kid us... that if you're discreet
You're perfectly safe as you walk down the street
You don't have to mince or make bitchy remarks
To get beaten unconscious and left in the dark
I had a friend who was gentle and short
He was lonely one evening... he went for a walk
Queerbashers caught him and kicked in his teeth
He was only hospitalised... for a week

Sing if you're glad to be gay!
Sing if you're happy that way!

So sit back and watch as they close all our clubs
Arrest us for meeting and raid all our pubs
Make sure your boyfriend's at least 21
So only your friends and your brothers get done
Lie to your workmates, lie to your folks
Put down the queens and tell anti-queer jokes
Gay Lib's ridiculous, join their laughter
'The buggers are legal now... what more are they after?'

Sing if you're glad to be gay!
Sing if you're happy this way!

---------------

Its dated slightly since the 1970s, I'll admit. But still quite powerful. Many thanks to the member who recommended that I check out Tom's work... can't quite remember who, but thanks anyway. :)

Not really a song but more a repeditive tune - who remembers watching Popeye, now think more closely - the tune repeditively hummed by Alice the Goon.

OK, I'm probably gonna get LYNCHED for this one, but here it is anyway... "Cheeky Flamenco" by The Cheeky Girls:

Supremely irritating, yet strangely captivating at the same time.

I actually saw these two shopping in Bond Street a while back.

that was cute, SB..and they both have nice butts, but right with it on the selection page was paco de lucia the flamenco guitarist.. and those songs really stuck in my mind.. thanx for reminding me there's more to YOUtube than satire and biting comedy..

PS: I reckon Mika would kick Jake Shears' ass in a fight...

hmmm sounds like a cross between early queen and the rocky horror picture show sound tack..

"we were the good ship venus...my gawd you should have seen us....

the figurehead was a nude in bed, andthe mast twere a rampant penis"

hon, hit me offline, i only have a few verses, would love to learn more of them.. was one of my late cousins' favorite songs when the rowdy pot smokin rogue was drinking and playin his guitar

This much is True by Spandu Ballet keeps me in this weird happy mood. It's just a mellow tune. And I guess the freakish irony in know what the name of the group means, is pretty neat, too. Spandu was a German village where war criminals were executed by hanging. Thus, the death throes of the hung were called ballets, Spandu Ballet. Not exactly sure why that image appeals to me, perhaps the idea of justice allowing a sense of vindication, but it appeals nonetheless.

And I keep a few 'notes' in my skull.

"do do do"

Crosstown Traffic by Hendrix and another tune I describe as simply, "boom, boom, boom!" Not sure the name of the song, not really interested, but someone knows and posts, thanks in advance. :)

"Number one, time is running out.
Number two, time is running out.
Number three, time is running out.
Number four, let it all hang out!
Boom, boom, boom!"

I've watched SWAT too much, especially the training scene and the plane test scene. I know it's scripted and laid out, but I love watching a team work so smooth. It's pure art.

Lately I've had this song in my head. Normally, when I have a song stuck inside running around teasing me with it's incessant melody I feel like grabbing the nearest blunt object and bludgeoning the office a*hole. Yeah, that guy. You know the one I'm talking about.

This song though, I'm enjoying. You might call it annoying. I just call it quirky. If you dare to listen though, you might agree or you just might, just maybe, feel like treating me like the afore mentioned office jerkoff. Hee hee. Listen at your own peril. Don't say I didn't warn you. Wow, if that wasn't a dare. Heh heh heh.

I actually think Lily Allen is quite pretty, despite Biwords calling her "a tart". If only one could get her to wear a pair of black leggings, a denim mini-skirt, some ballet pumps and a strappy top, I think she would scrub up nicely.

Although her accent does get on my nerves a bit... maybe a slightly middle-class one would be more elegant.

Gawd, if she read this, she'd probably hurl abuse at me!!!

HAHA!!! Yeah true! But Amy Winehouse... she's like some kinda extra from a Vampire movie! except with lots of tattoos!!!

In terms of personality and voice, I definitely prefer Amy. But Lily is prettier, IMO.

"british accent"??? What happened to "I say, jolly good show, Tarquin old boy!", "whatto" and all that stiff upper lip stuff? I guess Lily's a fairly typical lower-class London accent for people of a certain mind-set.

I don't talk like that though!!! ;)

Tiger Army- Outlaw heart
desert night under lonely stars. crusing down the highway takes me farther from home. whiskey and regret... neither can erase the fact that i have done wrong. so now i'm on the run. the law is on my trail. let down the only girl that ever seemed to be the one for me, so now i wander alone. alone in a cheap motel room. praying to the Lord above. burden of the past rests so heavy on my shoulders. my conscience carries the weight of blood. cigarette smoke and shadow. a neon cactus in the night. did what i did because i thought that i had no choice, but there's always another way. i look to the moon and stars, somewhere underneath them she's there. never spoke the words of love i hid in my heart. if she heard them now would she still care? wonder if she's thinking of me? does she hate me for what i've done? how i wish that i could change everything and go back now that my last chance is gone. it's gone. moon, will you tell her for me, i'm sorry for all the trouble that i've caused. if only i could find a way to return to her someday, for i long to hold her in my arms. but i fear that i'm not long for this world, because i will not go out without a fight. i'm running forever and if they should catch me... one last thought of her before my gun is fired.

I Get Around
9am in your bedroom
The radio alarm clock is set for soon
I know your friends and you know mine too
You don’t tell on me, I won’t tell on you
I get around

Seconds to the elevator from station
How can I resist that kind of invitation?
7th floor and I’m in trouble
Gotta get me back down to street level
I get around

Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no
Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no

Quietly slide away off the mattress
Find my clothing on the bedpost
Slowly tiptoe out of this mess
As I slip back into last night’s dress
I get around

Put a little lipstick back on my face
Blow a little kiss to you from the doorway
Walk the hall right past the staircase
Take the elevator back down out of this place
I get around

Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no
Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no

I say yes when I oughta say no
I say yes when I oughta say no
I say yes, I say yes, I say yes
I say yes, I say yes, I say yes
Say yes, say yeah

Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no
Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no

Here I come when I better go
I say yes when I oughta say no
Here I come when I better go

living room by tegan and sara, it's been stuck in my head for two days
Great song though, so it's all good.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aznNG7OVpsw

My windows look into your living room
Where I spend the afternoon on top of you
I wonder what it is
That I did to make you move in
Across away from me

I hope I never figure out
Who broke your heart
And if I do, if I do

I'd spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
Well I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind

My windows look into your bathroom
Where I spend the evening watching
You get yourself clean
And I wonder why it is
That they left this bathroom so unclean
So unlike me

I hope I never figure out
Who broke your heart
And if I do, if I do

I'd spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
I'd spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind

Well I hope I never figure out
Who broke your heart
And baby if I do
Well I hope I never figure out
Who broke your heart
Baby if I do

Well I'd spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind
Spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind
Spend all night losing sleep
I'd spend the night and I'd lose my mind
If I spend the night then I lose my mind

AFI- Miss Murder
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? Whoa oh oh

With just a look
They shook
And heavens bowed before him
Simply a look
Can break
Your heart.

The stars that pierce the sky
He left them all behind
We're left to wonder why
He left us all ... behind

Hey Miss Murder can I?
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? (Whoa oh oh)

Dreams of his crash
Won't pass
Oh how they all adored him
Beauty will last
When spiraled
Down.

The stars that mystify
He left them all behind
And how his children cried
He left us all ... behind

Hey Miss Murder can I?
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life? Whoa oh oh

What's the hook, the twist within this verbose mystery?
I would gladly bet my life upon it
that the ghost you love, your ray of light will fizzle out
Without hope, hope. We're the empty set just floating through wrapped, in skin,
Ever searching for what we were promised
Reaching for that golden ring we'd never let go...
who would ever let us put our filthy hands upon it?

Hey Miss Murder can I?
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life?(Whoa oh oh)

Hey Miss Murder can I?
Hey Miss Murder can I?
Make beauty stay if I
Take my life?(Whoa oh)

one of their best songs IMO.

He would see faces in movies, on T.V., in magazines, and in books...He thought that some of these faces might be right for him...And through the years, by keeping an ideal facial structure fixed in his mind...Or somewhere in the back of his mind...That he might, by force of will, cause his face to approach those of his ideal...The change would be very subtle...It might take ten years or so...Gradually his face would change its' shape...A more hooked nose...Wider, thinner lips...Beady eyes...A larger forehead.

He imagined that this was an ability he shared with most other people...They had also molded their faces according to some ideal...Maybe they imagined that their new face would better suit their personality...Or maybe they imagined that their personality would be forced to change to fit the new appearance...This is why first impressions are often correct...Although some people might have made mistakes...They may have arrived at an appearance that bears no relationship to them...They may have picked an ideal appearance based on some childish whim or momentary impulse...Some may have gotten half-way there, and then changed their minds.

He wonders if he too might have made a similar mistake.

Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick

Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, ever forget
These images

Well, I'd never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you're gone and I'm haunted
And I bet you are just fine

Did I make it that
Easy to walk right in and out
Of my life?

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

AFI- Kiss and Control

Watch the stars,
Turn you to nothing.
Now blush and smile as they whisk you away.

Part your lips a bit more,
I'll swallow your fear.
I will show you how.
All the bite marks impress
A need to be here,
A need to see.

City lights, like rain,
Dance and explode.
Fall upon debutantes

Reeling from nights that
Kiss and Control,
All of our, broken hearts.

Velvet burns,
The wrists while restraining..
You blushed and smiled,
And said you would stay.

One more time seal my breath,
I'll feed you the sky.
I will show you how.
Steal the glamour from death,
And before you die,
Oh, you should see.

City lights, like rain,
Dance and explode.
Fall upon debutantes

Reeling from nights that
Kiss and Control,
All of our, broken hearts.

Hearrrrrrtssss.
Ourrrrr heartssss.

"We all want to die like movie stars" you said as you jumped from the height of our cutting room floor.
While above us glowing, exploding, our dreams burst forth in light in death.
Hold me and tell me,
"We'll burn like stars. We'll burn as we fall. Watch as the city lights DANCE FOR US!"

City lights, like rain,
Dance and explode.
Fall upon the pain of our lives,

Reeling from nights that
Kiss and Control,
Fall apart, the pain of our lives, has pain.

Dance and explode.

City lights like rain
City lights sowcress me

Kiss and Control

All of our, broken hearts.

I have several songs playing over and over in my head--or at least parts of them anyway and that is not a bad thing--

One verse, well--actually the chorus of the song--is from the new Lyle Lovett CD--"Lyle Lovett and His Large Band: It's not big-it's large"

The song is called "South Texas Girl" and I love the chorus:

"Saint Mother Maria watch over us please
As we wander around in this dangerous world...

Thank Mother Maria, there is nothing so sweet
As the the undying love of a South Texas Girl.."

this verse is sung both before and after the main body of the song as a prelude and postlude -first by Guy Clark who has this great rough voice--then later with Lyle and Guy doing it as a duet--

To hear the way its sung--it just has this sort of beautiful, bittersweet sound to it----but the cut on the album is rather orchestrated--I'd really like to hear an "acoustic" version of it...

There is another song from this album I love to--"I Will Rise Up/Ain't No More Cane"--which is an anthemic sort of song---once a sort of bittersweet song...

Lyle has done it once again in my book

Another song ringing in my head is a bit lighter from Over the Rhine--called "Don't Wait for Tom"--a bit of a romp that plays homage to Tom Waits

Finally--a song from Los Lobos and their most recent CD--"The Town and The City"--"It's A Long Way to Gila Bend"---another haunting song---that reminds me of one of their first hits from way back "Will the Wolf Survive?"

12voltman59
Sep 6, 2007, 7:26 PM
I have also been teaching myself the lyrics to a short little song done by Wlllie Nelson on a CD from some years back---"Spirit" titled "Too Sick to Pray" so this song is really in my head--on purpose--I have a hell of a time remembering the lyrics to a short little song like this--I have no idea how musicians can recall the lyrics and the music of scores of songs!!!

I am also trying to teach myself the acoustic guitar---one of these days I will take some lessons from someone who knows what they are doing but I love the lyrics of this song---its sort of religious in a way--to my mind--much more profoundly so than most of the stuff that is put out by all of the various Christian artists-

"Too Sick to Pray"

Verse 1
I've been to sick to pray Lord...that's why we ain't talked in awhile.

Been some of them days Lord...I thought I was on my last mile, but I'm feelin' fine OK, Lord and I'm glad I called you today.

Never needed you more---I should have called you before but I've been too sick to pray.

Verse 2
Remember the family Lord...I know they will remember you---and all of their prayers Lord---they talk to you just like I do.

Well I reckon that's all Lord---I can't think of nothin' more to say--and thank you my friend--

We'll be talkin' again if I'm not too sick to pray...

(Guitar instrumental close)

I might sorta sound like Willie when I sing-- but I don't think I could ever pick a guitar in the way he does---you can tell when Willie is playing his hole filled guitar in the first three or four notes----

Lyrics like this are why I will ALWAYS love Death Metal:

Exhumed- A song for the dead

The ashen grey muse commissions a new verse
A song to while away the long sojourn in the hearse
Yet all of us who danse macabre to these dour, dismal tunes
Become cold, grim and hard as the dirt upon the tomb...

In darkened dirges death's knell peals out it's toll
As another cadaver is consigned six feet down to its hole
But ere the last shovel of dirt falls on the wall of the box
We gravely offer a salute to those about to rot...

So lift up your severed heads, in a song for the dead
Life's course ever runs red, so let no lyric remain unsaid
As from our mouths the melody is bled, in a symphony scripted in red
Like rats by the piper we're led, to join in this song for the dead...

The humor of the gallons never fails to ring true
In this dead, bleak, sick world that we're hung, drawn and quartered though
As each internecine instrument plays its own bloody part
The hammering of coffin nails outpaces the beating of our hearts...

Symphonic surgery orchestrated, a cleaver conducts
The execrable epiphany comes too late, just to reduce us to chunks
Rising up from the sod heaves a gross, putrid breath
As the chorus is joined in this song for the dead...

So lift up your severed heads, in a song for the dead
Life's course ever runs red, so let no lyric remain unsaid
As from our mouths the melody is bled, in a symphony scripted in red
Like rats by the piper we're led, to join in this song for the dead...

Truncated toccatas deranged - raked across barbed strings and hacked
Eviscerated etudes for the de-brained - plucked upon heartstring stretched
on the rack
Medicinal movements decomposed - Regurgitating oratorios obscene
Forensic fugues and de-boned - Mutilating the melody's method and means...

The crepitated coda dies in mid-refrain
As the sheet-music is obscured by a sanguine scarlet stain
Shattered stave lodged in your split-open splattered brain
The ruptured meter falters as the bow is fretted once again...

Acrid arias are screeched
The bloated thorax is breached
Abrading viscera with bleach
Grotesquely gavage the deceased...

Cleaving the cleft
Broken notes bleed into a mess
Falling on ears so deaf
So it ever is in death...

Carbonized cantatas corrupt - ringing out, sewing seeds of dischord and
dismay
Suppurated sonatas erupt - Purulent pizzicatos slicing every which way
The truncated cadence is sundered - Bloody scraps of sheet music
unintellibly scrawled
Threnodies resonate six feet under - To where all life's fractured melodies
will finally resolve...

The symphonic slaughter's swells without restraint
As the cacophonous cadenza splits your eardrums clean in twain
The repugnant orchestra pit an abattoir of death and pain
The hatchet falls in sharp staccato until everyone is slain...

(EDITORS NOTE, I DON'T CARE IF THIS DISTURBS YOU. DEATH METAL IS QUITE POSSIBLY THE BEST WAY TO CHANNEL NEGATIVE ENERGY INTO SOMETHING CATHARTIC AND BEAUTIFUL)

I apologize in advance, but I have been suffering alone long enough.

'Malleus Maleficarum'
Open my eyes as I submerge and I won't deny what I've been since birth.
I'll die drowned by your standards.
Breathe in the life of the summmer's death as the orange and red breathe their first breath,
so welcome as they're burning through. We all begin to burn.
Autumn's flame dance's in my eyes Set alight for all we've learned.
My ashes falling. My skin is singed but it heals my heart and with glowing pride I'll wear my scars.
I'm honored by your hatred. Leaves fall we arise again, and the end impending, it will begin.
So welcome as it's burning through. Ashes fall and I'm rising up again.
Ashes fall. Ashes fall. Ashes fall as we all arise.

This song was sent to me by a most wonderful man.......

Say Goodbye
( Dave Matthews Band)

So here we are tonight
You and me together
The storm outside, the fire is bright
And in your eyes I see
What's on my mind
You've got me wild
Turned around inside
And then desire, see, is creeping
Up heavy inside here
And know you feel the same way
I do now
Now let's make this an evening
Lovers for a night, lovers for tonight
Stay here with me, love, tonight
Just for an evening
When we make
Our passion pictures

You and me twist up
Secret creatures
And we'll stay here
Tomorrow go back to being friends

Go back to being friends
But tonight let's be lovers,
We kiss and sweat
We'll turn this better thing
To the best
Of all we can offer, Just a rogue kiss
Tangled tongues and lips,
See me this way
I'm turning and turning for you
Girl just tonight

Float away here with me
An evening just wait and see
But tomorrow go back to your man
I'm back to my world
And we're back to being friends
Wait and see me,
Tonight let's do this thing
All we are is wasting hours until the sun comes up it's all ours
On our way here
Tomorrow go back to being friends

Go back to being friends
Tonight let's be lovers, say you will
And hear me call, soft-spoken whispering love
A thing or two I have to say here
Tonight let's go all the way then
Love I'll see you,
Just for this evening
Let's strip down, trip out at this
One evening starts with a kiss
Run away

And tomorrow
back to being friends
Lovers...love...lovers
Just for tonight, one night...love you
And tomorrow say goodbye

Tears come to my eyes and are dried by him for this

Not That Different
(Collin Raye)

She said we're much too different
We're from two separate worlds
And he admitted she was partly right
But in his heart's defense he told her
What they had in common
Was strong enough to bond them for life
He said look behind your own soul
And the person that you'll see
Just might remind you of me

I laugh, i love, i hope, i try
I hurt, i need, i fear, i cry
And i know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you

She could hardly argue
With his pure and simple logic
But logic never could convince a heart
She had always dreamed of loving someone more exotic
And he just didn't seem to fit the part
So she searched for greener pastures
But never could forget
What he whispered when she left

I laugh, i love, i hope, i try
I hurt, i need, i fear, i cry
And i know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you

Was it time or was it truth
Maybe both lead her back to his door
As her tears fell at his feet
She didn't say "i love you"
What she said meant even more

I laugh, i love, i hope, i try
I hurt, i need, i fear, i cry
And i know you do the same things, too
So we're really not that different, me and you

This song will not leave me....

If I Were You
(Collin Raye)

You wanna know, where we go from here
So many roads, and none that seem clear
Is what we had enough, to last a whole life through?
Who knows
Baby who knows

So your asking me, what do we do
Cause time moves so fast, and the chances seem so few
Is it to much to think, that we could have it all
Who knows
We may never know

But if i were you I'd promise to live life for all its worth
Take all that you've been given, and leave your mark upon this earth
Trust your heart to show you everything you'll ever need
And if I were you, I'd fall in love with me

So hold me close, I'll kiss away your fears
I wont promise the moon, but I'll promise to be here
And what if together it gets better every day
Who knows
Baby who knows

But if i were you I'd promise to live life for all its worth
Take all that you've been given and leave your mark upon this earth
Trust your heart to show you everything you'll ever need
And if i were you i'd fall in love with me

But if i were you I'd promise to live life for all its worth
Take all that you've been given and leave your mark upon this earth
Trust your heart to show you everything you'll ever need
And if i were you I'd fall in love with me

If i were you I'd fall in love with me

For me, there is nothing in this world more precious than words....I only wish I had a gift for writing for then the thoughts and feelings that I have within would have and outlet to share with others.

This has always been one of my very favorites among my friends and I. Never could go to the pub and not play it in the juke box and sing along I just downloaded it not long ago and play it almost every night I go into work now.

Piano Man - Billy Joel

It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin

He says, "Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet
And I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes"

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be

He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me"
As a smile ran away from his face
"Well, I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place"

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life

And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
But it's better than drinking alone

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about life for a while

And the piano sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say "Man what are you doing here?"

Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright

I have one that become kind of a mantra for me lately. Its Josh Groban's Never let go.

I cant understand it, the search for an answer was met with a darker day
We have been handed these moments forever, but I'm reassured theres another way.
You dont have to close your eyes, there is room for love again, ease the pain to realize all that love Can be. Forced apart by time and sand, take a stand but take my hand, and Never Let Go.

Broken, but once connected, we were so stong and so blessed in such simple ways. So dont let me go it alone!

So hold your head up to the skies, nothing down below but me, face the truth to realize all that we could be. Torn apart by rage and fear, hold on to what brought you here, and dont let it go, Never Let go.

Turn your head up to the sky, nothing down below but me, face the truth and realize what all we could be..Dont let go.

Lately, it's AFI's 'God called in sick today"
Almost forgot:
Let's admire the pattern forming.
Murderous filigree.
I'm caught in the twisting of the vine.
Go ascend with ivy,climbing.
Ignore and leave for me the headstone crumbling behind.
I can't help my laughter as she cries.
My soul brings tears to angelic eyes.

Let's amend the classic story, close it so beautifully,
I'll let animosity unwind.
Steal away the darkened pages, hidden so shamefully.
I'll still feel the violence of the lines.

I can't stand my laughter as they cry.
My soul brings tears to angelic eyes.
And miles away my mother cries.
Omnipotence, nurturing malevolence.

Some of Davey Havok's lyrics are just SO damn visceral.
And he's hot, too

Lately its been "One" - Three Dog Night

One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes, it's the saddest experience you'll ever know
`Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest number, worse than two

It's just no good anymore since she went away
Now I spend my time just making rhymes of yesterday

One is the loneliest, number one is the loneliest
Number one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
One is the loneliest, one is the loneliest
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
It's just no good anymore since she went away
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest
(Number) One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGTDRztaCCw

I find the lyrics quite amusing and bizarely relevant ;):

I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost in the sounds
I hear in my mind
All of these voices
I hear in my mind all of these words
I hear in my mind all of this music

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
when it breaks my heart

Suppose I never, ever met you
Suppose we never fell in love
Suppose I never, ever let you kiss me so sweet and so soft
Suppose I never, ever saw you
Suppose you never, ever called
Suppose I kept on singing love songs just to break my own fall
Just to break my fall
Just to break my fall
Just to break my fall
Break my fall
Break my fall

All my friends say that of course it's gonna get better
Gonna get better
Better better better better better better better

I never loved nobody fully
Always one foot on the ground
And by protecting my heart truly
I got lost
In the sounds
I hear in my mind
All of these voices
I hear in my mind all of these words
I hear in my mind
All of this music
And it breaks my heart
And It breaks my heart

I hear in my mind
All of these voices
I hear in my mind all of these words
I hear in my mind
All of this music
And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
and It Breaks my Heart
when it Breaks my heart
but it breaks my heart
when it breaks my heart
breaks my heart
and it breaks my heart
and it breaks my heart
and it breaks my heart
and it breaks my heart

Stuck in a time warp but musically it's fun to play with guitar

Across the Universe intertwined with Strawberry Fields

Words are flying out like
endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy
are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me
Let me take you down, cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's Jai guru deva om
Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out
It doesn't matter much to me

Images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe
Let me take you down, cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's Jai guru deva om
No one I think is in my tree
I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right
That is I think it's not too bad

Probably my favorite Pink Floyd song ever.

A pillow of winds

A cloud of eiderdown
Draws around me
Softening a sound.
Sleepy time, and I lie,
With my love by my side,
And she's breathing low.

And the candle dies.

When night comes down
You lock the door.
The book falls to the floor.
As darkness falls
The waves roll by,
The seasons change
The wind is wry.

Now wakes the hour
Now sleeps the swan
Behold the dream
The dream is gone.
Green fields are calling
It's falling, in a golden door.

And deep beneath the ground,
The early morning sounds
And I go down.
Sleepy time, and I lie,
With my love by my side,
And she's breathing low.

And I rise, like a bird,
In the haze, when the first rays
Touch the sky.

And the night wings die.

Well, for the last ten years... off and on... it's been "Aenima" by Tool. Recently it's been "Hooker With a Penis" by Tool. I suspect Hooker is stuck in my head because recently I've been trying to learn how to play it on my guitar. The same thing happened a few months ago while I was trying to learn "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath. Whenever I try to learn a song, it gets stuck in there and plays over and over and over... so forth n so on.

The Tool song that always does it for me is 'Flood'
It's all about everything you know and hold dear falling to pieces.
A twisted, visceral journey into their collective psyches.
A lot of people don't see past the darkness. It's a shame, as these men make very life affirming music, for those with the patience to deconstruct it.
Undertow in general, really. It's such a beautifully morbid and dark album. Recurring themes of water, isolation and drowning. Fuckin' great stuff.
Danny Carey is one of my favorite drummers EVER along with Bonham(Led Zeppelin), Proscriptor MacGovern(Absu), and of course, Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Testament, Fantomas).

I don't think I was ever really obsessed with Tool, but the first time I heard them when I was 14 I was instantly a fan. Aenima is one of those albums that changed the way I perceived the world at that time. Another album that opened my brain around the same time was Point Blank by Nailbomb.

Man, oh man--did I find a song that is blowing me out of my socks--I found it in the past few days on MySpace--the song that was on my page had been eliminated by the group since they had posted some new ones. I did not like what they had and did a search for something different, if not new.

After several attempts--I decided to see what songs a particular artist had up on their site---my search took me to the site of Buddy and Julie Miller.

There is a song on there, titled: "Out in the Rain"--which is credited to both of them, and it does appear on a compliation, best hits kind of CD of both of them--but it actually first was released on a 1999 solo release by Julie, from her CD called "Broken Things"

This song has totally captured me---I have played it over and over again---and still cannot get tired of it.

The song has some great lyrics and some really great accompanying musical and vocal accompaniment---Julie is the lead singer and Buddy sings along with the chorus--and in a final repeat of the chorus to end the song-he and Julie kind of sing the chorus 'around' each other.

I don't know who plays the lead guitar--but it is a hard, driving, "jangly" Byrds/Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers style of work----

The total package is just great---I wished I had discovered this song back closer to 1999, but I am glad that I know about it now--

here are the lyrics:

OUT IN THE RAIN
Capo IV
Intro: (Em)(C)(D)(Em) . . . (Em)(C)(D)(Em)
(Em)These streets all (C)know me
(D)The shadows (Em)whisper
The night keeps (C)looking back at (D)me with neon (Em)eyes
And if they've (C)seen you
(D)They're not (Em)talking
You think by (C)now maybe they'd (D)sympathize

CHORUS:
(Em)Out in the (C)rain
(D)I keep on (Em)walking
Out in the (C)rain
Like the (D)broken-hearted (Em)do
I could be (C)wrong but (D)that's where you'll (Em)find me
Out in the (C)rain
Just (D)looking for (Em)you

(Em)(C)(D)(Em)
The sky is (C)crying
(D)The wind's a(Em)gainst me
Blows like some (C)fugitive with (D)nowhere left to (Em)hide
I'm down to (C)nothing
(D)But just this (Em)heartache
That I keep (C)carrying a(D)round inside

CHORUS
(Em)I take no (C)comfort
(D)In my com(Em)panion
The rain is (C)coming down now (D)wild and uncontrolled
(Em)Don't try to (C)stop me
(D)You best take (Em)shelter
Tonight the (C)sky it will not (D)be consoled
CHORUS (repeated twice)

Just reading the lyrics do not do this song justice---if you like "roots/alt rock" style of music and have never heard this song---do check it out---

I do know that songs resonate with us individually for different reasons---and I really have no idea why this one hooked me so strongly---but I just love this song.
It may not do anything for you--but I hope it does if you like the genre and style of music this song fits into.

Tiger Army- Ghostfire
Unseen to the eyes, but ablaze in your heart
It scorches from inside, just as it haunts
It is unknown to young lovers, intoxicated by spring
But when I feel its icy flames, they’ll know everything

It lives where love has died… this Ghostfire
Where poison flowers bloom, it sears from beyond sight
In the graveyard of promises, it burns right through the night
Only a lover lost burns in Ghostfire

Lovers spurned took their revenge, lie in cells tonight
Once consumed they turn to ash, in its cold blue light
For those who can't take the pain—
They extinguish the spark of life
For others it comforts, a companion in the night

It lives where love has died… this Ghostfire
Where poison flowers bloom, it sears from beyond sight
In the graveyard of promises, it burns right through the night
Only a lover lost burns in Ghostfire
Only a lover lost burns in Ghostfire
Only a lover lost burns in Ghostfire

Hell, while I'm at it, this one refuses to get out of my head
AFI- the despair factor
Along the path where the stream is talking,
I breathe the mist and continue walking.
The wood it whispers in a language of it's own.
As a sigh escaped my lips,
I feel the light caress of fingertips that,
steal away the breath and leave me on my own.

Waiting by the stairs. (Waiting, I despair)
Waiting, I despair. (Waiting by the stairs)

My whole life is a dark room.
One, big, dark room.

Do I hear the hollow sound,
Footsteps resounding on this frozen ground,
Or the familiar disappointment of the echoes of my own?

Waiting by the stairs. (Waiting i despair)
Waiting, I despair. (Waiting by the stairs)

Somehow I ended up here in between,
Where there is always the comfort,
Of knowing I'll never be seen.
When I fall
When I fall
I wait for just one touch,
And I fall

Weightless,
Endless,
Faithless, I'll adore you.
A single touch, before I fade. Painless let me pass through.
Weightless,
Endless,
Faithless, I'll adore you.
A single touch, before I fade. Painless let me pass through.

Maybe I already listed this, but I've heard it like 10 times in the last 2 days.

Nice one, Tom. I can kinda relate to some of those lyrics, in a way.

It reminded me of a balad I like by the thrash band Death Angel:

http://media.putfile.com/Death-Angel--Veil-Of-Deception

"Veil Of Deception"

Affectation was an early sign
Of a twisted mind
All virtues had faded away
Apprehension made her cold
But warm she was inside
The child within her died
And left her with a heart of stone

Surface anger was a thin disguise
Yet at night she cries
Behold the pain in her eyes
Degradation was a grind
Her true self left behind
Compassion you will find
Hidden by a veil of deception

And so the story goes
That's the way she chose to live her life
And anybody knows
The way it feels when you hurt inside
She's running from herself
The game of life in which she played

Looking back upon the early years
There was room for tears
But she chose to push them away
Condemnation was a vice
She chose to roll the dice
And so she paid the price
Misery was her only friend

Inner feelings were a neutral zone
Though she tried to condone
In a world she faced so alone
Her salvation came too late
And on that day she died
No one even cried
Forgot about the veil of deception

And so the story goes
That's the way she chose to live her life
And anybody knows
The way it feels when your hurt inside
She's running from herself
The game of life in which she played

its the worst when its a song you really dont know the words too, so the chorus just repeats over and over again.

The worst for me was the Chicken Dance song, after attending a wedding reception. It lasted about a week.

"My love lies limp" - Alternative TV
http://www.badongo.com/file/7185132

"I never want to find out who the girls have been screwing
I never want to know who the guys have been doing
It's a mess up
It's a fuck up
'Cause fucking anybody always pisses me off rather alot
I never care what position I lie in
I'v never bothered to keep a nymph trying
It's a muck up
It's a screw up
'Cause screwing anybody always knocks me up rather alot
Guitar solo
I never care who I go to bed with
male or female there's never any, never any, never any incentive
It's a bother
It's a cocker
'cause cocking anybody always bothers me rotten
'cause my love lies limp
'cause my love lies limp
Don't touch me
'cause my love lies limp
Keep away, don't touch me
'cause my love lies limp
Limp limp limp limp limp limp..."

Does it only happen to me that you get a mixture of songs in your head and play pieces of each one at random moments. I listen to all kinds of music but today I had these mixed all day in my head:

Rock: Rise against - the good left undone
Lounge: Orange lounge - Mondo street
House: Gigi D'agostino - I'll fly with you
Pop: Fergie - Clumsy
Ballad: Kudai - Aun

unfortunately I get dumb-ass songs stuck in my head, snippets of songs from advertising especially, because I find if I don't hear a song all the way thru then I have it stuck till I can sing the whole song in its entirety.

Thank heavens for downloading, just so I can put my brain at rest!

...I have been lucky lately. My mind has not been invaded by undesirable music for a while, but I still get songs stuck on repeat. At least it's a good one. Not that I expect anyone else here to think so.

"World Explodes" - by ELVIS HITLER
from the album Supersadomasochisticexpialidocious

If your gonna go then you might as well die
If there's a god you can ask him why
Do you know how fast we're going?
Oh man! ...I'm in another dimension

We're gonna get bigger and louder
'Till the world explodes around us
Hard rock, and hard liquor
Let's speed it up so we'll get there quicker

Anger is the greatest feul
And horror reigns supreme
Even if I died right now I'd be just one less human being

We're gonna get bigger and louder
'Till the world explodes around us
Hard rock, and hard liquor
Let's speed it up so we'll get there quicker

It's a nice day, let's kill somebody
I'll get my wife, and all my buddies
We'll go to work and I'll kill my "friends"
I'm gonna flip, but I don't know when

We're gonna get bigger and louder
'Till the world explodes around us
Hard rock, and hard liquor
Let's speed it up so we'll get there quicker

(long instrumental ...end)

I like this thread. This song gets stuck in my head all the time. Alot of songs do, often.

"I believe" - The Buzzcocks

In these times of contention
It's not my intention to make things plain
I'm looking through mirrors
To catch the reflections that can't be mine
I'm loosing control now
I'll just have to slow down a thought or two
I can't feel the future
And I'm not even certain that there is a past

I believe in the workers revolution
I believe in the final solution
I believe in the shape of things to come
I believe I'm not the only one, yes

When I poison my system
I take thoughts and twist them into shapes
I'm reaching my nadir
And I haven't an idea what to do
I'm painting by numbers
And I can't find the colors that fill you in
I'm not even knowing
If I'm coming or going, if to end or begin

I believe in immaculate conception
I believe in the resurrection
I believe in the elixer of youth
I believe in the absolute truth

There is no love in this world anymore

I've fallenb from favor
While trying to savour experience
I'm seeing things clearly
But it has quite clearly blown my mind
It's the aim of existance
To offer resistance to the flow of time
everything is
And that is why it is, will be the line

I believe in perpetual motion
I believe in perfect devotion
I believe in the things I've never had
I believe in my mum and my dad

There is no love in this world anymore

I'm skipping the pages
Of a book that takes ages for the forward to end
Triangular cover concealing another aspect from view
My relative motion is just an illusion of stopping too
The essence of being
These feelings I'm feeling I just want them to last

I believe in orriginal sin
I believe what I believe in
I believe in the web of fate
I believe I'm going to be late
So I'll be leaving
What I believe in

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

There is no love in this world anymore

Koffin Kats- Vampire's Curse

Sitting here, lonely tomb
How many years have I been so doomed?
No use to think it's been so long
Centuries have come and gone
Yet I still await here for something more to give me back the thrill
Pointless to think of a purpose here
If only I could kill

Never thought life would be so cold
Once I was a king now I'm all alone
So here's to the lonely hearts cause mine is beating still
Will this curse ever end?

A trail of blood across the ground
Another mortal Ive feasted on
Though not for fun, just to survive
Blood no longer tastes like wine
Many a time have I tried to starve
But it never seems to work
Nor can I will myself to stay outside
and burn beneath the light

Sleep the day, stalk the night
Drink the blood, fear the light
Kill again, hate my ways
Kill myself so hard to say

So Ill go on rotting on through the years
Until this curse is done
Or maybe Ill someday have enough and step beneath the sun .

PSYCHOBILLY IS GOOD FOR YOU
