View Full Version : Chat Room Improvements?

Shortly after I joined, I wrote a thread, entitled “The Gift”, a tribute to this site. I wrote it in a rather formal tone to help me more accurately express the nobility of this treasure. Since then I have become more comfortable walking barefoot through the features of this site, and when I think no one is looking, scratching my ass and belching.

Drew, thank you for continuing to improve the accommodations. The new features are always a delight. And, roommates, thank you for bringing the best to this community.

However, with tongue in cheek (I will let you guess whose cheek my tongue is in), I would like to suggest a couple changes to the chat room and hope that you will add your thoughts as well.

Similar to Curiousguy2005’s suggestion, I recommend that the chat panel have two listing for participants. The one on the right to remain as is, but the new one on the left side of the screen for those who are advertising for private encounters. After entering the room, a person could slide their name to the left of the screen and post an ad, visible by right clicking a mouse – “single, left-handed male, wearing a nun’s habit, wanting to jerk off with an elf.” It could be color coded to depict level of horniness. That may deter some of those pesky 30 second commercial breaks in the otherwise mad flow of banter in the chat room.

Or, maybe, a scrolling message at the bottom of the page for the popular boys and girls, so that messages about their whereabouts could be posted: Emily is at a Tantric seminar – will return on Oct 10….David is waxing his balls – will return at 10:20 pm, Eastern Time. That way the lovelorn will have up-to-date information, without the rest of us answering: “have you seen Elmo – I miss him sooooo much”.

I hope that people will read this post as the foolishness it is intended, and not be offended. If you have other light-hearted suggestions about the chat room, I would like to hear about them.

Hugs,
Red

I truly wish I had your gift, Wellred. You can really bring light to a dark day. Thank you for your charm and wit everyday. I have yet to see you post anything that wasn't genuinely entertaining or insightful.

Hugs,

I hope that Arana will forgive me for divulging this information but on a particularly frustrating night in the chat room, we came up with a couple of new "rules" pertaining to the room.

1. "3 second rule" - No one in the chat room will extend a greeting, for example, no one will say "hello elmo" until you have remained in the room for at least 3 seconds. This will save chat room participants the pain of having to say "bye elmo" right away and will not only cut down on frustration, but on needless wear and tear on typing fingers. Of course this rule had to be amended to the more rigid policy of the "10 second rule" once we realized that we were being far too lenient with our policy.

2. Overuse of the Private Me request - If a person comes in to the chat room and shamelessly asks repeatedly for a private message with such a lack of self esteem and pride, they are subject to what we refer to as the "group private". For example, let's say that that Marvin enters chat and the first thing to come out of his mouth is, "Anyone want to chat with me and my dog Bingo...private me. I'm 33 and Bingo is 7 (49 in human years) and we are both well hung and very horny!" and does so for at least ten times will be subject to a "group private"...whereas every member present in the chat room will simultaneously private you. This number is non-negotiable and if you want to avoid the humiliation of such an action, it is recommended that you stop after nine attempts.

Of course, this was also done tongue in cheek and before anyone says anything off color....Arana's tongue was in her cheek and my tongue was in mine!! LOL

Wellred as always you have never failed to amuse me. Damn you are a funny guy and I think your idea has merit if not practicality. I always feel empathy for people who enter the chatroom looking for something else other than the friendly, frantic, fatuous, facetious and fabulous conversation that makes up the chatroom most of the time. Horny, naked, stroking, lonely, looking for contact with someone and understanding, they get swamped by the loquacious, verbiage that engulfs the room at times and must leave them, well, LOST and a voice in the wilderness.
Perhaps the room should be divided in two so that people of like minds can find each other. :) :2cents:

Wow Jazzer!!!

Your command of the language leaves me speechless!! But as always, you have made an eloquent, yet practical suggestion. I think you may be correct in suggesting that those who are here to seek some instant, though short lived companionship, should have a forum to do so without disrupting the "friendly, frantic, fatuous, facetious and fabulous conversation that makes up the chatroom". I'm just jealous that i couldn't come up with such a wonderful way to phrase it as you so wonderfully did!!

I must say that this is my first post.

Having jumped into this chatroom after experiencing other chatrooms, I must agree with the other posts here. While I enjoy the general chatter in the chat room, (lord knows, I can throw my alphabet around as well as the next person) I would like to be able to know who is interested in moving to a more intimate chat. This would save the headache of trying to guess who is in the similiar type mood and possibly bothering someone who is not. I think some of the ideas presented would certainly go far in keeping the intrusions to a minimum.
