View Full Version : Race for the most threads?
PolyLoveTriad
May 1, 2007, 11:33 AM
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed the amount of threads some people post? I started thinking about it after I noticed several threads from someone that really had absolutely nothing to do with anything, just kind of fluttering useless thoughts, that it appears they are trying to get more threads than the one above them lol
I thought maybe there was a race to be "Thread Leader" or something *giggle* No worries, most of the threads I find to be quite intresting and imformative, theres just a few of those ones that make you think 'huh?' lol
Have a great day everyone!

Ya that would be nice..... but then people may start to stick to one forum if there were separated forums for different threads....

actually, I think threads are like a classroom,
There are the people who always sit in front and raise their hands to ask questions (many of which I suspect they already know the answer to and are asking ONLY to be noticed) and those who sit in the back (I was a devoted back seat student!) who never ask a question and can be often found sleeping and the majority who are in the middle....
Starting a thread (for many people---but not all) is like raising your hand in class.....

I ask only if I really don't know the answer to....
Ya, my sex questions may get me laughed at but as inexperinced as I am I REALLY don't know the answer lol
But ya, sometimes I feel some questions I see are repeated.... the person just want answers for himself or herself cause the other question was about someone else even tho its the same thing being asked.

There are too many repeated threads to be sure--one of the deficiencies of the site---it is too bad that they can't break things down by subject instead of just letting the threads hang out there and then they go away if no one posts in them after a rather short period of time--it is one thing when a thread topic came out last year sometime---but a whole other thing when the same topics keep coming up time after time and often just a few weeks after a previous one on the same subject had been up---

couldn't agree more.
even 3 separate forums would be dandy.
current events, sex, personal or something. who knows.
won't hold my breath. if the site isn't set up for someone to cancel their account than i doubt the site is set up for different forums.

Well, in a way your acct does get closed down.
If your inactive for 6 months, your profile and pictures are removed.....
But I do agree what you mean, you should be able to cancel your acct so your not looking at profiles and seeing millions of INACTIVE ones lol Look up "Tasha".... Im the only active one out of a bunch. lol

Love it. Bree my dear, that is a fantastic analogy. I too am a back row kind of chick. Although instead of sleeping I was usually writing catty notes to a friend about the folks who asked all the questions. I also like the back row cause I just like to watch.

What does it really matter? Folks posting threads that are important or not important, relevant or not - who does it hurt, who is inconvenienced? I guess my thoughts are that if we end up complaining about things that are so inconsequential - we have too much time on our hands.

I never complained, it just made me have a good laugh when I thought about the amount of posts. My mother used to have this wall hanging, it read "She who dies with the most fabric wins" Hanging on her sewing room wall. I dont think anyone was implying it hurt or inconvienced anyone.

I agree with a lot of you about having different forum types. It would be nice to just go to the one for sex topics, and then if I need a laugh go to the one which would hold ones like "what kind of undies are you wearing" Its all intresting though, you can see a lot of personality in people posting and sometimes even learn about yourself. Plus its nice to feel like you may be helping someone by posting a reply to their thread when they are dealing with stuff too. But yeah, different forums would be great :)
And btw, youre all silly! LOL *hugs* to everyone :)
