Work... the payrolls... something fishy.... Where is Nancy Drew??

Well, Im no expert at Payrolls but I know enough math to see if something could be fishy going on!!!

I work only 4 hour shifts on days they want me which is most days.... my pay is 8.75 per hour.
That would add up to: 35.00 on each days I work. They pay you weekly.

Well, the fishy part comes from when I check my online statements. I see the payroll but the $$$ is so far off!!

So I worked 5 days one week... that would make me 175.00 take away some tax it would still be in the 100s.... but then why does that week on my statement shows I was paid less than 70.00 ??

Normally Im not picky when it comes to money but umm I don't know what to say. lol I just think my payrolls look VERY FISHY!!!

Do you think I may not be understanding the payroll system or should I talk to the manager? Im actually going to talk to the girl at the employment office that helped me get the job first.

They better not be ripping me off.... If they have been well, thats it... Im packing up and moving back to the friendly areas of Ontario. :tongue:
Seriously tho, Im gonna be in a really bad mood if I find out they are messing with me and we DON'T want me in a bad mood !!!

I have yet to see ANY payroll subs other than whats listed on my bank statement and the sub for the FIRST week.

You need to get a hold of your payroll stubs Sweetie and see each deduction. If you have deductions like we do there is more than just the one regular tax deductions, you have several things taken out. Double check the stub before getting too upset. It will have each individual deduction so you can see where it's going. If it doesn't THEN there is something fishy.

Me knows the sytems aint quite the same, but me goes down me payslip every month wiv a fine tooth comb. If me pay after deductions don look rite I am off 2 the pay an rations peeps hot foot an get them to explain everythin 2 me down 2 the finest detail in words me poor lil brain can understand. An if they don know then they do know 2 find out and find out pdq! Thats wy they there. Not sure ya manager is the person to ask, least not till ya grabbed hold of the person who is responsible for payin ya has been gotten hold of...its their job an they should know or at least know wer 2 go 2 find out.

Sumtimes an added complication can b ya tax, spesh if ya tax coding (ya have that in the states??) has changed an the Inland Revenue (the UK's Internal Revenue) has neva told ya. Spesh in private industry, an most especially in small more personal employers this can mean either the Revenue has slipped up an not informed ya, human error by ya pay office or as has been known pretty often, ya employer dippin his (or her) sticky fingers in your till!

Me sufficiently gobby an a pain in the booty me pay peeps know 2 get me pay rite, an if they don they know they betta have or get the ansas.. Neva take a pay question lyin down...it may b that ya pay is rite..but unless ya pester the arse of em ya will neva know!!
