All of the above and we both shave. On the hygenic front, we like to be shaved because we feel we can more easily/comfortably clean ourselves, which translates into us feeling cleaner overall. I don't shave my pubes smooth, but I trim very close-cropped with an electric trimmer. I do shave my balls smooth though. I just like it this way; and so does my wife. She loves me, but not all of my hair.

I keep my entire pubic area smooth and hairless. I love the look and feel of it, it does seem much cleaner, as hairs tend to trap the odors. I'm the same, I shave every day in the shower and it only takes a few minutes. We're both shaved smooth and we love it that way. It looks great, and feels great. I guess it all started back in high school, when I was on the swim team, the coach was a real pain about "resistence and surface tension" so everyone on the swim team shaved their entire body, now that is an interesting look when everyone in the shower is shaving together. Well, as I have said in a previous post, I don't shave down there. The itching when it grew back, almost drove me crazy! As far as hygiene, clean is clean, dirty is dirty.
