Chat Room

Hi I am farely new to the site and find it very imfomative. I enjoy watching all of the topics and postings. I am eager to go to the chat room but each time I go to chat I am unable to connect to Java. Is it because I have to much internet security, do I need to disable some of it?

It could just be you have your pop up blocker turned on and it won't let you open the chatroom. Have you tried turning that off before clicking onto chat?

arana has that down pat.. very common mistake.. too, have you updated your java by using the test page?? if so, you'll need to go back and configure the new version, and at the same time, disable or remove the old one.. i went thru this about , oh , maybe a week ago[ see my post in forum under "gullible"] takes a while if you're a duffer like me, but, it's worth the effort.. and dont forget to reboot at least twice if using windoze!![ yes that old trick still works, ]

My pop up stopper is always on and I get into the chat just fine. When I first logged into chat it made me download some JAVA software stuff Im pretty sure. If not go to Tools - Internet Options - click on --- delete cookies and then close window and try to get back into chat...
